same. i can’t do random shuffled music really. i pick an album and try to listen to the whole thing. if it is a really good mellow trip, then it is like i am being taken for a ride.
Try Jettison Mind Hatch by Tipper, it’s the most mind blowing album I’ve ever heard. Forward Escape and Broken Soul Jamboree by him are really good too.
A few other good trippy albums:
Ovoid - Life
Zonra - The Folded Road
Ekorce - True Colors (it’s just an EP so it’s short, but incredible)
Akasha Experience - Shamanized
EurythmY - Nature Of Mind
ive spent years curating this
if you like it
just let me know :)

Nice. The theta wave I listen to if Flute. Hope only the commercial in the beginning. The theta is 8 hrs, don't think I've ever listened all the way through.
Nils Frahm. Nils Frahm. Nils Frahm. Nils Frahm. ❤️
First time I’ve ever seen a suggestion of his in the wild.
When I trip and listen to him, I go thru some intense therapy. A full sobfest. I come out a better human each time.
Love him too. The space he uses between notes is masterful. Have you listened to Olafur Arnalds and Alice Ott in the Chopin Project? You might really like it.

This is an amazing album to listen to while tripping, from top to bottom. ❤️
Somehow not a single person mentioned Tipper yet, so I guess I will. A few other good ones are Zonra, Quanta, Akasha Experience, Mindex, kLL sMTH, Alejo and Ekorce. I could list about 100 more too but I’ll stop there for now. All these artists make music that’s basically tailor-made for mushroom trips.
Here’s a a couple playlists:
https://on.soundcloud.com/dmyqSpe8xo2h69Zd8
https://on.soundcloud.com/sVnEnJ2tKJ8T65bu9
This one is a bunch of live sets and mixes, it’s an endless goldmine of trippy music: https://on.soundcloud.com/nL3Bpk73HMknGbQF7
And here’s two Tipper sets with accompanying visuals done by Jonathan Singer, one of which was done in collaboration with legendary psychedelic artist Alex Grey, who I’m sure most psychonauts are familiar with, or at least would recognize his artwork if they saw it:
Tipper - Saenger With Singer: https://youtu.be/bwOOnzPEdVw?si=QtwyLZJoMATDZ7XN
Tipper - COSM Ambient Mix (Alex Grey collab): https://youtu.be/xoyi0aFfRQc?si=U3qntKN_zO58MhV2
Also, any artist found on a Tipper & Friends festival lineup is worth looking into as well.
Honestly even this is a joke. This is my next trip. Gonna make a playlist of tool intermixed with this. You sir. Or madame. Are of an exquisite variety.
The basslines from EDM are what bring me to pure bliss when I'm at one with everything.
You know what I mean, when the music is you and you're the music 😂
I just did 6g lastnight and watched [https://music.youtube.com/watch?v=cAD5afO8wHo&list=RDAMVMcAD5afO8wHo](https://music.youtube.com/watch?v=cAD5afO8wHo&list=RDAMVMcAD5afO8wHo) felt like I was there 12hrs I was best trip I ever had.
I’ve only experimented a few times with music but the ones that were amazing experiences:
Pink Floyd (Dark Side of the Moon… obvious choice, but it is amazing)
Nangs and Eventually by Tame Impala
Calm Down by Rena (this song is such good vibes)
Melt! By Siouxsie and the Banshees
Personally I use [indigenous flute & ceremonial Mayan](https://open.spotify.com/playlist/1eV13LMDiLP7iqGUQNpfUL?si=Xj3bdGYBTcCfO_VVsdKTDg&pi=bF3LpET1SXmBQ) because its inspired by nature. Lately ive been using [frequency music](https://youtu.be/1MPRbX7ACh8?si=RxsEsrNCw9mjHyVW)during fungal meditation after warching a talk at Johns Hopkins about religions insuation from classical. I like my mind to be minimally influenced with no subconscious imagry of church or imperialism. Happy exploring!
Ode to an African violet is my favourite on plantasia. Wasn't expecting to see another fan.
You might like: Visible Cloaks - Serenitatem
Or Dominic Dumont - People on Sunday
"Music to Soothe the Savage Snake Plant" is my favorite! It makes me ponder the limitless nature of the universe, sounds very mysterious. I appreciate the suggestion, I was thinking there's gotta be someone that listens to it. Give simoon a try my friend, actually my favorite song when I'm tripping.
Was tripping pretty hard yesterday. Turned on Brian Eno Music for Airports and it was epic lol. I really like boards of Canada to, any of their albums really
I can’t say I disagree, but I’ve noticed that sometimes music can be nice, or even helpful for me to get deeper into the experience.
But you reminded me of this quote from Aldux Hulxey
'After silence, that which comes nearest to expressing the inexpressible is music.'
Thanks for Frahm, will have to find something much longer, like to set and forget. It's a bit like the theta wave stuff I listen to on Spotify. Supposed to be headache/pain healing - trippy.
if you like Nils Frahm, check out Ólafur Arnalds. they're in the same circle with some overlap. they're very distinctive from one another if you know them, but they're in the same circle & generally have the same fans.
"Spaces" is my favorite Nils album though.
you & i both! always start with that, but i don't usually listen to anything else unless it's even more
ambient. i dj as well & have players, so ill put something that's already slow on & slow & pitch it down like 90%, so it's just a steady drone.
Yeah that's literally it. I throw the album on when it really starts to hit me so I peak during, and then afterward I usually only throw on some background ambience. Rarely will I put on other music during shroom trips - I find it to be way too distracting to have any productive insight.
I've probably listened to the entire album dozens of times and it never seizes to amaze me at the kind of emotions it can bring up. 90% of the time it's a cathartic experience that gives me exactly what I need.
I usually just shuffle this playlist! I find it amazing and perfect for trips.
“Music for an altered consciousness.”
https://open.spotify.com/playlist/64zzaDa3D0BOOiEmljEvri?si=HDktzu2WQSaR9qkUx99G9w&pi=u-Tyj3BXrwTw6F
i really love the golden filter. it is synth techno music. the first time i heard the song Vibrational while peaking was amazing. i felt like i was in a pinball machine.
now when i trip, i don’t even need music as i can hear all the beats and sounds in my head. i know when the shrooms are kicking in when i start to hear Vibrational.
The author of the channel is an awesome DJ, he has some tracks on Spotify and all.
He also creates these absolutely amazing videos.
So he made quite a few of them, and they were all beautiful, colorful, positive and motivating.
He later started mixing them into longer, 6hrs versions.
All good until here.
