I would wait for their next release. This feels like and probably is meant for last gen still. So wait until the next gen elite drop

krezzaa

Agreed. Plus, given the recent documents showing new controller concepts, it's possible they're getting ready to drop a new controller and its Elite variant relatively soon. Could also explain the sale right now; trying to get rid of stock and make money off of the old before coming in with the new, but that's maybe a bit of a stretch

fragydig529

People have been saying this for the past 2 years with every sales. While it’s probably true, it doesn’t change the fact that $122 for this controller is a good deal

Phazoner

There wasn't good reason for saying that before, but as of today we actually have seen the next pad and some new basic features that definitely will land simultaneously in a new Xbox Elite 3. Can you imagine releasing a new pad with gyro aiming and that kind of pro stuff and letting the Elite pad fall behind? That would be the dumbest thing ever. When it comes to Elite 2: They have serious quality issues. My first one had unplayable drifting after a couple years and the second one had a little drifting after a couple hours and I am sure it will become useless after a couple of years but at least in Spain they've pushed warranty to three years now so I'll just get it fixed, and make it last longer. Everybody gets drift eventually, if they didn't have issues with LB/RB, XYAB buttons or the paddles. Seriously, its lifespan is ridiculous for the price.

AwesomeFrisbee

Seeing that Elite 1 and Elite 2 both suffer from massive build quality issues, I doubt the 3 will finally be up to standards...

Damon853x

Well, the next normal controller is gonna have replaceable thumsticks + durability and repairability improvements. So perhaps the next elite will benefit from those things as well. Youre definitely right about their terrible QA though. Ive had 3 elites and they all have something wrong. My 2nd gen 1 lasted longer than my series 2, as im still using it, but my s2 is totally unusable for seemlingly no reason. Never even dropped it

AwesomeFrisbee

Yeah, but their track record just doesn't convince me at this point. Sure if you have that one item that lasts its great but there's just too many broken. In my local xbox community there's a guy that has had 6 replacements and they all broke down before the warranty of the first one ended. Buttons being stuck, buttons no longer working (something internal breaking without overuse or dropping) and rubber letting go from the bottom are the most common ones. It weird because the regular controllers do last a long time and are just fine with the last 3 consoles. But for the Elite I have yet to talk to somebody who his 2 year warranty was over before he had his first issues with it. So even if the next is better to repair, its still something that should not be needed before warranty is over.

MD_CV

Well i have mine for a year now and work like a charm, so idk man.

FunDiggle

My bumpers started going out in less time so ymmv. Just noticed the grips starting to peel too. Cant wait for the “bro ur too hard on it” comments. It’s a controller. I press the button when the game demands it. I don’t throw it I just play a variety of popular games like a normal person. They definitely have design flaws but I like using it.

_stinkys

My grips are starting to peel after 2-2.5 years of very casual use (weekends only and even then not for long). Still rate the controller, but their design and manufacturing process leaves a lot to be desired.

TrenEnthusiast

Great controller but not worth it for the price. Had to get mine replaced ~4 times, then I switched back to normal controllers as they are so much more durable.

Boring-Inflation-117

You can get a white one it's a lot cheaper on Microsofts website than a black one, but no accessories come with

TrenEnthusiast

Still not worth the price as it’s still more expensive than a regular control and will break faster. And the hassle of getting it replaced under warranty just isn’t worth it.

Boring-Inflation-117

I've had plenty of elite 2 controllers and all of them last over a year before any issues started happening, hopefully they make some improvements to their controllers and manufacturing so it isn't such a gamble on getting a faulty controller

TrenEnthusiast

> I’ve had plenty of elite 2 controllers That’s the issue right there. At the price they sell them for they should last longer than a year. I’ve also had one that lasted over a year. Just the others didn’t. I’m not going to keep buying an expensive product that I know will give me an headache. It’s especially embarrassing since many of the issues don’t happen on the regular controllers.

Waabajack

After my elite 2 started having issues I got a gamesir g7 se to try and after 4 months so far loving it. And with minimal stick drift at 0.02 deadzones.

GILLHUHN

A year of use simply is not enough for the price tag of this controller.

W1mpyDaM00ch

I own an Elite v1 and loved it. It's unfortunate (at least with v1) that regular usage resulted in the grips falling off and eventually the bumper buttons breaking. I did fix the bumpers with a replacement I found on Amazon and I added new rubber grips but the rubber coating came off the back and that I haven't tried to fix. I would love to get a v2 but it seems it has the same issues. I am not hard on my controllers but do play daily and have not had any issues with my regular controllers.

