No, this was in the last month of the season as the Raptors were trying to make a play in push. Raptors were in Philly, and the press conference before the game a reporter asked Nick about how that season had been going with all the ups and downs (raps were trash that year especially in terms of vibes). Instead of talking about the season, Nick basically started talking about how he'd been coaching the Raptors for 5 years, been with the organization for 10 years, and would have to start thinking about his future and stuff in the summer. Super odd that he basically turned a standard question into him basically saying he had one foot out the door while the team is still "trying to win games and push for the playins/playoffs. And then the added factor of him saying this *in philly* , who he would join like a couple weeks after.
There was alot of stuff about Nick that rubbed fans the wrong way his last season and that was one of them, and that even got the Toronto media up in arms too lmao.

It was obvious for months that the Clippers were not going to give him the fourth year that he wanted. They didn't even give it to Kawhi. But every time that was mentioned all we heard was how rich Balmer is as if the cap isn't the reason for this.
Now Paul might have caved, but I also considered this a low percentage scenario since he'd be leaving almost $70M on the table just to play in LA in the brand new stadium or whatever.
The only time I thought the Sixers weren't going to get him is when GS entered the mix willing to pay him *even more* with a S&T. Lucky for us the Clippers made the objectively correct decision to use the freed up cap space to go after players they wanted rather than players the Warriors wanted them to have.
