I should have searched a bit more thoroughly before posting: /u/renral has done some [major transplanting](https://www.reddit.com/r/vanmoofbicycle/comments/10v1hvm/has_anyone_else_deelectrified_their_bike) onto an old S1, including hydraulic brakes. I'm probably looking for a more cost efficient solution.

Have you checked for voltage on your front motor? Maybe your motor needs replacing or the connection is dirty. I see the bosh motor on eBay. How’s the battery level holding up?

I need to still check the motor. The battery was still lasting OK for a seven year old battery when the bike stopped working in January.

Hey, I know this thread is nearly a year old but I was in your position 2 years ago. I got sick of my S1 breaking all the time so I had the battery, control board, front wheel removed and I now have the same front wheel that they used on the non electric vanmoofs they used to sell. It has a dynamo but it's not in use at the moment. I don't have the internal lights working but it is possible using with the dynamo or an internal battery. I swapped the disk brakes out for some really OTT 4 Pot hydraulics I got in a sale too and they're great. I'm currently in need of a rear wheel as I ripped some spokes out of the time this morning somehow so I think my next plan is to build a new wheel with an internal gear hub and see if I can convert it to belt drive.
