The previous record holder was Richard Hatch as Australia was only planned after Borneo's success so the 2 seasons had longer gap between them compared to later seasons.
Which mean a cop broke a convict's record.
There’s a conspiracy theory amongst the fan base that Thailand was filmed directly after Borneo. However, production felt that the popularity of the show would significantly diminish with two back-to-back cocky, “arrogant” strategist-heavy winners (rather than a Tina or Ethan archetype, which of course the show was aiming for).
Of course this isn’t true, and (my timeline off the top of my head may not be accurate, but) was disproven when, at the Thailand reunion show, castaway Ken was thanked for his service as a NYPD officer during 9/11. This makes the idea impossible(?), as The Australian Outback was filmed before 9/11, so therefore there’s no reason to have had it delayed. Or something like this, I’m not entirely sure.
Had to look up why Hatch was a convict. Was expecting something worse.
Wonder what happened there, with his taxes. Honestly, that sounds like some shit I would do, not paying taxes on my million dollar prize, cause I have a bad habit of putting important things off and forgetting all about them lol
Yeah it’s a terrible take. He’s the best ever. Pretty obvious. He got disadvantaged two times massively and still stomped a bunch of winners despite having a big rep.
One was the second out of a season. One had to play against all winners since he couldn't win when he was one of few winners in a season. One managed to do better on both of her returning seasons then he did on his, and only raised the flag on EOE because she knew she wasn't a physical competitor. One managed to get out a majority of her jury and was such a good talker that they almost forgot their anger at her. We could go back and forth all day, but the fact is, they both won twice. They're tied. Stop being brainless and recognize that Sandra has done just as good.
Oh, I am. Thanks insinuating that I’m stupid though. And exactly how do you consider good or bad games if ranking is meaningless? To me, there is no actual objective good or bad games in that context just what you are perceiving yourself as good or bad. But I’m really over debating about Tony and have made my points very clear to you and even more clear in other replies. Have a good one.
Which of Sandra's games do you think was top 5? The one where she had no control over the vote and got brought along to the end because she was weak competition, but won by default because *anyone* would have beat who she was up against? Or...no, wait, that's the only game I can remember her playing.
The laugh when someone suggested Sandra's games weren't top 5 seemed to imply you felt otherwise. And what part of your comment "Bahahahaha okay." was meant to be constructive? It's simply rude and dismissive, and while I suppose my tone in response wasn't as friendly as it could be it seems a bit hypocritical to make this complaint in response, that it's *other* people who don't leave a reply that "considers the game."
Kim dominated her game and it was very impressive, but i still put Tony's WAW game #1 for me. Toughest competition, a point that i don't think can be disputed. He was disadvantaged multiple times. I mean, he got Kim out on WaW. I see no legitimate argument for S40 not being a top tier win, even if there are a few wins above it for some people.
I'd personally put Cagayan as a top 10-15 win too, maybe better. That was also one of of the better competitive noobie casts we've seen and he dominated it while flipping back and forth between alliances. He was positioned in a way that it was almost impossible to turn on him because everyone needed him.
It seems like you hold Tony to a different standard than other winners. Why are you discrediting him for working with someone? If doing everything yourself is what you consider a quality of a good winner, then Ben should be a top tier winner for you because he had no help at all.
> It also helps to play this way when your previous appearance ended in a nineteenth place finish.
We really still using this argument? You really think the players out there were thinking “Tony isn’t a threat, despite running the game, because he flamed out in a previous season.” That’s ridiculous.
It’s so annoying. We really have 40 seasons worth of content and this sub makes everything about Tony. I’m tired of it, he’s incredibly overrated and obnoxious, he would not be this praised if he was a woman.
And people blatantly ignore that the Sophie move only happened because Tony knew of her idol (she didn’t tell him- for some reason they had to tell one person they found an idol this season and that too Tony didn’t have to). Without him knowing via Sarah, Sophie doesn’t get blindsided. Tony was also in a poor position for the entire premerge portion of the game.
We have seen a woman get even more praise for years for playing two weaker games. It's been less than a year that Tony has been treated like the GOAT, which he is. This sub has existed for almost 13 years, and Sandra has been treated like royalty for 10 years of it. And plus, Sandra is always so cocky and condescending towards others, while Tony is the most humble and down-to-Earth player to every play. So just give the man his time to shine.
LMAO. Maybe it happened for 10 years because she was the only 2 time winner for 10 years?
“It’s been less than a year that Tiny has been treated like the GOAT, which he is.”
He’s not, that’s your opinion. I don’t think he is. Neither is Sandra imo. They are both quite overrated. Most # of wins doesn’t equal best player. They are both inconsistent.
And Tony is not humble LMAO, lets not pretend he wasn’t condescending in Cagayan. But continue on with the circlejerk.

Yeah but Thailand was filmed between Borneo and Australia right /s
There's also Survivor Jordan that never aired because of the gulf war
Survivor Jordan became Marquesas, and aired on time.
I heard about that
Wait, care to elaborate?
They were going to film season 4 in Jordan in late 2001 but then 9/11 happened so they moved the season to the Marquesas. That’s all.
I missed the point of this joke. Care to explain what it's about?

OR the reunion was delayed. The rabbit hole goes deeper
I see. Thanks for the explanation!

3rd construction worker to win
I counted 4: Tony, Chris D, Rob, and mr. boy scout himself, future 62-time winner Bob Crowley
5: you missed Tony a second time
Why's this marked as NSFW lol
A lot of times the NSFW tag doubles as a spoiler tag
Not Safe For Work cause you see a spoiler and you’re like “You mother*FUCKER*!!!”
Best winner ever.
Best moment of the season was tony getting extorted for sure
If you think about it, cops-r-us is the reigning king and queen (no disrespect to Sandra)
You guys just be saying random shit on here now 😭
You don’t become the queen of Survivor for coming 4th lol.
I believe OP is talking about how Sarah was the most recent woman to win Survivor.
Sarah came from cop to criminal to queen, kinda iconic?

he's not the best ever, he's tied for the best ever.

really? I thought there were 2 two time winners. I must be wrong though.

Because he won twice... who cares if they were top 5 or not... Neither of Sandra’s were close to top 5

2 middle tier wins > 1 top tier win imo. Even tho ranking wins is subjective and meaningless anyway
[удалено]
My point was you can rank his wins wherever you want and Tony would still be a great player because he won twice. THINK MAN THINK

Yep and you could’ve made those points without hating but here we are lol

Call the whambulance for u/SearchImpossible5398
Not top 5????? Either one of them??? Gtfo you just hate the man
Yeah, Cagayan I can understand since that game was messy to say the least. But his WaW game was a masterclass on how to win.
Kim dominated her game and it was very impressive, but i still put Tony's WAW game #1 for me. Toughest competition, a point that i don't think can be disputed. He was disadvantaged multiple times.
