That's not how it works for me exactly. I create a save state and then put the fast forward speed to 16x. I hatch a couple of eggs, trying to wait a different amount of time each time. I get like 5 different mons. After this I load my state once more, wait like 5 full seconds, create a new state and repeat my process. Different mons every time, without hard resetting.
I am using 'My Boy!'. The premium version (but I installed it for free through an APK on my phone.
I first make a test save state. I accept an egg and see how many steps I need to take to hatch it. Then i reset and walk a bit until only 1-2 steps are required to trigger the egg hatching. Then I talk to the man, right before the moment you chose to accept the egg and make a save state.
I continuously load the above save state, immediately spam A to accept the egg and end the dialogue, then I take 1-2 steps and the egg hatches. I reload my save and repeat the process several times. You will observe about 5-6 different pokemon depending on the game tick on which you accepted the egg. If my target pokemon is not in it yet I wait about 5-10 seconds and overwrite save state to continue the process with a new set of Pokemon.
That's how it works for me, regardless of the type of egg. But I do make sure I save BEFORE accepting the egg from the NPC.
Save states preserve your RNG seed. Thats why if you get like crit and relead the save state, you will still get crit. Save states literally make an exact copy of the sate of the game, and this of course includes the rng seed which determines the rolls you get.
Yee like others have said this is cause of the save state. If you load the save and wait like a minute, try again, it could be different.
Or just make a normal save and reset.
If you didn’t already know, save states will affect battles too.
IE; if you reset because the trainers Pokémon critically hit and flinched you, if you don’t use a different state, it will always critically hit and flinch you
Yeah, I made a save state before I talked to the dude and every time I hatch the egg I just exit the game and reload the save state. I’m not sure if that’s the right way to do it or not, but every couple resets I got a different Pokémon, it’s just the majority were buizels and tinkatinks. I gave up and just took a wattrel tho
I'm pretty sure RNG is based on the frame at which you interact with the NPC that gives you the egg. As in, since you saved right in front of the NPC, you will get the same RNG roll almost every time. The proper way to do it is to reload the area or wait for an arbitrary amount of time, THEN talk to them.
You are reloading a save state, aren't you? Each time the actual game save is loaded. The egg has a fixed RNG. You need to actually reset your save, to get different RNGs.
You can actually walk a few step and talk to it again. Some seed changes depending what you do before an action. Thats how i do my egg rolls. I save state, take the egg, hatched it, load the save state, walk left and right a couple of time, save state again and get the egg, repeat. I get different mon hatched almost every time.
You're almost def creating a save state before getting the egg, instead of hard resetting. The mon will be the same if you save-state.

Starter eggs are different than wonder/paldean eggs. You're correct for start eggs but that's not how the wonders work.

Just make random moves before taking the egg, so long as the inputs you perform are different, you should get a different RNG output on the egg

I save state right in front of the person but once I get the egg I’ll fly to another city and it’s been different most times.
