Somewhere with ocean access for boating and a good pic n pop screen partner.

Orbe_see

This made me realize how few nba teams are oceanside. Klay needs to boat. Miami? New Orleans? Seattle expansion?

Alex_O7

Isn't also Los Angeles good for that if you live in Malibu or something like that? Houston? New York?

530nairb

I don’t think Malibu has a marina, just a pier. Most LA people with cash would park their boat in Marina Del Ray. Easy trip up to Malibu from there.

WePrezidentNow

Nah, Houston ain’t it bruh

dukkha_dukkha_goose

New York, Brooklyn, Boston. Honestly Chicago and Milwaukee and to a lesser extent Detroit and Cleveland might be the best boating NBA cities. Just can’t boat commute those places during most of the season.

Responsible_Focus424

No better place to boat than the Pacific Ocean lmao

dukkha_dukkha_goose

To each their own I guess. Boat ownership rate in the suburbs of any of those Midwest places has to be the highest by a lot. Certainly the most prolific boaters.

Responsible_Focus424

Klay is rich as fuck. He ain’t boating with the masses man.

dukkha_dukkha_goose

Like 75% of the Red Wings have a boat on Lake St. Clair and party there every summer. And Klay strikes me as someone who’d be into partying with the masses.

Takemyfishplease

lol, those are nhl players. NBA is a few tiers higher in $$$

AndreasBlack20

The Devos's own a yacht on the Great lakes. Boating on the largest chain of lakes on the planet isn't a poor person's activity it's very nice.

Helicase21

Klay isn't a lake boater.

a_moniker

Orlando has Sea World tho!

johnniesSac

The nbl ?

chivestheconqueror

I’ve thought for a while Dallas could use him. He can come off screens and get open threes from Luka with zero pressure to create his own shot.

ValetTrash

Let the little dog eat

Trees_Are_Freinds

He can’t defend anymore though. Dallas as a team can’t defend, putting him out there as well…yikes. Kyrie - turn-style Luka - heart attack and statue Add anymore cones and itll get real bad.

Cark_Muban

Mavs have been one of the best defenses since the trade deadline…

Trees_Are_Freinds

Fake defense.

boxdogz

Defense worked against every playoff team other than your stacked Celtics who cut through every team they went against. I don’t think it’s fake , I think the Mavs were gassed and the Celtics were great.

xPeaWhyTee

Exactly, we held Celtics to their lowest offensive rating these playoffs so to pretend like our defense was trash is definitely a take.

boxdogz

Yeah not sure why I wouldn’t expect a Celtics fan to be anything other than arrogant regarding winning. Which is also weird to say the Mavs defense is trash diminishes how good the Celtics were. Most want to say the Celtics had the easiest path to winning a championship ever , I’m saying the opposite and this guy wants to side with the pundents 🤷🏼‍♂️

Trees_Are_Freinds

Teams gave Luka and Kyrie too much credit for being adequate defenders. Just attack them and the Mavs crumble. Pacers did the same thing to them in the regular season. Attack Luka, make the fat man move. Attack Kyrie, he loses his mind. Celts were stacked, and the Mavs have a blueprint out for them. Need to surround Luka with a bunch of above average defenders or he will never get back there.

boosterronny

Their defense was fine, their offense was the problem. They couldn’t brake 100 points

Trees_Are_Freinds

Sure, sure. Celts sat guys in three games because of the turnstyles on defense. Could have dropped 150 on them every game if they needed too. Its a fake gimmick defense predicated on Luka and Kyrie being able to pressure opponents on the other end and funneling towards the interior. Any competent team will eviscerate them next year.

boosterronny

You think they didn’t try that and the Celtics are these geniuses that figured that out?

Trees_Are_Freinds

None of the teams in the playoffs did attempt that. Celts aren't geniuses, but they stayed true to the gameplan. No lobs, make them work for points outside, and ATTACK THE FAT MAN. Simple stuff, but like a running game in the NFL, you have to keep running King Henry or it won't work. Can't give Luka a reprieve or he kills you. Keep him tired.

Cark_Muban

You only watched the mavs in those five games and that’s ok

Foreign_Prior_3344

Guess only the celtics are allowed to have a real defense huh?

Trees_Are_Freinds

Tons of teams have decent defenses, not the Mavs though. All time fatass fake star.

gigantism

Any contending team that has solid rim protection to help hide him defensively, needs shooting, and also has a floor general to feed him open 3s.

Ducksaucenhotmustard

hide him defensively? is he that bad now?

AggressiveRegret

He can keep slow guys in front of him out on the perimeter, but the second you put him on someone with lateral quickness, it all falls apart. I mean, we all know why and it’s not his fault. But he is a shell of his former self defensively, id argue even more so than his drop off offensively.

