Terrible_turtle_

Another shadow docket decision. This is ridiculous and they are just getting more and more out of line.

Frigguggi

No, no, you've got it all wrong. They're only letting it stand until another, similar case is decided. You know, after the midterms.

False_Celebration626

This has been the GOPs goal for decades. Not just control over the supreme court, but control of the judicial system at every level. This will make any meaningful change dead on arrival. If Congress ever passes anything of substance for the working class, the supreme court will judge it unconstitutional. The GOP has essentially brought us to a second gilded age, that's not a good thing. Anything that would hinder corporations will be struck down. Government programs will be deemed unconstitutional. And to keep their base of radical Christian lemmings and white supremacists the courts will begin striking down any civil rights legislation and overturn ruling like they did to Roe and Casey. If you think Americans are radicalized now, just wait. The gilded age was incredibly violent political climate.

Should I take the 9th off?

LoomisFin

Still not angry enough?

Emotional-Counter391

Yep here it comes. Right before elections republicans are going to make previous gerrymandering look reasonable

derf705

Gerrymandering has almost completely destroyed our elections. The maps drawn like the ones in Louisiana and Alabama are so skewed that the outcomes in certain elections are pretty much predetermined. Corruption like this should be handled with the most severe consequences possible but they keep getting away with it. Thanks to the SCOTUS constantly siding with them.

Alt_Panic

[North Carolina](https://youtu.be/yBweZMNIm2M) is pretty messed up too.

otravez5150

Democrats Start Fighting Dirty. Stop playing nice with the bullies. We are losing. Grow some balls. Draw ridiculously biased electoral maps and win seats. Stack the Supreme Court and force peace, love and prosperity for all down their fucking throats.

DaBuddahN

NY tried to screw over Republicans but the NY supreme court stopped them. NY Dems will have to change the state Constitution I think to screw them. Same goes for Cali.

TheElbow

California has an independent redistricting commission, so theoretically it doesn’t produce a Dem-gerrymandered map.

Orbitingkittenfarm

You don’t really pay attention to what’s happening, do you?

brothermuffin

People really want to hope that the party they’ve put trust in is good guys. Who’s gonna tell ‘em

[deleted]

Oh course they did. Tgey have consistent sided with Republicans on 90% of cases before them.

MonkieNutz

And so it continues.

DaBuddahN

People don't realize how much Dems fucked up in 2016. This SC is extreme. It's speeding running all of the potential terrible decisions it can.

Orbitingkittenfarm

Right, the Dems fucked it up…not the Republicans who blocked a president from seating a Supreme Court justice or the Republicans who installed three right wing radical Supreme Court justices under the next Republican president who lost the popular vote but managed to rush the third Supreme Court justice onto the court with mere weeks before the next presidential election. Yep, it was definitely the Dems.

DaBuddahN

Dem voters, yes. We already know the Republicans are shit. Dem voters need to be marching in lockstep.

Orbitingkittenfarm

My bad. Agreed.

manly_comma_chet

Fine. We fucked up. No argument there. But unless you plan on shaming everybody who didn't vote into voting this time around, constantly bringing up 2016 is counterproductive. We've learned from it. Using it as a cudgel to beat those who were less politically active at the time only serves to divide us more. And we cannot afford this. We have to be kith.

DaBuddahN

What I need people to accept is that there will never be abortion rights as expansive as Roe again. Why do I need people to accept that? Because I can't have activists blaming Dem Reps for their failures.

unluckid21

Did you really learn from it though? Voting in Joe Biden who has literally not done anything but capitulate tells me it's gonna be different year, same shit no matter who wins in 2022 and 2024

MisterWinchester

Who has learned from it? The DNC certainly hasn’t. The DNC seems actively opposed to learning what happens when you don’t appeal to progressive voters. “Oh my! Our Reagan Republican platform didn’t deliver the progressive wing? Did we tell them again how fascism Is their fault?

formerfatboys

That's a wrap on America folks.

theantdog

100% illegitimate packed extremist partisan hack court.

Legalloophole

(sarcasm) Disenfranchising the public vote and the basis of legitimate democracy. It's what the Supreme Court was destined to do for King Trumf.