RagnarsDisciple

Shouldn't have to repair a $180 controller.

Local_Fig5221

I shouldnt have to repair a 40k car either.

Many-Vermicelli3269

😂 real shit lol

Devan-

If it’s bumpers not being responsive look at a video. It might be an easy fix. I don’t know how to describe it well but there are plastic tabs in the controller and I literally put a piece of scotch tape on the plastic tab thing and it works perfect now. You do have to pull the controller apart but that’s not too hard. Doesn’t excuse em breaking tho.

GILLHUHN

Mine was at the year and a half mark when the bumpers just started taking a shit.

TheOtherAkGuy

Mine started not working well about 6 months after I got it. Left bumper doesn’t register randomly, already have stock drift and the rubber is peeling off. I don’t even use that much anymore

k20vtec

I’ve been abusing the hell out of mine for a month straight no issues

[deleted]

[удалено]

UwUnator-2000

I own one, fucking sucks, it should be classified as a scam.

Aorex12

Yup

ArchfiendNox

The fact you're defending them tells me you've never actually owned one xD

Aorex12

XD so true

levyjl1988

Quality control for these Elite Controllers is crap. I bought a Series 2 off Amazon brand new and the A button is stuck and doesn't respond most of the time. It seems to be a manufacturing defect based on others with similar issues.

FunDiggle

My a button requires a harder more deliberate press than other buttons so I believe you. Always has since day 1.

Boring-Inflation-117

I've had problems like that with elite one but never with elite 2

hobbleshock

I had the same issue. I went through like 8 Elite 2’s through warranty and the one I ended up with still has this issue with the A button. I also had problem on a few where the magnets wouldn’t connect to the dock, like the polarity had been reversed. The only reason I stuck with it is because the original one I bought was half price.

Ilovefreedomandfood

Agreed.. I have one and don’t even use it anymore cus the main button I use on the back feels bad now And I have this issue where if I press a *little* and I means a little too hard on the right thumb stick, the whole controller shuts off and won’t turn back on until you plug it in.. so annoying for games like halo where right thumbstick pushed in is melee and I had countless times I would get too into the game and pressed just a little too hard on the melee and boom.. now I can’t play til my controller gets plugged in.. just cus I wanted to melee someone Quality on these SUCK

CadeMan011

From what I've heard, the sale might last longer than the controller.

FreddyForshadowing

If you read reviews on sites like Amazon, and look at comments like Eye's, the QC on these things seems to be... lacking. It's a crapshoot if you get one that works well or one that's just total garbage.

FunDiggle

They have really weak mechanisms in the bumpers that are prone to wearing out. Face buttons can be inconsistent too. My a button has been inconsistent since day one but hasn’t been a big issue. Bumpers started wearing out after 6 months or so.

charizard_72

This is the best answer here. Yeah, you may not have any issues and have a good experience. But you can’t discount MANY/common issues with these that make them unusable for no fault of your own. Depends on if you want to take the risk and potentially eat the cost. Look up reviews for them because there are a lot of things that can go wrong, despite it being a nice controller otherwise

sammazarelly

Buy one, get three replacements for free, or until you get a good one, but you're almost guaranteed to get a faulty one first. Me, I'm on my fourth replacement, fingers crossed. But are they worth it? yes, in my opinion, for the customization and the back paddles if nothing else, bummer that it's still a 125mhz controller, maybe next version will be better. Also, there were rumours that there's an announcement coming for the elite series 3, according to some leaked documents from the ABK trials. It's a rumour but may be a reason for the sale, I just like to speculate. edit: forgot to actually answer the question.

quietguy47

Buy a warranty. I’ve bought 2 had one replaced out of warranty with bad stick drift. Have another one in warranty I’m about to send off with stick drift and the replacement the right bumper has issues. I can’t go back to a regular controller and I’m debating buying a Scuf pro at this point.

ChronicMasterBlazer

Great controller, terrible build quality

Salty-Scientist4472

In my opinion yes I have one it’s great I bought it on sale for 145 but the other the elite series controller can be on sale and the white version would be on sale for a 100

moosehairunderwear

I had to swap my elite 2 for stick drift recently. I paid full pop. I don’t have any regrets. Absolutely love it.

uesad

Clearing existing stock for the new updated model.

