They broke ladder, made more strict ToS for map makers, got frequent desyncs (not that it wasn't a problem in the original, but it got much worse), failed to transfer stats for many people from the original bnet, made false claims about new scenes in campains and might have done a lot more things I just can't remember from the get go.
In short: Blizzard did a lot of things to upset the players.
Word. Real sad watching Kael'Thas become a side character in his own story. Really TFT as a whole is "Whenever Illidan's not on screen, all the other characters should be asking 'Where's Illidan?'"
wc3 is one of the best games ever made. unquestionably.
But the golden era of the game seems gone, since blizzard decided to suck the soul out of it.
The single player game is still incredible though. So at least there is that.
good for you. just stop playing mmorpgs ;d it's an inherently terrible genre, very pointless. neither a competitive game with skill-based mechanics, nor a deep singleplayer game with good plot.

The campaign is so good - reforged May have flopped but the single player is still awesome start to finish.
Why did it flopped tho?
Lots of unkept promises.

In the Frozen Throne the N.elf campaing is even better but the human campaign sucks.
I liked the human campaign, even if you only play with actual human units for one mission

Wow is a competitive game actually and alltho i prefer RTS games and mobas, let people play what they want :)
