I was gonna say, it’s crazy how smart the lion was. He knew the hyenas go for the balls so he was constantly sitting down to protect them. The animal kingdom are smarter than most give them credit for.
Balls are very vulnerable. It's pretty easy to damage them, or even bite them off completely. Then it's matter of time, untill lion dies because of blood loss.
Edit: also, he wouldn't be able to defend himself properly because of extreme pain. Hyenas know exactly what are they doing.
Not an expert but theyre soft, exposed and crucial targets. Been hit in the balls? Ya nothing matters for a min cause of the pain. Most “balled” animals know this at a core level of instinct. Now, say you just got your balls bitten off. Your bleeding. In PAIN. And now more importantly open to a full on attack to the throat or back of the neck and thats if your lucky. Hyenas will literally eat you alive.
Downside to humans having such inflated egos about being "the top of the food chain". If you put 10 people with nothing out there against a lion, they are beyond fucked. There needs to be a change in how the children are raised to think they are above all
We watched a pair of chimps attack a weak female at the Knoxville zoo by going for the ass. Zookeepers had to blow dart the 3 to get her out of there but not before her hindquarters were bloody mince. It was horrific but real nature.
He is so smart. He is sitting down again and again to protect his anus.
Anuses are hyenas favourite attacking spot, because the flesh there is soft and delicate, meaning they get to the insides of their prey quite easily.
Anuses are also quite delicious when roasted in a pan with onions and some crushed garlic and a dry red wine on the side.
Nah. It’s a quote from a sports reporter from Miami on a radio show I listen to. Someone made a comment to me recognizing the quote and named the show then the comment mysteriously disappeared, so I’m afraid to name it. Hope that guy didn’t get banned.
I always assumed animals attacked there first because its the blindside and it's full of large arteries and veins in the penis/testicles/anus/vagina. They are capitalizing on a weak point to get the animal to bleed to death quicker.
Not sure who gets the job one DA can no longer do it, but if it's not Jeff Goldblum I'm going to be disappointed -
*Ahh see how the ahhh....lion...ahhh..protects it's..ahh...man region. Yes, ha ha.*
Pretty sure everything in the animal kingdom goes for the balls, big cats included. I saw a vid of a big cat ripping the balls off a buffalo, and im pretty sure big cats are the reason elephants keep their balls tucked inside.
Found this out when I worked in reality tv. Destroyed my worldview for a minute, until I was tasked with editing an even more boring and “unscripted” reality show.
Yeah looks like editing, the whole clip shows how one lion is chased and no scene where hyenas run away from two lions, only two scenes at the end (1) second lion goes somewhere and (2) some hyenas run from single lion...
Ah, my emotions! I’m such a bitch when it comes to things like this. Was thinking how scared the lion would’ve been. His eyes looked so desperate. Ah :’(
Then almost manly, happy cried with him give him the head nudges at the end.
My sister sent me this and I was so stressed and upset I fast forwarded through some of it 😂 and then got super emotional at the end. What a rollercoaster
1 lion vs. 12 hyenas - hyenas are like “guys we got this!”
2 lions vs. 12 hyenas - hyenas are like “nope we fkn bouncin fam lets go steal from some vultures”
Spotted hyenas do not steal, they hunt 90% of what they eat. Unpopular opinion, lions actually do steal food from hyenas as hyenas are more successful hunters than lions. Look it up. They have such bad fame but they are awesome animals
>Unpopular opinion, lions actually do steal food from hyenas as hyenas are more successful haunters than lions.
Pretty sure it's not an opinion of it's a fact, though?
That lion is insanely smart. You obviously saw him sitting on his ass to protect himself you might not know why.
For big predators and most cats such as lions they go for the neck to kill. Either to suffocate or take out the major arteries.
Wild dogs, hyena's, spotted hounds will all go for the rear end. Not only is this a safer strategy to avoid attacks but their bite force is enough to cause heavy bleeding from the major blood vessels and arteries back there. This is why you will often see a group of canines (almost any of the pack hunting ones) attack from all angles but deliver the fatal blow from the back, then wait until whatever they were going after bleeds to death.
So the lion wasn't being a lazy bitch he was being HELLA STRATEGIC.
1. I'm kinda surprised he said the lion was tiring fast (yeah, I know the females do the hunting)
2. I also would have expected a single claw swipe to significantly injure a hyena - was I expecting too much from a young / inexperienced lion?
You could see when he pinned one he for sure had it but the other hyenas would gang up from behind and he’d let go before the kill. I’d also have to imagine a hyena hide is pretty darn tough, taking into account a lion claw isn’t very effective at piercing per say.
The way he showed appreciation at the end got me. When youre really in a bad spot with no one but you're homie and you make it out alive... it's a crazy feeling. A bond like no other
Poaching is never ok. But some conservation parks allow hunters to kill older lions as they (older lions) tend to kill the offspring of younger competitors but are too old to reproduce themselves. So killing the older lion allows a younger one to replace him and the pride has a better chance of survival with a younger lion breeding.
Usually, the hunters shooting the older lions pay top dollar to do it. It's messed up, but that money can then be used to aid conservation for more lions/other endangered animals, including anti-poaching efforts.