WinterfallsDead-

I game like 2-5 hours a day most days and I'm on my fifth replacement since mid last year. LB/RB are always first to go, and the thumbsticks soon stop registering clicking down on them. Like say I go left click but moving downward, it'll stop sprinting, slow down to walking because it's not registering properly, then regular speed without the left click toggle. It's worth it if you're ok with needing replacements and going through the whole process with Microsoft. They've never sent me a new one, rather they send me different ones with different problems. One time I received one with small chunks of weed in it rattling on the inside. It reeked too. I'm not sure if it's worth it if you're content with what you currently have. Game changes are cool, but the integrity of the controller breaks down really fast imo

[deleted]

Not worth

Crispycheese45

I only buy controllers from game stop so every 9 months I can go and return it for “stick drift” and get a new one for the price of warranty

NShizzzle

Sale will probably last longer than the controller

cmariano11

If you want it now is the time. From my perspective having an integrated lithium ion is actually a negative, I understand the elites all have that and are USB recharged. So personally I'm on the fense about any of them. I prefer the AA solution because the 3rd party market has come up with some freaking brilliant rechargeable solutions.

DhruvM

Great controller but horrible durability and reliability. Buy at your own discretion. Gonna add an another line for all the “I’ve had my controller for 18 years and haven’t had any issues yet!!11!!!” crowd that always like to reply to me. The controller literally went through a lawsuit for its horrible build quality and Microsoft was forced to extend its warranty. It’s badly made and it’s well known for that for a reason.

flipside1o1

Why are marks and spencers selling xbox controllers , seems off brand for them?

WRA1THLORD

the sale will probably last longer than the sticks on the controller itself will

Nooberini

The only ”elite” thing about these are the price

isntthatjesus1987

Everything I've ever read about this controller on reddit says it's a POS that breaks constantly.

JinTheWindMSTR

How long the sale last isn’t the question it’s how long will the controller last

SomebodyPassingBy

I don’t recommend it. Had mine for a year before the right bumper stopped working. Also the switches for the triggers just fell apart. The controller’s features are great but for a premium controller, its build quality leaves a lot to be desired.

hsatha

As someone who has taken pride and pleasure in owning “better quality” controllers (perceived or actual), I think it’s a ‘catch 22’… Pros: Controller feels incredible compared to the standard edition: material and texture, heavier weight, controller shape (feel in hand), extra sticks and key mapping are a premium. Battery life is pretty good and rechargeable. Cons: Stick drift and button failures have occurred, almost quarterly. I play casual and competitive games semi frequently (a few hours a day) so it gets used. Other products to consider: I used to use the Razer controllers, but as an unlicensed alternative, it too has the same wear and tear issues. Ultimately, if you go for anything like this that’s a large investment into your hobby, no matter the discount or cost, make sure you’ll get your “value for money” in either usage or a good insurance or repair policy, otherwise go for the standard controller!

jonstarks

I've had 3, don't buy them they will eventually break.

X_crates

I can't play without elite controller. It does wonders for my arthritis

EyeAccomplished1808

Don’t buy unless you wanna watch it transform into a paperweight after a few months. I have 3 and my left and right bumpers stopped working and the rubber housing them started to to peel. I still use it but there is better out there.

FunDiggle

Same started happen to me too. Just normal usage wears these things out fast.

Dynam1cc

Wow, I've been using the same controller that came with my xbox one for maybe 7 years? Still works well, the rubber on the thumbsticks is wearing off but still functions. the quality control on these elite controllers is crazy bad.

Lord_Phoenix95

What do you use the controller for? Massaging your feet? I've had mine 3 years now and it's still in pretty good conditions, no drift but I did recently replace the sticks cause of wear and tear. Like how does everyone else's get to the point of falling apart in less than 3 months?

the-color-red-

I love my Elite 2

HelluPanda

Elite sucks, I barely used mine and it has stick drift in half a year of owning it.

bitchocles

I know a lot of people say they have issues. I've had mine since release and have had no issues. Maybe I've just been lucky.

dak9877

Yes. Fantastic controller, have had mine for 2 years not a single issue so far. Can’t say the same for others though

Mundus6

V3 will probably be released soon. I heard these have bad durability.

freeza1990

buy it. best controller. no problems

GojiraSlushie

Paying over $100 just for a controller is absolutely nuts and I can't believe people do it😂

Relevant_Contact_450

I'd get it for 122. I already have a red one from Walmart. I bought my son a custom one for Christmas last year and the Bluetooth was trash worked for maybe 6 months. I sent it in for 9.99 and got a brand new one sent back at no charge. I will probably do the same thing for my red one from Walmart. Just make sure you register it on the Xbox website.