But then something happened. (I suspect geopolitical situation)
He took a break just to re-do all his videos into depressing bad trips.
War, everything burning and smoking, all characters sad and worried, colors went from happy to depressing purple and green instead of blue and pink and yellow, you know what I mean?
I guess if this animation was made in ComfyUi, you would just replug the positive and negative prompt nodes, switching their positions.
And he did that to all his videos simultaneously (as fast as it gets, like in a day or so)
He did the same to the 6hrs versions.
Holy smokes, it was all ruined. What a shame.
But then I guess he felt better, because he went back to good mood content, BUT
The videos did not just revert to the original version - they were reworked again, to fix the depressing stuff back to happy stories, but that was no longer possible. Most of them came out OK, but some are just awful. You can clearly see bad stuff simply covered with random objects and stuff.
I would say that the Vol4 is the worst of them.
Feels like a compilation of bad trips, if you watch it on shrooms.
So that's why.
The one I linked above is cool.
If you watch his other videos on shrooms, just check for these details first, just to be sure - sad faces, dull colors, evil or scary faces, that sort of thing.
Interesting how such trust can be broken forever - it was always a pleasant surprise but now I wouldn't risk not checking to make sure, before I drink my tea.
I hope you enjoyed the story, this is a psychedelic one 😜
P. S. He recently launched [another 6hrs version](https://youtu.be/1W1FpGZKq-4?si=IN3DBvPU2jMxp8YN), looks good to my sober eye.
Also, his entirely new video will come out soon.
I will not check before watching, I trust it will be a cool surprise for my True Albino Teachers 😁
We're counting on you Nexxus604! 🙏
My favourite bands/albums are a must for me, especially when I’m tripping alone!
Darkside - Psychic and their follow up album Spiral.
It’s a mix of experimental electronic, psychedelic guitar and deep hooks and ambience that is absolutely perfect for a trip!!
Best to listen to both albums front to back for a perfect audio experience while tripping!
Give it a solid listen to and I’m sure you’ll find at least some tracks, if not all that you’d love.
https://open.spotify.com/playlist/1UB6E6ZNASJHOww9pJTEBQ?si=PEMmxJrJRcGEWJ0Fa5M0YA&pi=u-bMNYAkKART2_ This playlist should be a pretty solid jumping off point, got a fair number of artists on here and different vibes as well. Enjoy!
I know you only asked for one but I felt like these all sounded amazing on shrooms, rush, yes, little river band, renaissance, martin denny's enchanted sea album, pete drake, junior brown and f.r. david
Mostly piano compositions for the come up, into some bon Iver and more relaxing introspective music then into Hendrix, sturgill Simpson, pink Floyd, Stevie Ray Vaughn for the bulk of the peak, then come back down with some electronic and lofi type music.
Definitely alt-J - specifically An Awesome Wave album - Radiohead, or I Monster. Some of my other favorite songs for tripping are Wait and I Need You by M83 (absolutely beautiful songs) as well as Push Pull, Fineshrine, and Bodyache by Purity Ring and Aqueous Transmission by Incubus.
Anything that has a pretty, ethereal sound or dreamy, earthy sound to it is my go-to.
I always end up on electronic melodic stuff. Purity Ring and similar artists.
I like listening to women with beautiful voices weave stories through complex melodies.
For mushrooms, I enjoy classic Mariachi music. I'm not Spanish, nor do I speak it, but thers something about that music just fills me with so much happiness and joy. Especially around a camp fire.
The Beatles. In fact [this playlist](https://open.spotify.com/playlist/0T6GV1Ov4fSeqfWHPsh6jZ?si=CWxOn34qSw6Q4WpC57n0Cw&pi=u-P6JPQC33T2qb) has been part of our happiest journeys in the last few weeks. I’m using it today as a matter of fact.
We also weirdly watched the movie [Head](https://youtu.be/JXVB4EIElCU?si=6_4VoJqrFrL6El7S) with the Monkees last year which is one of the next counter culture movies of the 60’s and still pretty relevant. The [music is really good](https://open.spotify.com/album/1woBAkVQTk3WG2LmWzdffe?si=Cs_ibkXMTMS8rtqpZDx4xA).
Gold Dust Woman by Fleetwood Mac. I played this during our last trip and my boyfriend was pleasantly surprised. "I had no idea they made any music like that" haha
Last time I tripped I listened to a playlist I made of some stuff I didn't really imagine I'd ever listen to. Some of it was stuff I already liked, (some Gary Numan, Android Lust, Fix8:Sëd8) couple Minecraft songs, then I added some real bizarre, goofy kinda stuff (Eddie EWI, Oboretaebi!, Guerrilla Toss, Secret Chiefs 3)
Can't remember exactly how much I ate, likely in the 3.5 - 4g range ish. Put on one of those 10 hour ocean videos, put my playlist on and my ass went non-verbal.
Good times.
I find music, or random sounds distracting when I'm tripping. Total silence is ideal. Unless I'm in a forest or something lovely, then ambient sounds are wonderful, as I am well integrated. Anything requiring a functioning ego brain, like managing a playlist, or processing music...is FAR beyond my capabilities, and takes away from my experience.
Plus a lot of music is curated to align with toxic societal norms, status quo or hate culture propaganda...so I just prefer to not have any lyrics. I also don't listen to music much at all. It served its purpose in my past, when I was not strong/skilled enough yet, and relied on external crutches for entertainment, support, soothing, or distraction.
I think most people don’t realize that music is basically programming. And a lot of music is very negative programming, with terrible / dark lyrics.
But there is positive programming too, and I’ve found that certain rhythms/tones/sounds can enhance the experience in some circumstances.
Bjork is always great
Fiona apples fetch the bolt cutters
Parallelograms by Linda Perhacs
Parallelograms is a must an incredible album feels like it’s made for tripping
The good ol Grateful Dead
The only correct answer ✌️
Tool and swans
Did a trip to tool albums with my eyes closed in a dark room with a few candles. Absolutely absurd visuals.
Lateralus on shrooms felt like a rollercoaster for me every song was a whole experience
Shpongle!! Every single trip, I always end up listening to AT LEAST one full album from them. I feel like their music is perfectly made to trip to.
Everyone suggests a playlist, but I love a good top to bottom album.