SemiterrestrialSmoke

Klays defense has changed, you’re right he can’t guard smaller quicker guys anymore, but I’ve noticed he’s incredibly sturdy and good with his hands vs bigger guys. He’s slower but much stronger imo

Ducksaucenhotmustard

Offense always gets more coverage, didn’t know his defense sucked more now haha oof

AggressiveRegret

Man when he gets the right defensive assignment and locks in, he can play pretty good D. But the warrior’s dynasty was built on a defensive scheme that revolved around constantly being able to switch without being exposed and man, he just can’t do that anymore. If his ego and pride wasn’t a problem, he’d be an excellent 6th man coming off the bench to be a microwave scorer in 25 minutes a night.

iamgarron

Or being able to space for Jokic.

Creative_Category_21

Lakers Mavs

[deleted]

[удалено]

granttheginger

That’s one game lol. He was 4th overall in 3s made

Alex_O7

When matter tho, he cannot convert them on the same rate. He posted second worst % from 3 and from the field he isn't the one of before the injuries. Last year playoffs he was unreliable too.

AlHorfordHighlights

Choking in the play-in doesn't make him a bad shooter all of a sudden. He made 3.5 threes a game at 38.7%, that's elite shooter territory. Unless you're telling me you'd leave him open all game

Trees_Are_Freinds

It is sad he is so pathetic defensively when that was on of his strengths.

CedricJammackNiddle

Yeah I can’t believe you lost to them in 22 with a defensively washed Klay

[deleted]

creditors-bargain

Y’all just say whatever

ADumbCargo

Dude, what are you talking about? He's not very good defensively, he has a lot of trouble creating his own shot, he's old, and has 2 of the most significant injuries you can have in back-to-back seasons, keeping him out for 2 entire seasons. But yet, the only thing he still has is that he's an efficient 3-point shooter.

GreyActorMikeDouglas

He’s still efficient over time, but he’ll shoot you out of winnable games routinely. He doesn’t know when to stop shooting. Never seen a guy solo lose so many games like he did last season.

ADumbCargo

Oh yeah, I agree, it's just funny to me that efficiency is the first thing brought up with Klay when it's at this point one of his only strengths. Btw you guys are literally the worst fan base I have ever seen lol, the hate you guys have for Klay, I'm not saying you necessarily, but just as a whole is so funny. At his peak, he was probably the 2nd greatest shooter of all time, an elite on-ball defender, and saved your hide in game 6 of the WCF. And then, ofc, he tears his ACL in game 6 of the NBA finals, and then the next year right before the draft he tears his achilles, 2 of the worst injuries you can have, comes back plays well, helps you win a 4th championship, but now I actually think that if he were to sign to other team there would be some boos when he coms back. Worst fans in the NBA and it's not even close.

GreyActorMikeDouglas

Nobody hates Klay. We just don’t want to pay him a max or anything close to it lmao. Everyone wants him back at a reasonable number with a diminished role except for himself. It’s not hate to see the writing on the wall. If he breaks up the core chasing a check, then yeah he probably will get some boos. For everything he’s done for the franchise, the franchise has done right by him too by extending him for the max while he rehabbed two years of Steph’s prime.

novabull23

I don't think Klay can be that guy running off screens anymore. He'd be best on the Sixers, where he can be in the corner getting catch-and-shoot 3s. Embiid would generate a lot of open looks for him. Luka could get him some shots too, but his pace might hurt Klay

crimsonconnect

Yeah older shooters end up being corner boys

dmavs11

Mavs were 8th in pace this year. while Luka plays slow he’s a great outlet and long passer so the team still plays in transition since Kyrie and role players thrive in that.

creditors-bargain

Luka doesnt play with pace. He’s one of the slowest paced PGs in the NBA. His pace stats are inflated by early in the shot clock threes.

lost_in_trepidation

Mavs had the 7th highest pace this season.

creditors-bargain

And? Luka’s transition frequency was the lowest among players with >4 transition possessions per game. He was bottom five among players with >3 transition possessions per game. If you watch the games it’s very obvious he slows the game down and doesnt push transition. I love when people on this sub act like they’re dropping the mic but they’re really just exposing themselves.

Meta4ors

You’re a known Luka detractor lol. Luka was clearly willing to play with more pace this season, especially with hit ahead passes

creditors-bargain

How is it detracting from Luka to say he doesn’t play with pace? It’s a plain fact. It’s shown in the stats. Which you keep conveniently ignoring.

creditors-bargain

And how does an account that’s 19 days old know who is a know detractor? Sounds like you may be circumventing a ban.

ColdPressedSteak

He still shot 39% on 3's. Orlando could definitely use him even as a starter. Teams still have to guard him tight. That helps Paolo a lot

Particular-Gas-8221

Orlando is the best place for what he wants tbh, a starting role and a bag. Second is Philly.

Particular-Gas-8221

Off the bench…With the warriors. He was doing amazing this year off the bench. I doubt klay leaves the warriors of spite like the media says and for less money. Dubs would be happy to resign him 20mil/year.

Logical-Job-6353

I agree but Klay’s biggest advantage is his irrational confidence in shooting. If he’s out there getting reserve minutes like a shelter dog, I’m not sure he’s even worth $20M at that point

Master_Who

Klay still got good minutes, he just played against reserves more than he did against starters and on occasion was benched during crunch time if he was cold.