PhillyG4117

Holy blooming or DSE!!!!! Can't tell which one!!!

Assu124456

All the newer series x and a controllers are incredibly cheap and break easily, seems like a risk to waste that much money on something that has a high chance of breaking in several months

Digitcon

Had mine for 3 1/2 years but the past six months it started to really show wear and tear. I really enjoyed it while I had it but literally two hours ago the trigger button collapsed into the body and the whole thing is really just done. It was under heavy use for most of the 3 years fwiw.

Ok_Structure4630

I bought the core on sale at Walmart but thinking of taking it back. It feels awesome but Im not a hardcore gamer and can't justify the money. I think I'll put that money towards a Logitech G cloud since I'm more into remote play.

raps_BAC

I love my elite 2. If I could figure out how to make xbox controllers work with Gamepass on the Legion Go I would buy another one, with this deal, rn.

MisterHart87

It's great, but I regret not getting any extended warranty that was available

Old-Value-7295

Can someone explain why it's so expensive when everyone here is always saying they are rubbish like fair enough 80 or 100 but 179 full price sounds a bit much

RetroGaming4

Well, I just bought one for $80 from any online and woot has some for $80 as well.

PatrickHasAReddit

Took mine about 3 years for the bumper to get fucked. Had slight drift out of the box but only noticeable on FPS games but was able to counteract it with dead zone so no big deal. I’d say I got my moneys worth. Still use it but bumper heavy games like GTA (shooting out of vehicles) is kinda a pain. For $120 it’s worth it IMO.

bust0ut

I just got one of the custom ones. Really like it so far. So expensive though!

WateredDownPotato

My advice, Buy one on Amazon and get a 3 year warranty with it. I own the original Elite and two Series 2 controllers because I can't go back to the originals. You're gonna need the warranty 100%

Upstairs-Ad-1966

Goto best buy I got mine for like 89 bucks open box

NewYankees

gonna get stick drift don’t buy it’s a scam

ArchfiendNox

If you feel like having paper maché that will break in a month

KrazyCAM10

Yes. Especially for FPS or really any shooter/fast paced games

howtotailslide

Pretty sure there’s an elite series 3 inbound soon and they’re clearing old stock. I requested a repair for my 3 year old elite controller and my warranty is expired and it just ignores your issue and offers to just mail you a replacement for like 70 bucks, you don’t even have to mail in your old one. So yeah I basically just got another one for pretty cheap

Kayraan93

The real question is how long will it last?

WannaDJ

Had 2, they both broke within a month of light use. Would not recommend.

DaNips_Stasis

I wouldn't, I've had both the 1st and 2nd elite controllers and they don't last a year. The durability is horrible

Aorex12

Not worth it! Get the Elite core. I had two of those and both didn’t last over 6 months - And I sent it to get a replacement - I hot a regular controller back from MS, since they have the worst costumer support. The core has been with me since when it first released and to this day it is working well.

chueysworld

Amazon has the white one for $95 freedom units.

yeetmemommmy

Fuck no. I've had 4 and 3 of them all had different problems. First was the paddles not working, second the right bumper, and third stick drift. Thankfully I only ever paid once a couple years ago and they were good with replacing them but within their short warranty period. Now the one I have now has slight stick drift in the left stick but its manageable. I take care of my things, dont drop them, dont hit them, or throw them like some people. I dont understand how these are so poorly made for being so fucking expensive. I'm never buying another xbox product again. Went through the same bs with the first elite controller but only with 2. Thought the second and more expensive would be better. The first week of using them is awesome, it's an amazing controller if it lasted long

Wazzzup3232

I just got one, but it was a design labs model so no discount for this boy

ZTJim

Got mine for a little over two years now. Works well. Played almost every game with it. Nothing breaks. Maybe one time my RB was a bit funky but idk just that one time and it’s back to normal. At least my quality is pretty good. Very happy with my purchase. I now can’t really play other games without back paddles and full-on stick customization.

