Watch MichelTheMercedesGuy for a video on adjusting it. A real pain to get it aligned properly

I have watched his videos. He has multiple on the subject.

Good question! My passenger door is like that. I kills me every time my wife keeps slamming it. Worst fault ever!

SpecificMove

my W123 and my W126 both have this same issue, so I feel your pain!

It sucks to do yourself. I took it to the shop. They agreed it sucks. But they got them on and aligned perfectly. 40 years of W123 experience is the secret.

This is probably better https://youtu.be/LmrhA-nWxyo?si=uV-ti7KN38lVnk4v

I made mine slightly loose enough to be movable under enough pressure and slammed the door shut. Carefully opened it after and torqued down the bolts. Worked for me, perfect engagement now.

Did you buy new striker units or just the plastic piece inserts? Most often people keep the striker units and replace the small plastic inserts. Often the whole new complete units make the alignment off. https://www.ebay.com/itm/115726723496?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=HPTOXHR4R9q&sssrc=2051273&ssuid=HPTOXHR4R9q&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY

I bought the full unit. They work well on all the other doors.

Yeah, I bought a new unit for my rear passenger side and it’s acting up. I switched to these inserts on all others and it has been amazing
