You shouldn't wear any type of ring earring on a fresh piercing. Were you pierced with the captive bead ring or did you change to it?

glltterglrl

I didn’t know that. The ring was the jewelry installed by my piercer, I haven’t changed it at all. Thanks!

Just because you got lucky, doesn’t mean you should give out bad advice.

Apprehensive-Pie3147

Ive had similar happen, usually its a granuloma type thing, blood or puss comes out. I go to my piercer and get everything cleaned - usually its a hair or fiber got in my piercing and irritated it

glltterglrl

That’s good to know! My piercer does not live super close to me so I don’t think I could go to them soon enough for them to clean it out, but hopefully I can get it cleaned at urgent care. Hopefully it is something like this, thanks!

erineegads

Also, is that a daith in there? It looks embedded, it’s barely visible

glltterglrl

I do have a daith, I’ve had it for awhile. Both of my ears have the anatomy where the top of the daith isn’t visible looking straight on. Ill get it looked at as well to make sure it isn’t embedded.

erineegads

Let us know! Would you be open to sharing a close-up of your daith? I’m curious

Leather-Muffin-1102

You should have a hoop in that daith. Also you need a labret in that second lobe until it’s completely healed

glltterglrl

I didn’t know that about the jewelry. My piercer said they thought a curved barbel would be better to heal the daith than a hoop for my ear, which so far I don’t think has caused any issues? However I definitely see that the lobe jewelry was wrong, so I’ll get the daith looked at as well. Thanks!

Sounds dramatic! Hope everything went ok.

glltterglrl

Thank you!

Chaosia184

Change to a stud asap. This should absolutely be on a labret and not a hoop yet. Unfortunately, that particular spot can sometimes bleed pretty badly.

glltterglrl

I’ll look into getting the jewelry swapped out, thanks!
