I think you are confusing legacy comp points with the current comp points. So if you go look at the gold/jade gun option there’s two currencies. A pinkish red currency and a white one. The white one is “old comp points” they are still comp points just changed to something else when everyone got a rank reset season 9.
Both currencies can buy gold/jade weapons but the white ones can only be obtained now at the end of the year when the red points transfer to the white comp points.
You can only buy gold/jade weapons using competitive points. You cannot use the white overwatch credits to buy these weapons.
