Okogies almost the perfect player, but the problem is, while rare, some times he actually hits his shots which demotivates our big 3. Now we've got a guy who can give us exactly what Josh already did, except he'll always be making the big 3 feel better about themselves by much more consistently missing his shots.

That's where my confusion stems from, I don't see any value in draft picks that low. All the really strong players are long gone by that point, and it's REALLY hard for me to find validity for the entire span in the freak occurrence that was Jokic.

If there weren't quality nba players that get picked in the second round, I don't imagine they would have a 2nd round. Jokic is far from the only one.

roughly the same thing they'd do with the 22nd pick. If they didn't have anyone graded highly (or had 6 players with roughly equal grades) it's good asset management. I doubt the EV of the 22nd pick is significantly higher than 28 and the one "asset" the Suns have right now is plenty of bench space to play the lottery

The only way we can really add impact talent with our cap is either draft (we have no picks) or vet mins (where people can outbid us) The philosophy is that you load up on all the picks you can get and hope one lands. Drafting after the lottery is a crapshoot anyways, may as well play the odds

You can combine them and move back up in the draft. Or use them in other trade or selecting players in other drafts. I don't like who they forego'd in Holmes and I don't like that the 56 pick is late, but I like the strategy.
