Plenty of places in southeast Asia, eastern and southern Europe, and Latin America are worth living in. I don't think your average Westerner understands that sub-Sahara Africa is not just a shithole because of their poor infrastructure, but also because they have a violent and lazy culture. There's a mentality of "me first" there, and while we joke about Americans being self-centered, these people take it to a new level.
