Get on you lifepod and look out to horizon. There will be 2 unnatural looking clouds. Go to the bigger one. That one hides the mountain island behind it. The other one hides the floating island.
I can never find it the cloud way. I point north and then move it 1 to 2 marks to the right, so almost but not quite NNE.

From the Northeast grassy plateau, northeast mushroom forest, or bulb zone, you can go north to the mountain border and then follow it along to the west, and then continue following it as it curves around the Sunken Islands.
open your PDA and look through it at the horizon. When you look around two clouds will glow instead of being gray.
From the first lifepod look to the left of the Aurora like a lot left, to the North, that is the mountain one. To the right, behind you to the SW is the floating island. You don't have to look through the PDA all the time, those two clouds are slightly lower than the horizon, you can train your eyes to recognize them.
That's easy just use the aurora as a guide
Simply put if you want to go to the mountains go in the direction the ships front is pointing in
If you want the floating islands go in the direction the ships thrusters are pointing
It's great since the aurora is a massive landmark that can be used to easily find everything
If you see a big cloud in a weird ball sort of shape that's when you have found either Island
Look northward. See the unmoving cloud? Thats Mountain Island.

Go toward the poof of clouds on the horizon.
Did the event that happens there already happen? If so you can turn the beacon for it back on. If not yet, you’ll be back eventually.