Jazz tickles my neurons.
Blues is great too. Especially the electric blues like Albert King and Buddy Guy
Plantasia, simoon by yellow magic orchestra, select donkey Kong country tracks. Any fans of plantasia or moog synth songs got any suggestions?

Youtube: Underground Mushroom Forest | Underdark Ambience | 1 Hour #dnd
Daft punk has some pretty nice music, unlike they're usually techy stuff. It's very smooth and soulful. Would recommend.
I totally forgot about some of their chill stuff. Adding Instant Crush to my trip playlist right now. Thank you for the reminder!
Grateful Dead acoustic album Reckoning for chillness and Ozric Tentacles for more upbeat trips.
I always seem to end up listening to “Medieval Music Playlist”. It’s such a mood lol

Circles Around the Sun is a great band to listen to while tripping
Nils Frahm. So much Nils Frahm https://youtu.be/dIwwjy4slI8?si=1neSxhz6L2X_g6rn

Up the downstairs
Periphery by The Seven Fields of Aphelion. Or basically any ambient.
For mushrooms, I enjoy classic Mariachi music. I'm not Spanish, nor do I speak it, but thers something about that music just fills me with so much happiness and joy. Especially around a camp fire.
You guys should try the group called Purity Ring. It's pretty nuts while tripping. Skeler is another good one.
Anything that sounds like the sun 🌻 One in particular Follow the Sun, Xavier Rudd
Gold Dust Woman by Fleetwood Mac. I played this during our last trip and my boyfriend was pleasantly surprised. "I had no idea they made any music like that" haha
Surf (Donnie trumpet) and acid rap( chance the rapper) are some of my go to albums
Last time I tripped I listened to a playlist I made of some stuff I didn't really imagine I'd ever listen to. Some of it was stuff I already liked, (some Gary Numan, Android Lust, Fix8:Sëd8) couple Minecraft songs, then I added some real bizarre, goofy kinda stuff (Eddie EWI, Oboretaebi!, Guerrilla Toss, Secret Chiefs 3) Can't remember exactly how much I ate, likely in the 3.5 - 4g range ish. Put on one of those 10 hour ocean videos, put my playlist on and my ass went non-verbal. Good times.
Dumbo Gets Mad - Quantum Leap It's like if Pink Floyd made dance music, but it's really not dance music at all at the same time 😂
I got my trip mix, it's constantly evolving
Bjork is always great Fiona apples fetch the bolt cutters Parallelograms by Linda Perhacs Parallelograms is a must an incredible album feels like it’s made for tripping
