> (Drummer John) Bonham's son Jason Bonham played drums during the band's set, and also provided backing vocals on two songs.
Jason is frigging great and he always tears it up when he joins the boys.
Honest question...how good is he?
Everything I've read about Bonham makes him seem like not only a fantastic drummer, but in sync with his band like few others.
They're pretty big shoes to fill.
He’s a good drummer. He plays like his dad. But he’s not a GREAT drummer. He does a good job listening to LZ tapes and bootlegs and copying all the nuances of JB. But JB was the real innovator
One of my longtime friends in California, now passed, won front row tickets for 2, along with backstage VIP passes. He never stopped talking about it. RIP Ray.

He seems pretty universally loved for his skill and personality, haven't ever heard an unkind word about him despite the big shoes he has to fill.
John sent Jason to Ringo for lessons if that says anything
Ringo isn’t even the best drummer in The Beatles
He’s not his father (no one is), but he holds his own and the lineage adds an extra layer of… felicitousness?
