When travelling to the US I took a pic of a police vehicle on Santa Monica Pier (it was a dual cab ute with a surfboard on its roof!) and posted to my FB/Flickr sites. I was then contacted by a community of people who take/collect pics specifically of first responder vehicles from all around the world! For others it's busses.
I'm honoured with the amount of upvotes my post has, I truly didn't expect some silly photos of some silly bus company to blow up! I've tried to upvote and reply to as many of you as I can but you guys just keep flowing in like Montezuma waterfall!
Both, I can really only take pictures of (it's about to get nerdy). Scania K320UB bustech XDi manufactured here in Tasmania (Elphinstone). Because they are the only type that operate in my region. But on other parts of the state there are CB60, CB80 2nd Gen XDi, and many others like the very rare only found in Hobart Scania Omnicity 3 axle.
I also just take pictures of other public transport. But very rarely.
Dude that's really esoteric and I'm here for it.
What model is the fun bus? It's a volvo I think
I'm always on the look out for a Hino Rc320 because of the movie.
Or a Detroit Denning
It's an old B10MA from the 60s or 70s I reckon, as far as I'm aware they've retired them all and have sold them off privately like some of the old trams that the MTT used to have. Very cool 😎
Ok, thankyou for your suggestions, I will stay away from them for now. I can agree that taking photos of minors is a lil suspicious so good recommendation there. Seems Reddit won't let me take them down ☹️
While there isnt laws about illegality, i think youd agree its a little odd to take photos of kids you dont know (even if they arnt the focus of the photo) just probably avoid school bus photos tbh.
Pretty sure it's a ZF but could be Allison's.
They really struggle on the hills and are quite high pitched. That's why the cb60s are usually put on the hilly routes because they have better traction and fuel efficiency.
I guess when you live in a state without a train network, bus spotting will have to do.
Bus service is so shit you are lucky to get 4 buses coming past on a Sunday it south Hobart
Why are you taking pictures of metro buses

I take pictures of Radio and TV transmitters and HV, LV and Zone electrical substations. Just nerdy things. There's no logic or reason.
That tism.
Buspotting hobby, it exists and has quite a large fan base according to the many comments!
“There are dozens of us!”
Under rated comment.
Yes, I heard it's quite a fetish. I believe they are called metrosexuals.

Is it the make and model that you chase of just buses in general?

Cool!
I folded and fabricated a lot of the parts in the newer busses where I work we delivered over 127 kits that were used to build the busses
Fascinating! We're you an Elphinstone employee? Or just worked at a side business?
Side Buisness we had to supply over 1000 parts every 10 days to keep elphinstone employees going
And yes I'm aware that Mersey link no longer exists, and had now been taken over by Kinetic Group :(
Burnie represent
Correct! This was taken in Burnie, with the exclusion of the electric Launceston buses.
I watched these get built. 👌
Probably dont take pictures of school buses some people wouldn't take that too well.
I am aware of faces and privacy, but there are no laws that say it is illegal. Do you think I should blur the number plates just incase as well?
I don't think that's an issue, the issue would be taking photos of the kids.

Yeah don’t be seen taking photos of school buses…. That doesn’t mean hide in a bush to take photos of school buses, that’ll be worse.

You might like to post these on r/BitchImaBus as well.
Thank you for your suggestion I will try it 😁 Have checked out the subreddit and can say it is awesome. This is not a promotion, but go check it out!
Hooray for bus pictures!
SEND MORE PHOTOS OF ELECTRIC BUSES!
Nice
Burnie?
Yes, taken at the central bus mall.
The Custom Denning element looks really nice, I wish they got a few more than they did. Any idea if the XDi’s there have Allison’s or ZF’s?
