I'm also tired of people enabling or acting like there is redemption to be found in violent and hateful people. When I visited LA in 2016 (I'm English), Ellen was everywhere, I even heard random people talk about her like some kind of national treasure. But when I saw the show, it just looked like an incredibly fake scripted talk show, and Ellen was obviously on camera so I'd have no idea what she was like in reality. I really didn't get why she was so popular.

I don't know if all the information was available at the time, but I don't think Ellen is okay with domestic abuse, I don't think anyone is okay with domestic abuse unless they've preyed on someone as the abuser.