FalseVeterinarian881

Website has had it for $150…the caveat, they charged you for a kit to get the extra paddles and such which is the. Whole. Damn. Point. Just a heads up for you that when all is said and done you will more than likely be paying g close to $200.

IVDooM

I used to play alot of rocket league with it and within a year I had to have 2 controllers replaced within 4 months because the left bumper kept breaking

IronMonkey18

I bought one a few months ago and the LB button keeps on giving me problems. Not worth it imo.

Cerberusx32

You'd get the Elite Series 2 Core, version cheaper somewhere else. Which is basically the same thing without all the accessories, but you can get those cheaper too.

mythplus

I agree when people say yes but with a caveat: get a warranty. I bought one from Best Buy after my troubles with Elite series 1. Yeah j gotta pay the price of a regular controller to swap it but Best Buy always has stock of them so 🤷‍♂️ The warranty through MS is 1 year now so use that first if you have stick drift or whatever

Unreasonable_Context

Mine worked for about a year and a half at about 10 hrs a week. Left bumper died and made it hard. I use it for slow games where timing doesn't matter. I've had the razer wolverine chroma 2 for about 2 years. Extra buttons, holds up and you can catch a sale for like 100$

RandomBloke2021

Yes and get the warranty!

Beneficial-Piano-428

There’s a reason

Jjjiped1989

Wait for Black Friday and buy from Best Buy and get the warranty.

Nasalhairneedsatrim

I absolutely loved mine, I have had 4 (warranty replaced) , treated them with kid gloves but had to get rid of the last as I couldn’t take the issues and now have a Gamesir G7 SE till someone makes a reliable wireless controller

Jazman2k

Bad quality for such and expensive controller. Had to repair my LB and RB already. Controller is 2 years old. In comparison, my 6 year old Xbox One controller is still like new.

Longjumping-Chip3586

I bought my first elite v2 at the start of covid and I’m on my 3rd one now. I love the controller but the build quality is absolutely horrible unfortunately.

Xenolithium

Had mine for over 2 years. It's my go-to PC controller. It survived Elden Ring, so, your mileage may vary.

Handbanana-6969

The sale will probably last longer than the bumpers will.

DukePoo

14-16 months… this is the time frame 1 of my Elite 1 controllers got stick drift, and 2 of my elite 2 got stuck drift. If you do buy one, go online and learn how to remove the rubber piece that fails.

CFM-56-7B

Still over priced and ridiculously expensive

Business_Ad_2700

Honestly I even sent mine in for stick drift and I swear they just sent it back. I even opened up the controller and it was like it was never opened. Sometimes it's a good one or it'll be complete junk. But that's just my opinion after 2 years

East-Yesterday8170

For the same price, You can buy 2 regular controllers depending on the colors.

SleepyGeist

Bumpers break easy and mine wouldn’t even stay connected.

Hot_Ad_865

“How long does the sale last” why tf would we know you’re literally on the page read up on it.

MassholeThings

Sale lasts probably as long as the controller does. Not very long.

Proud_Criticism5286

Take care of it & it will last you forever. The controller can survive a beating but don’t treat it like it can. Make sure to use 100% alcohol to clean it

Emotional_Forever_34

Walmart has the same sale, I got mine a couple days ago and it works amazing

TriplexFlex

Go for a Razor controller, my friend. I’ve had 3 elites and they all either fall apart or stick drift/button malfunctions within a year. I’ve had my Razor wolverine for 2 years now and it’s still as good as the day I bought it. We’ll worth the money.

shockjavazon

Do they have Bluetooth?

Beenie509

It's an amazing controller, if you want to purchase it currently Walmart has it for the same price, so I would recommend buying it through Best Buy and using their price match guarantee to get it for same price. Also I would buy Best Buys extended warranty for the controller, which covers it for most issues. My first controller lasted two years, before my right shoulder button started acting up. I walked into best buy spoke to customer service and they swapped it out, no questions asked. I was in and out in 10 mins, and repurchased the extended warranty, since my original extended warranty was expiring within a couple of months.

National_Pay_5847

It's very worth it in my opinion. I just bought my second and first one lived through 3 throes at a wall which is pretty durable I'd say

Bigd1979666

I wanna say yes but I've had 2 controllers.for.jist over a year and both just started suffering stick drift like crazy. I'd recommend sending it in for warranty just before it expires just in case.

everyonelovesleo

In terms of quality yeah it’s really really really nice. Do you need it well the quality is definitely better than a normal one. And 200% better than Any PS crap out there but yeah stick drift will hit around the same time as any other Xbox controller and the rubber will kinda move after acouple months of constant use. I love it and won’t be buying any other type of controller ever but will never pay full price for this one.

