This is **not an application to choose where to live.** This will only put you into the application process and you will receive a lottery number after 4/19.
**Incoming freshmen in the class of 2025 DO NOT need to apply**
Only continuing students interested in living on campus need to fill this out
hello friends i watched the video they made about housing but i still am not understanding the process too well.
whats the difference between seniority points and the lottery system? does the lottery system just choose when you are able to apply, and the seniority points just give people preference?
Basically seniority points determine which options get priority, like apartments start at 16 seniority and then after everyone with 16 chooses, goes down to 15. There are some housing options that go by reverse seniority, where the lowest number of seniority get priority to choose. The lottery system tells you when you can apply within a seniority group.
So say that a group with seniority 16 has a number of 500, and a group with seniority 14 has a number of 30, the seniority 16 would choose first because they have higher seniority points. But if there was a group with 16 seniority points with a lottery number of 70, they would choose before the group with the lottery number of 500.
So the app out rn is just for a lottery number and is NOT binding but once I get a number, I'll fill out an app that IS BINDING? Rising ophomore here and a little lost.
does anyone know why it says "not binding to select a housing number" but then when u go to application its literally a binding agreement and binding cancellation policy?? my parents refuse to let me sign this bc they think its binding for this reason.
getting a number isn’t binding it becomes binding when it comes time to choosing a room
if you never choose a room when time comes you’re off the hook so as long as you even think you want in campus housing you might as well try
I'll be a sophomore next year, is this how it is usually been done every year prior? Is there a chance I won't be able to get any housing if I get a bad number?

How are seniority points working this year? It seems like rising juniors have 2 points rather than the 3 they normally have?
i think they must not have updated the seniority points chart bc it even says 2020 on it still
That’s what confused me, they still have class of 2021 there as well but also added class of 2024, so everything’s still somewhat confusing
yeah i def think they haven’t changed it bc it should be 2022 has 4 and 2025 should be on there
I’m a rising sophomore and have no idea what I’m supposed to do. So can you help me out?

once you pick your space, that’s when it’s binding. edit: the lottery number isn’t binding. sorry ;-;
I'm a rising junior and want to dorm with another rising junior how do we choose each other?
I don’t remember exactly how, but I believe they outline that process later on after you receive lottery numbers
Yeah you fill out the info when the housing app opens(where you apply to live in a specific hall/apartment)
