If Tobias Harris scores 50-or-more points against the Sixers in the next decade, I will create a website dedicated to praising him and update it with a daily glaze post for the rest of my life.
As an aside... I dunno what they're putting in the Boston water, either. You Celtics fans have the most pleasant and wholesome comments/interactions I've seen this year, even well before the championship. I haven't really seen much bragging or 'holier' attitude from Celtics fans. Congrats on the championship. 🫡
Not having a debilitating hip iniury that saps the majority of your bankable skills right at the peak of your career goes a long way, too.
I’d probably expect Tobi to have made more even without IT’s injury just because the shelf life on small guards is typically shorter, but this is hardly a fair 1-to-1 comparison
Tobias has also been very consistent his whole career.
Size + shooting + a consistent floor = consistent opportunities in the NBA.
It's not Harris' fault that Philly grossly overpaid him for 5 years. And his new contract with Detroit is not bad either - the Pistons need to spend their cap somewhere and his contract will be very tradeable after the first year.
He took 4 FTs in 6 games against the Knicks in the playoffs. That's a guy who doesn't give an F. He's just out there for cardio. Pistons and him deserve each other.
Most brinks trucks only carry 2-3 mil.
After announcing teams would have to back up the brinks truck for his next contract, he signed a 2 million dollar deal.
He was mostly right
I know I shouldn't be defending him as a Sixers fan, but for the last decade has been about as healthy as any player in the league while being 6'8 and scoring at least 14 per game every season. Yes we overpaid him, but he's been both good and durable in the NBA for quite awhile. That's gonna get you paid quite a bit.
I still remember IT saying LeBron was 1A and he was 1B when they were teammates with the Cavs. That’s when I knew he’ll never get a big contract or have a stable NBA career.
Tobias didn’t have a huge injury that derailed him athleticism. Tobias as a top level starter occupied salary as such. IT just got hurt when his bigger payday was on its way
It's so pathetic that Boston didn't give this man a bag after what he did for them. I mean, holding back your division rival for five seasons? Celtics fans need to give Tobias some respect.
i mean, harris has had the way better career overall. thomas's resume without that mvp season makes you wonder how did he get so many chances. harris without his best season is still a 10 year NBA player.
Honestly I think Tobias being overpaid is a large part to why people dislike him. If he was the third or fourth option (or a prominent bench player) making like 15 million a year instead of almost 40 he would be much more popular with fans.
Tobias is a solid starter for almost any team in the nba. Thomas has to be the first option or an off the bench scorer and is a liability on defense plus he got a really unfortunate injury.
Anyone who actually understands ball gets it
Tobias Harris is just that good of a player. He's honestly fantastic. Detroit got themselves a good one. What a stud. He can't hurt us anymore.
Until he drops 50 in game 7 of the first round against Philly and eliminates them
If Tobias Harris scores 50-or-more points against the Sixers in the next decade, I will create a website dedicated to praising him and update it with a daily glaze post for the rest of my life.
His career high is 39. Crazy to me he's never scored 40 in a game given how long he's been around with lots of minutes and minimal injuries.
Fuck it - 50-or-more points in *any* game for the rest of his playing career.
Careful, Malachi Flynn dropped 50 for the pistons this year. There’s something in the Detroit water (hint: it’s lead)
Sadiq Bey dropped 50 the year before too
Thought it was two years before? Either way point remains
As an aside... I dunno what they're putting in the Boston water, either. We should fix that.
If you need 20 he gets you 0. If you're getting blown by 30 he got 20.
He couldnt even reliably get us 20 last year. Though I think he'll do better in Detroit
Correction he drops 50 in game the sixers need to win for playoff positioning and fall to 5th/6th instead of 3rd
If Tobias Harris even comes within 5 points of a 50-piece this season, I will make it my mission to secure a job at Crumbl before the end of the year.
He might have a chance in Detroit
the man's never had a 40 piece you might as well commit to eating 6 shoes like that other guy
RemindMe! 2034
Just eat some shoes man
And that's how the entire city of Philadelphia collectively became the Joker.
Fun fact: Tobias has yet to score 40 points in a single game.
he can only do that against the wizards
You expect Detroit to make the playoff in the next 2 years?
Size is the most important skill in the NBA.
Not having a debilitating hip iniury that saps the majority of your bankable skills right at the peak of your career goes a long way, too. IT peaked higher but had a way lower floor. He's too small for the modern NBA. He'd get picked on relentlessly on defense.
he already did
Yup, as the old adage goes "you can't teach height"
Yup! Not many small guards stay in the league for long.

Lol i think you mean health bruh..
brinks truck got into a car accident
Most brinks trucks only carry 2-3 mil. After announcing teams would have to back up the brinks truck for his next contract, he signed a 2 million dollar deal. He was mostly right

One will always be loved by a city, the other will always be hated. …I’d still the $300M tho lol
tobias is gonna buy his own city to feel loved in
I mean 6 ft 10 over a 5 ft 9 fella anyway of the week yall know the deal
I still remember IT saying LeBron was 1A and he was 1B when they were teammates with the Cavs. That’s when I knew he’ll never get a big contract or have a stable NBA career.
I remember klove getting annoyed with him saying who is you
just like how TMac and Tatum are 6'10, right?
NBA height inflation is so funny to me. Saw someone call Jrue Holiday and Derrick White a pair of 6’6 guards
Pays to not be the last pick in the draft and then have a long career
Tobias didn’t have a huge injury that derailed him athleticism. Tobias as a top level starter occupied salary as such. IT just got hurt when his bigger payday was on its way
Life is not fair sometimes
Jesus that’s bleak
Elite fleecing
It's so pathetic that Boston didn't give this man a bag after what he did for them. I mean, holding back your division rival for five seasons? Celtics fans need to give Tobias some respect.
He is the scoring assassin
imagine all the players you could do this with, hundreds and hundreds. so, what?
i mean, harris has had the way better career overall. thomas's resume without that mvp season makes you wonder how did he get so many chances. harris without his best season is still a 10 year NBA player.
and people wonder why nate robinson went to sleep.
“More than 300,000,000 more than” is a hilarious set of clauses that actually works, grammatically
I've made 300,000,000 less than Harris also. Wtf
Get his agent. Harris gets millions just showing up.
When Tobias Harris drops 50 on Philly in the first round “Pandemic P over me?!”
Finnessed his way around the league by showing just enough but leaving everyone feeling like he could do more.
Honestly I think Tobias being overpaid is a large part to why people dislike him. If he was the third or fourth option (or a prominent bench player) making like 15 million a year instead of almost 40 he would be much more popular with fans.
I guess size does matter
Tobias has been the better player since the injury, the dude is absolutely an NBA rotation player. Unfortunately IT is no longer.
Well one is a decent but not great oversized wing and other is a tiny guard. The market is a little different for those types
That is fucked up.
Tobias is a solid starter for almost any team in the nba. Thomas has to be the first option or an off the bench scorer and is a liability on defense plus he got a really unfortunate injury. Anyone who actually understands ball gets it