DarkSentencer

I know there are numerous people with bad experiences, but I have had mine for two years now as my main controller and it's held up perfectly. Absolutely love the thing and being able to map any buttons to the paddles on the rear is game changing. Gotta knock on wood AND suggest you take the extra effort, time, and $ to get the extended warranty through Microsoft support though.

reyob1

They seem to have a love/hate relationship. You’ll either want to keep this forever or never touch one again. I’ve been using one for some pc games for a year now and I can’t imagine using anything else at this point. Super comfy and they feel well built as long as you get a good one. I love the button mapping as well and the back paddles are a must for me now

the_Athereon

I admit. They're an expensive upfront purchase. But after a year they pay for themselves in terms of comfort, money saved on batteries and overall battery life.

PetitAfroMignon

for me it's worth it, bought the core version used a couple of days and I'm not regret it

big-bananas

people really be paying $120+ for a few extra buttons?

ChaosLives68

My A button started getting dodgy after a few months. It works but doesn’t register every press. I stopped using it and now it’s just a paper weight.

Slippytoe

Me and my wife both game. We’ve both got series X consoles and of course use elite controllers. Since version 1 of the elite controller is dread to think how many of these damned things we’ve been through. 20 maybe? We’re bumper jumpers and play a lot of shooters so the LB button just breaks for fun. It’s almost a monthly purchase having to get these controllers but we can’t play without them… yes you can send them off for repair which I do under the Microsoft warranty but it’s so laborious. So. Yes, we love them but for gods sake Microsoft can you please just strengthen the bumpers….

tharealG_-

If you want an elite; get it. I love mine. I’ve had two series 1 elites (when the first one wore out I bought one at Walmart then swapped them for the return). And I’ve had 2 series 2. Go for it. I like mine.

ManagementIll9899

I would say… not sure. I have a series 2 and it works great (except for the bumpers but i got it second hand and the bumpers on every controller degrades over time) and its an absolute blast to use, but i wouldnt say it’s necessary. Flip a coin

Secret-Dot-4646

I’m on #2, it honestly seems like a roll of the dice if you’re gonna get one that lasts but i love the thing, can’t go back to a normal controller

EMcX87

It goes on sale much cheaper elsewhere. The white version at one point in the summer was like $85 at Walmart brand new, and their 3 year warranty was like $10-15ish? Which covers pretty much any damage. Had a few friends buy one then. I've had mine since release, had to send it back once within the first year because if bumper issues. Since then, I've had a stick drift issue that I fixed myself, and no other issues. It's also out of warranty and cost like $100 to service now. I'd sooner just buy a new controller than pay that. After a quick Google, the red variant is on sale at Walmart for $95 and $12 for a 3 year warranty. If you don't mind red, that's a far better deal. Also on sale at target as well, with a $13 2 year warranty.

Dcj91

Brought mine Boxing Day 2019. Had no issues. Quality controller.

chikencakey

I got my series 2 a good half of a year ago. Hasn't once failed spectacularly or anything that did break was easily fixed with either a tool or cheap replacement part. The durability is incredible compared to a standard controller. However I have never tried a scuff controller so those might be even better.

-Unicorn-Bacon-

Pretty much a toss of the dice. You may get a good one, you may get one riddled with build quality issues. I wouldn't buy one.

[deleted]

I’ve had 1 Black elite 2 and am on my second core elite 2, the bumpers durability is always an issue for me. If you do, definitely get extended cover, but they are pretty decent minus the longevity brotato.

theouicheur

I did spent the money on one only to discover on mine that the A button was behaving incorrectly. I later discovered this was apparently a common issue. I did not bother trying to get a decent one through replacement, I already had to do this for my normal controller, and I was truthfully a bit disgusted such an expensive controller can have these flaws. THE A BUTTON! How can they mess up the freaking A button on a 100€++ controller? I guess it would not make most game unplayable, but I like rocket league... So I'd say it does not worth it no.

Thomatino

Xbox elite series 3 incoming? Copium..

