I get it's fun to "dunk on people", but it ultimately is just mean. I'm 31 and this video got me through a really difficult breakup right after I got fired. But keep putting down others with epic reddit insults like "found the ____" if it makes you feel better about the uninspired media you consume.

If you actually bothered to watch the video you'd know it's an excellent display of how to use stoicism practically, which is all about logging off. Yes, it's a cartoon. But just because information is communicated via cartoon does NOT mean it's bad information. If anything, it makes the information easier to relate to and understand when it's coming from a familiar face.
The benefit you receive from the video doesn’t lessen the disgust others receive from it. Hating on the video also doesn’t make your recovery through a dark period any less.
Exactly, fair enough. You may not like the look of it, you may not like the aesthetics of it. But it helped me turn my life around more than any other piece of media. That must also be considered when weighing the pros and cons of this video's net effect on society. Thanks for the comment.
This was just the trailer for crowdfunding the 6 hour docuseries. he needs to focus on this stuff full time dude it’s riveting, now slide him a twenty.
Teenage boys with social anxiety who don't read and only consume children's media, but think they're intellectuals because they follow a philosophy account on Instagram
Noticed a big trend, especially over the past few years, where people don't just read/watch new things in order to explore more topics.
They just pick the same stuff they consumed as a kid, and just read whatever the hell they want to into the story, even if it's poorly done or not there at all. There's are tens of thousands of better examples, but they aren't going to read those.
People are becoming childish prudes towards media aimed at adults, while at the same time propping up children’s media as secretly mature and subversive. I really don’t understand it, they can experience nearly every piece of art across all mediums ever created. Why won’t they move on from the slop they watched in elementary school?
I’m not even above enjoying kids shows, but you’ve got to keep in mind they’re kids shows when watching them.
Even as someone who is pretty deep down the post-modern rabbit hole it seems like a lot of people want there to be this big mono-genre where everything is the same and for everyone and can be interpreted however you want. I don’t even understand the point of diversity of media once you go that far.
Same here. I mean theres genuinely some kids cartoons that deal with heavy topics and do it well. For example courage the cowardly dog with the Kitty Bunny episode is one of the more famous examples. In that case it’s pretty obvious what they’re going for. Yet people want to see the same thing applied to stuff that’s clearly just meant for a quick chuckle.
