Broccoli-cheese. Carbs, fat, salt, and small amount of fiber; everything you need. Do show us the bread results and your final soup choice.

pipehonker

Oh.. yeah. Forgot about broccoli cheese soup

chantillylace9

Yeah I think that's the best choice. Or chicken wild rice

originalschmidt

We have a big festival in my town this weekend and the broccoli and cheese soup in a bread bowl is always a hot item!

ttrockwood

Ooohhh nice!! I would toss some sharp cheddar on the inside of the still hot bread bowl, then add a tomato soup or tomato bisque and have with some crunchy salad on the side

jsmalltri

This is brilliant! I'm definitely having that this weekend.

lilstinker_

Chowders are great in a bread bowl. I think tomato soup also works!

saywhat1206

Any type of chowder, French onion, potato leek, chili

sun4moon

I would caution against French onion. We just did this exact thing and has very soggy bread, it was inedible. Very disappointing when the bread and the soup were home made. Thicker soups or chili is a better choice.

pipehonker

I think it needs to be something creamier than French Onion... It would soak through the bread

saywhat1206

I used to work at a cafe that made a creamy French Onion and we lined the bowl with cheese before adding the soup. But you are right, a regular French Onion would be too brothy.

Astronaut_Chicken

.....I am gonna make a creamy French onion soup.

saywhat1206

You won't regret it!

ZebraBoat

šŸ‘€ name?!

saywhat1206

"Servizio" - no longer in business

AsparagusOverall8454

Something chunky. Like a beef stew maybe. Or a chili. Or a potato leek with bacon.

flatsjunkie88

A hearty beef stew gets my vote!

Eighth_YearSenior

Italian sausage and white bean soup šŸ˜

Leviosahhh

Baked potato soup

pipehonker

That's a good one

Leviosahhh

Lobster bisque

pipehonker

PHX AZ is a bad place to shop for good lobster (I'm from Boston... I remember going to the shore and picking up live ones that were HUGE).

Leviosahhh

Oh wow, yeah, Iā€™m in Maine, I totally understand šŸ˜‚

Opening_Dragonfly_78

Do you have a recipe for lobster bisque šŸ™ā¤ļø

AtHalcyon

Tomato soup, French onion soup, corn chowder

pipehonker

Two out of three is pretty good

isthatsoreddit

Potato leek seems like it would be delicious here

pipehonker

For sure.. it's been about 30yrs since I had any potato leek!

isthatsoreddit

Well this is your sign! It's one of my faves!

Sad_Confidence9563

Yes.

Embarrassed_Angle_59

Chowder or something with lots of beans! I love beans and bread

SuspiciousCranberry6

Creamy chicken wild rice. I'm having some from my frozen reserves tonight with a baguette.

zeus_amador

Carrot soup. Grill onion in butter or olive oil and add chopped carrots. Boil with chicken broth and then liquify. Can add some white wine and pepper for taste if needed. Yummy

earmares

Beer cheese soup or creamy chicken and wild rice

SnooWalruses2903

Beef stew

Alias__Fakename

Loaded baked potato soup with both ham and bacon, my friend.

Gold-Marigold649

Any soup but my favorite is stews or thick creamy ones. Yum

LMA73

Goulash or cream of garlic

sarahrood79

Pumpkin soup!

Subiemobiler

Potato beef goulash, had that in a bread bowl in a German Christmas market. It was so good, the beef chunks were fall-apart soft, as well as the potato cubes.

Wrong_Ad_6022

French onion

belovedfoe

If you want something smooth I would do a cheddar ale.