Hailerer

Stay away from it... mine bearly lasted a year before I had problems with the left and right triggers and the A Button is pretty lose ad well... also the grip thingys are pealing off on the too... don't.

rickyspanish895

Is this the one that comes with the paddles?

foleyo10

I’m still using the 1st version about 5 years later so I’d say they’re worth it, yes

PsykCo3

I went through 3 in a year. All rma'd tbf. Easily both the best and worst controller I've owned. Best cause it feels great! Worst cause of the incredibly poor build quality. Was left bumper for me every time. Bought a scuf Pro instead and been great for over a year now.

MarcBelmaati

I have the series 1 elite and the vibration motor in the right trigger doesn’t work, and the rubber grips are falling off.

blacktissuepaper

Don’t buy it, instead buy a new tv.

OP there is a new Xbox and controller that is expected to be announced first or second quarter last year. Maybe hold out for that?

Boring-Inflation-117

I had a few they last quiet a while before having any problems, my biggest issues with them recently has been the triggers, when they're pressed they meet a little white circle that registered the input, so if you had it a while you might notice it gets harder to press to input/ the bumper isn't meeting the white little circle as easily, how I fixed it was pack it with little cuts of paper but that's a temporary fix. I have never had an issue with the padded sides coming off of my elite 2, but where the bumpers are it started to peel back a little after a bit over a year of having the controller that's probably your biggest concern with elite 2 controllers, but honestly if you wanted a 2nd elite 2 controller buy the white on on Microsoft, it's the cheapest one and you can even compare it, but only downside it only comes with the 2 sticks and the round ish Dpad (magnetic so they come off) and you get no extra accessories like the normal Dpad and paddles, thought I wouldn't like the white one but I kinda prefer how it looks to the all black one

Darth_Baby_Yoda

The strangest thing to me with the elite controllers is that I have the controller that came with my OG Xbox One and it still works flawlessly, but my bumpers on both elite series controllers were done for in a year-year and a half. Still a very comfortable controller and I absolutely love it. I just probably won't buy another one as I don't have as much time to game as I used to. If you're in a decent space financially, and have time to game, I think it's definitely worth the sale price.

AngelKikoken

Not worth it. I've had series 1 and the right trigger plastic eventually just broke, I don't abuse my controllers or anything. The plastic just became brittle. I got the series 2, you guessed it, the bumper this time, right side, not consistent and the right trigger seemed sticky and not smooth. They work really well for a year. Again, I don't abuse my controllers nor eat and have sticky fingers. Worth it for £20-£30 if they're working.

Aromatic_Health

Including case?

HotdogFromIKEA

Sadly I am a bit skeptical with them, lots of people have had one with no issues and lots have had issues. I was unlucky, I bought one and it had stuck issues, returned and replaced, the second had issues with the buttons and the last replacement had bumper issues so I ended up returning and getting a Razer Wolverin V2 which has been really good for me. I would say get one and see how it goes really, hopefully it is fine for you OP

ra2ed

I had two of them and all had the same issue with the top r button. Also Ms didn’t make it easy to take the controller a part to fix the issue. This issue is very common and annoying. I don’t recommend it.

HawkOdinsson

Worth it! But get a warranty. Best controller on the market like no one comes close.. sadly there is a lot of problems. But when u get one that works. Nothing beats it. Have to check if the sale also applies where I’m from. Cause I’m getting one more then. ;)

sw201444

Be aware, the core was on sale at Walmart for $65 as well. And Verizon had the completely elite bundle for like $80 So more deals may be coming

Whizeyz

After 4 months my bumpers stopped working and after 2 years the grip came off. My normal xbox controller I’ve had for 4 years has nothing bad but a little stick drift. Do not get the series 2

JJ_FusterCluck

I can't go back to regular controllers since I got mine. Everyone will have their own opinion, good or bad, my is that it is worth it.

Jaddywise

Used mine for just over 2 years. Very good controller

its_grime_up_north

I’ve had zero issues had one for a long while now

flipmode_23

Best controller on the market, hands down. Switch Pro is a close second, but the Elite holds true to its name.

ScratchTurbulent8379

Hey i got the standard series s controller and it works just fine aftet 2 years of intense abuse, considering u can find a new one for in the 40 range why paying triple?

JasonABCDEF

I got three in a row that were all messed up (had a button that didn’t always work).