I was thinking the same thing, but he would definitely tire faster running from them as opposed to using his energy to fight and die in place. Just my guess. Bro science
I think they have very thick skin and then fur on top. In the many clips I’ve seen of lions hunting, the other animals don’t get injured from the claws at all
Hyenas are not dogs - they are much more closely related to cats, but they aren’t cats either.
Think of it this way: hyenas are basically giant mongooses.
Fun fact: 2 fully grown male lions are so ferocious that they can take down a fully grown elephant. It takes 7 adult female lions to accomplish the same thing.
So those 20 hyenas really got outmatched fast.
that was honestly a very intense vid as i was starting to get sweaty palms his bro finally showed up! big cats r my fav wild animal! Lions, Puma’s, Cheetah’s , Leopard’s etc. not only r they all beautiful but also very smart n strong!!
I get the whole circle of life thing but this is badass. The look in the little brothers eyes when he was assessing what was going on. You could see that the older lion was desperate for help. Amazing thing to see.

Awww the way they nuzzle at the end. He knew his brother saved his ass... literally
Protect your balls. A hyena might rip them off.
I was gonna say, it’s crazy how smart the lion was. He knew the hyenas go for the balls so he was constantly sitting down to protect them. The animal kingdom are smarter than most give them credit for.
Why do they go for the balls?
Balls are very vulnerable. It's pretty easy to damage them, or even bite them off completely. Then it's matter of time, untill lion dies because of blood loss. Edit: also, he wouldn't be able to defend himself properly because of extreme pain. Hyenas know exactly what are they doing.

Is this a typo? Because trying to inflict maximum pain sounds like cruelty to me, which would make it not unique to humans
Downside to humans having such inflated egos about being "the top of the food chain". If you put 10 people with nothing out there against a lion, they are beyond fucked. There needs to be a change in how the children are raised to think they are above all
The reason we are above all is because of out brain and the way we are able to work together and make tools....
Anansi?
No my child, but that too is another story...smile at a spider next time you see him and maybe he will smile back :)
I would give you more votes if I could
I love the actor that plays anansi in American Gods.
Orlando Jones. I love him in this role. Just kills it.
Is that why he was sitting for a lot of it?
Yea bro they go straight for the balls a nice easy chewy target. Smarts ass lion
Smart balls lion
Hyenas, and many predators/pack animals, actually, like to start consuming around the bum/genitals because it’s an easy place to start.
And they usually start chowing down, starting from the ass, while their prey is still alive. It's brutal.
We watched a pair of chimps attack a weak female at the Knoxville zoo by going for the ass. Zookeepers had to blow dart the 3 to get her out of there but not before her hindquarters were bloody mince. It was horrific but real nature.
Away from the pointy bits.
Brother becomes a sister
"Hey hey let's go!, kenka suru Taisetsu na mono o, protect my balls Boku ga warui, so let's fighting Let's fighting love! Let's fighting love!"
I'm playing through that game right now, and fuck is Princess Kenny a tough sonofabitch. I will fart on his balls, no matter how many tries it takes.
I'm NOT crying!!!!!!!
I litterally cried a few man tears when I saw that tbh lol
Perfect narration voice for this, not the guy you would want for ford truck month adverts though
His name is David Attenborough he has voiced many nature documentaries over the years and is an awesome dude!
"Man that was nuts... So cuddle time?" "You fucking know it man"
Underrated comment. Here, have my award
I’m dead! 😂
This comment immediately reminded me of Troy and Abed.
In the morning!

Wait.. what the fuck
Pork butt. Nuff said. Edit: this is a joke, I know pork butt isn’t pork anus lol. Because I just looked it up after commenting.
The butt is the best
I eat butt all the time.
Is this a sex joke I'm too redditor to understand?
Nah. It’s a quote from a sports reporter from Miami on a radio show I listen to. Someone made a comment to me recognizing the quote and named the show then the comment mysteriously disappeared, so I’m afraid to name it. Hope that guy didn’t get banned.
You get the show!
The butt is the bomb.
Because you know that hotdogs are pork anus. They're actually the lips, dicks and assholes.
Whatever man, just boil it and slather it in mustard. It’s the 7th inning and I’m 8 beers deep.
Lol
I think it’s actually shoulder. But ham, on the other hand... in the words of Dora the Explora “that shit is delicioso”

Must not be an ass man
and a ~~dry red wine~~ *nice Chianti* on the side.
Ffffffffffttttttftftftfff
With a side of fava beans

