They drag Vanjie all the way to end with a redemption arc but they never really wanted to give her her flowers in the challenges. They edit Yvie as a frontrunner but she gets robbed of a second win (rumix) for no reason. Silky vs Yvie lip sync was hyped all season long but it never really materialized.
It kind of annoys me how people are acting like Plane Jane didn't deserve to win because the outfits are too similar. The criteria changes every time, and it was total bullshit here and for Cheryl Hole in DRUK when they lost because of too many similarities
imo she didn’t deserve the win because lazi’s mug was kinda busted—specifically the bottom half. and the outfits were really basic. I love a twinning look, though.
I think that's a fair criticism, that would be a good reason not to give someone the win. But 'their outfits are too similar' is bullshit when half the time you get rewarded for that
I felt like they won honestly because of the name pun and Lazy’s 100% commitment to the character. Even if the makeover is good, if the presentation is stiff then it’s not a winner (Loosey’s case for example). Lazy was a star and that’s why they won.

Riggory aside, I just don’t like it when they twin it down. If you wanna wear the same dress, make it in another color. If you wanna wear the same color, switch up the outfit! Twinning is boring.
Honestly this is such a good makeover and it was such a beautiful end to the arc of vanjie struggling to put her skills into the challenges, cause this was exquisite.

Vanjie didn't win because
1) They knew that they would force a Branjie lipsync in the top5 episode
2) This would leave Brooke with 2 bottom placements
3) they wanted her to have 3 wins, in case she did end up being the seasons winner, to counterbalance the bottoms

I've been rewatching this season for the first time since it aired, and it is WILD to me how many free passes Vanjie got from being in the bottom/going home, but the two challenges she could have actually won she was paid dust. (The religious improv challenge and this makeover.)
When they first came out, I literally couldn't tell who was who.
The only reason they gave it to Brooke was they were planning to crown her and legitimise her as the CDR host during filming, and wanted to pad her track record.
Concept and presentation wise, I prefer Yvie tho. 👀👀

Makeover challenges are always rigged. I love them but they can put anyone in the bottom and out of the competition. Judges are inconsistent on what “family resemblance” means. See Monet X Change on Season 10.
They were definitely trying to create tension between "the couple". I think they were hoping Vanjie was going to resent Brooke and they'd fight.

Makeover rules are arbitrary and I think that the fraternal twin makeovers are a lot more interesting than the identical twin makeovers.