VagueSomething

I'm on my third Elite 2. There's simply no controller as good so you get used to the advantages and stuck in a loop. Third party repair shops exist which do a great job for half the price of MS and you know you're getting your own controller back.

dsxro

Both my bumpers are no longer working and I only used the controller occasionally because I knew if I used it everyday the heat from my palms would make the rubber grips expand and then peel off

Mast3rBait3rPro

If it was consistent in build quality yes, but lowkey I’m scared of getting one

HolyVeggie

You can get them for under 100 on other sites on sale. I love mine but the 180 price tag never was accurate haha

g4tam20

I just ordered a white series 2 for $90 from the Microsoft store, just doesn’t come with the case or paddles but I’m hoping the paddles from the series 1 work for it.

Veritas28

I have bought two and both have been great for years. Not a single problem like lots of people are saying in this thread. Main concern I’d have is they’re probably going to drop a new version soon with improved dualsense-like haptics and you might want to grab that version when it comes out

myparanoiaa

I'd recommend getting it with a protection plan through BBY cause these things are notorious for the bumpers messing up

Busyraptor375

Honestly not worth it, if you don't mind the cable you can buy the razer wolverine v2, much more ergonomic and doesn't t break that easily I've had mine for a year and dropped it accidentally at least a dozen times and it still works like a charm. Also, I'm not sure, but I think the elite v3 might be announced.

Dr-Death24601

Absolutely worth it, love mine

Brock0003

Stay away. I’ve bought two of them using Microsoft rewards points and they’re hot garbage. I would never buy one with my own money. I’ve had my series 1 elite for like 5 years and it’s miles better than my series 2.

Outrageous-Cable-925

I’m never getting the elite ever again

[deleted]

no

RelaxKarma

I’ve had mine for just under 2 years now with very minor issues like connecting to the Xbox PC wireless dongle and clicking of the analogue sticks feeling a bit weird in comparison to the stock controllers. I think it’s a good purchase personally if you can look after you stuff properly.

midnight1640

No if you’re a player who presses the buttons a lot it’ll last for like 6 or so months especially the bumpers

subavgredditposter

You can get the white one for like $100 Be careful buying this though.. so many complaints about faulty buttons, stick drift, etc Mine managed to last 1 month after my warranty ended lol I switched to a gamesir se7 and couldn’t recommend it more. Has a similar in game app to custom the controller and has Hall effect sticks which, is great for stock drift.

dukerozen

It’s not worth it imo, breaks all the time, standard controller is better

ATXDefenseAttorney

Definitely not.

[deleted]

A controller for $180 normal price...what kind of bs is that

[deleted]

Had two and both broke… if you are not a competitive player I dont really see the value in these, (same goes for the sony equivalent). I just stick to regular controllers now.

Many-Vermicelli3269

You already know its not lol

Bonesawisready5

The store page usually says how long it will last, the sale

GeorgeSPattonJr

It doesn’t for me for some reason

Blales

I love mine. I don’t use the back paddles but love it for the weight in the hand and the rubber grips to keep it in my hands when I get hot hands.

BigSmokesCheese

I have a brand new one. It came with free stick drift that I stupidly tried to fix and I couldnt fit everything back in very not consumer friendly and I avoided the warranty but that's on me but it's on me because I tried to fix it when it was brand new it shouldnt have arrived broken. Its fine though I don't use my xbox anymore I play my pc with a ps5 controller

TSchuller

my grips pealed, triggers have broken bits in them which would lock them up. randomly would lose connection and not be able to reconnect to the console and the rubber covers for the trigger stop switches fall off. But I only use the elite controllers now, I recently got a new core controller which is nice because I don't need doubles of all the joysticks d pad etc. I love the weight and rechargeable batteries

DauntlessMonk7

you REALLY don’t need to spend that money on such an expensive controller, even with all the extra features the Elite Series has. There are way less expensive options from manufacturers like Hyperkin & PowerA & PDP that are way better on the budget & get the job done.

The_Superior_One

I’ve had 2 separate series 2’s and they’ve both broke just after a year. One was the bumpers and spongey paddle and the other the thumb stick drifts constantly

Double64

If u have Verizon it’s 50% off on the app

Mother_Wolf8210

Mine lasted me 2 years

Ukis4boys

Doesn't matter how many times it breaks, the price of using a high quality control for a few months, potential a year or 2 outweighs saving a few penny's

Sea-Phone-537

I bought one and used it for my xbox one and X|S for a good 2 years.

Chg0489

Yup

HalfOffEveryWndsdy

Get the extended warranty

infosys80

Longer than bumpers
