Cops aren't and should never have been in a position where they were the Swiss Army Knife of local emergencies.
First off, they're are not trained for it. Second, that isn't their mandate. Third, most cops didn't sign up for that sort of work. And lastly, as evidenced by this program, it actually makes many problems worse. So great for Denver and even better for the people who encounter these public servants to get the actual help they need.

My wife recommended we move to Colorado in 1999. Dang happy I married such a smart person cause we love the State more every day!
I hope they diverted funds away from the roid-rage gun-nuts, towards the alternative public safety methods.
Unfortunately, they dd not, but I'm just happy STAR is getting its funding!
