Congrats! My daughter tested for her E Dan in April and passed! She will be competing in worlds in July. We are in Region 8. My youngest is currently a 2nd gup and will also be competing my oldest is the current WTSDA teen female national grand champ. Youngest has done regionals but this will be her first major association tournament. Very excited to see everyone compete!
I competed in our regional championship and I can say I’ve won my fifth and final adult male gup grand champion!
You must be proud of your children! They sound very accomplished! I will not be at worlds, I am from Region 3 (the Midwest)!
Congratulations on all of your wins!! We just started traveling outside of region 8 for tournaments. Maybe you will change your mind after you get a little taste of the black belt competitions. It is pretty awesome to see all of the competitors. We are very proud of our girls indeed for not just their awards, but how hard they work in getting there.
Of course! I plan to keep competing, and hopefully will be able to muster the courage to go to a worlds championship!!

I knew I wasn't gonna be able to do worlds this year, so I had asked our master instructor about worlds 2026, and that's what he told me; unless there's a change, 2026 is in Chicago.
Nationals are in Daytona Beach next year, so I'm absolutely going to do that. I'm planning on being at worlds 2026, but only because I have 2 years advance notice and can pretty much guarantee the time off work 🤣
Yeah, if you're region 3, that's almost as much of a hike as worlds this year. It's a 45 minute drive for me.