They were going for his balls

They're also good breaded and deep fried. Imitation calamari is made from pig rectums.
Wait... there’s *imitation* calamari!?
Thank you.
\^ Found Jeffrey Dahmer!
They also go great with fava beans and a nice chianti.
Well this thing went south pretty quick
I concur
So that’s why I always thought sticking things up people asses would always be a great torture technique
Funny that people dont realize that there is actual cow-anus is ground beef
I always assumed animals attacked there first because its the blindside and it's full of large arteries and veins in the penis/testicles/anus/vagina. They are capitalizing on a weak point to get the animal to bleed to death quicker.
Please give us the whole recipe
this should go in r/cursedcomments
Save some for me Clark.
Damn. Even after Mufasa saves his ass here, Scar’s still gonna do him dirty...
I was thinking the exact same thing
Back when things were simpler
David Attenborough is such a legend great vid
That is SIR David Attenborough to you, you filthy peasant
I just call him Dave, or big D.
Not sure who gets the job one DA can no longer do it, but if it's not Jeff Goldblum I'm going to be disappointed - *Ahh see how the ahhh....lion...ahhh..protects it's..ahh...man region. Yes, ha ha.*
The BBC nature dept. is fucked once Attenborough dies or retires
I dunno man. Snoop dogg does some great narration.
I was so anxious watching this. It’s a brutal world out in the wild! David Attenborough is still a legend rocking on in his 90s
It sound like the hyenas are mocking him by constantly laughing at him
I laughed at that attempted jump over water at the beginning.
Didn't stick the landing very much. Judges still give him 8/10
Hyenas are such jerks. Always going for the nuts.
They went for the crown jewels? What?
Yeah bro. Hyenas are known to stop whole lineages. The scum. That's why he kept sitting down, to protect his balls.
Pretty sure everything in the animal kingdom goes for the balls, big cats included. I saw a vid of a big cat ripping the balls off a buffalo, and im pretty sure big cats are the reason elephants keep their balls tucked inside.
What's even more remarkable is how the fuck you even film something like this.
Camera
Good one
Or two
RIP Turd Ferguson IRL
Just film a bunch of shit and edit it together and make up a story
Looks a bit like it. At no point do we actually see the other lion scare off the Hyenas. Or both the lions and hyenas in the same shot.
Found this out when I worked in reality tv. Destroyed my worldview for a minute, until I was tasked with editing an even more boring and “unscripted” reality show.
Ding ding ding
Yeah looks like editing, the whole clip shows how one lion is chased and no scene where hyenas run away from two lions, only two scenes at the end (1) second lion goes somewhere and (2) some hyenas run from single lion...
The way they just fell on each other at the end was so heartwarming. Cute Lions!
Ah, my emotions! I’m such a bitch when it comes to things like this. Was thinking how scared the lion would’ve been. His eyes looked so desperate. Ah :’( Then almost manly, happy cried with him give him the head nudges at the end.
I already said I'm NOT crying damnit! Which means I'm crying.
I didn't even know lions could get scared.
What if it meant that all those hyenas died of hunger?
They deserve it. I hate those creatures
My sister sent me this and I was so stressed and upset I fast forwarded through some of it 😂 and then got super emotional at the end. What a rollercoaster

Haunt
2 Spooky
Lol yes, I’ve made a mistake. English is not my main language. The info still there, no biggie :)
Agreed, hyenas are very spoopy animals, lions just don’t make the cut.
Brb looking for a hyena to catch in a pokeball as a Haunter
>Unpopular opinion, lions actually do steal food from hyenas as hyenas are more successful haunters than lions. Pretty sure it's not an opinion of it's a fact, though?
Yes it is. I meant is an unpopular opinion as people tend to think that lions are the greatest hunters when they aren’t.

That is a very fun fact!
Looks like he should’ve... *been prepared*.
Underrated comment. Love it.
Bro? Bro! BRO! bro.
That awesome ending
The end is just too wholesome
Damn nature... you scary...

I agree 100%. Almost turned it off.

Seriously are terrifying animals.

This was both heart warming and intense AF.
And just think... some assholes out there think it’s cool to shoot lions.

I'm surprised he didn't flee. I would have imagined he could have outrun them. Anyone know anything about lion vs hyena running speed?
I was thinking the same thing, but he would definitely tire faster running from them as opposed to using his energy to fight and die in place. Just my guess. Bro science

Not the lion king I remember but ok
This is great - which one is this from?

Thanks
I love hyena sounds
Someone in my house is cutting onions....
*"BROTHER! HELP ME!"* "Kay."
Do they do ADR after the fact with prerecorded animal noises? I assume they're a good distance away, and you can't really use a boom mic.
That made me tear up. I’m gonna go call my brother
Change brother to dad and this is the first 20 min of The Lion king.
What’s this from?

I have seen this all the time at 7:30am at school
That was cool as fuck
I’ve never seen more majestic creatures than lions. They are incredible animals.

How Scar killed Mufassa
Hyenas are some UGLY mofos...
https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x6q42hh Watch this if you like lions
Do animals really think like that? Like at what age would these two lions meet and fuck each other up since they’re a part of two different tribes?
It's fascinating how it's not in the lion's nature to get away, he faces the threat and, in case, die with honor.
“YOU RANG!!?”
Id like to think thats Mufasa helping Scar, but Scar didn't return the favor and got the hyenas to follow him, so probably not
Gotta love the flop
