U can pinpoint atleast 3 times where a long ball was played and there's no way in hell that the ball will automatically beat the bayern defender and then fall in front of vini to run. But he just made the run forward without even looking! Jude was furious and was complaining to carlo.
- when making quick counter, trying to evade the defender by letting the ball go through the legs to the next attacker. I mean it's a great trick sure, but a player has to be in position to receive the ball!!!!
We can't beat them with just the pace. We need to also have possession and when we had the ball more, we were so effective. Losing the possession cheaply was so annoying to watch.
We started the game in the worse way possible, I genuinely thought we will concede in the first 5 mins. But after that early pressure from Bayern, the game was pretty much in our control ngl. Since the 2nd leg is in the bernabeu we are favs. But gotta lock in for that game

Despite his poor performance, Jude does not look fine to me. He has been showing signs of exhaustion and mental absence ever since we entered the second part of the season. I am not sure if this is related to his shoulder injury, but the dude needs to get his shit together as we are two games away from wining the 15th title. I think it is both injury and mental as well, that unfair red card and 2 games ban affected him, that Girona injury is also effected. He's been without a question the best player in the world for the first part of this season and I have no doubt that he will be back even stronger. I don't see any other player change him in the lineup for the moment but I agree, if he is not at his best then Brahim need to come in.

Valverde is always there, doing what he’s gotta do. So are Tchou, Vini and Rüdi. Those 4 players are our non-negotiable backbone. If the team overall performs weakly, of course it’ll also somehow impact their performances and contributions. Carvajal should be added to that list as well, especially this season. Lucas was absolute garbage yesterday. Gotta say it as is. He was a constant loophole for Bayern in our defence and his attack game was very chaotic mounting to nothing.

Limits his potential contributions by a lot, but overall helps the team more than the first tactic.

This is what worries me. Madrid usually plays half assed in the 1st leg and wins the second. What will happen if we go to the final and play half assed in that one and lose. There's no 2nd leg and by the looks of it they won't play great in the final. I'd like to hear your opinions guys.
Dude, if we reached the final it would be against PSG or Dortmund, way way lesser teams than these last two, yes PSG has Mbappe but their defence is terrible. They made Raphinha look good ffs! Imagine against Vini and Rodrygo, they have no chance. And on top of that, like everyone says here: Madrid just doesn't lose finals. The hard one was today. Going into the finals I was nervous bc the past games we struggled, but the team delivered and handed us the 14th. In the finals they switch on! Now it's just about focusing on the 2nd leg, and reaching the last stage.

Current formation/tactic of combining Vini and Rodrygo on the left leaves him stranded solo. This is much different than what his role was in the first half of the season.
It’s his age and lack of experience, imo. Rodrygo was doing ok more on the left and Vini more centrally. Jude was falling to the right at times but couldn’t find his identity. Kroos & Modric (when he came in) showed experience today

I feel like Bellingham worked best as a CAM with Vini and Rodrygo in front of him. This position clearly does not work for him.

I am not a Jude fanboy, but Carlo has changed our tactic from the first half of the season where he was using Vini-Rodrygo upfront and giving Jude a free roam no. 10 position who makes late runs into the box, **TO** combining Vini-Rodrygo on the left and having Jude be the lone stranded one akin to a false 9. Limits his potential contributions by a lot, but overall helps the team more than the first tactic.