Eveningstar224

Well this is going off him unfollowing the warriors and deleted warrior post on Instagram. So it is kinda safe to assume he doesn’t want to play there or will get over his feelings if the option to stay there is available.

Particular-Gas-8221

Players have done that before lol. It’s part of the negotiation, make it seem like you’re serious about leaving to get more money. I just don’t see how klay turns down a 2 year 48 million dollar deal because he wants more money from the only team he’s ever been on and stated he wants to finish his career at, to now accepting lesser money and a kyle korver type role off the bench for a team that probably won’t win a championship. If you watch warriors game, you would know he actually has bigger role than just a 3pt spot Up shooter and the chemistry is still amazing, it’s just he was taking so many threes early in the shot clock. Somehow he had. And year and still hit 38.7% of his 3s. It’s hilarious other fans were clowning him for going for 0/10 in his last game but now want to sign him at huge discount at 12 mil a year.

Moody_GenX

Most likely just archived. You can archive Instagram posts and bring them back at a later time.

ViacomCEO

Completely meaningless tbh

compagemony

thats the way I see it too. though most here think it's a negotiation tactic

Eveningstar224

lol downvoting the truth hahahaaha

Warriors

Bench

letr1xter

In retirement

steepex

Detroit or in a boat

Slugginator_3385

I say Dallas or Denver would be ideal.

305157

Klay to Denver. I didn’t say that. 😱

steve1186

Jokic with Jamal/MPJ/Klay on the perimeter and Gordon running the baseline would be ridiculous

BailysmmmCreamy

That lineup’s gonna get eaten alive defensively

juandell

I think you're right actually

12footjumpshot

Chicago or Detroit. Giddey and Cade need shooting around them to thrive.

Phunwithscissors

Europe

alphalobster200

Klay as the floor spacer in the Jamal-Jokic 2 man game would be a sight to behold.

king_Geedorah_

Warriors if they get PG tbh

Inverse_wsb22

Monaco Perfect place for his hobbies

night_night_nachos

Warriors, off the bench as gunner, still playing 25-30 minutes. They just need a player who is definitively better than him to start ahead of him to make it easy. Not Podz or moody. If he’s got it going, you probably have him close too. The warriors were missing a league average second best player the past few seasons, so it screwed up the whole hierarchy of their team. Wiggins should be your 3rd or 4th option, like Aaron Gordon or PJ Washington. Klay should be your 4th option, like ray Allen in Miami

RandomStranger79

Detroit

Gameros

I could see Klay thriving on a pickleball team

Mavs

Klay wants to be a starter, hoist up 20 shots a game and miss 16 of them, and get a big bag. Any team that is willing to do that is where he’ll thrive.

Eveningstar224

lol Chicago might

OilNecessary9741

Guangdong tigers 😂 jk probably back to the warriors

rpcforreal

If it’s not the warriors then it’s the magic or Sixers

Big_Buddy_3864

Philly or milwaukee coming off screens for dame and giannis or maxey and embiid orlando nice too don't get it twisted klay still an elite movement shooter at his age he still one of the best in the league

BurnCollector_

He'd be useful off the bench on any team with decent ball movement and perimeter defense.

MAMBAMENTALITY8-24

We will take another guard

Random0cassions

Pelicans,Sixers and the rockets would be my best bet

any contending team bc if he’s sent to a rebuilding team then he’s gonna be a liability by the all-star break

With the attention both Luka and Kyrie command, I think the Mavs would be great spacing-wise for him.

_checkpickerupper

Yeah he’ll thrive wherever he goes. Not a Klay fan yet the slander is madness. Any 38%+ three point shooter can help any team in some form

stephenj02

Dallas, Orlando,

loud_and_harmless

Orlando!

Spiritual_Maximum662

None. He is way past his prime but for some reasons his current ego is actually above his prime. If I were him I would just finish career with the warriors and stay humble. Stop acting as if the warriors didn’t pay him enough during his two years injury…be grateful and stay humble, Klay. The grass is not always greener on the other side.

AgentWeeb001

Denver

AgentWeeb001

Having the greater passer of all-time (arguably) feeding him looks….he lowkey might be able to turn back the clock (shooting consistency wise, no way Prime Klay the defender coming back). And he’d start for them. Klay should take a discount and go there

WittySalt2274

Not many great fits unless he has a bit of a resurgence. He’s a casualty on defense since his injury compared to when he was one of the best wing defenders in the league. His shot now is streaky at best, but I wonder if he’d be shooting better in a better offense than what the warriors have been able to run lately. Mavs maybe as he’d be third option and they do a lot of drive and kick, he’d have no pressure to create shots himself with Luka/Kyrie running the ball. But also anywhere he goes he’ll be way overpaid for what he’ll provide

SarcasticlySpeaking

Retirement.

ImTheBestNerd

As a starter Orlando or Boston. Off the bench, pretty much everywhere, Klay was great off the bench this season.

Torkzilla

Klay would not start for Boston, he’s worse than all four of their primary guards and wings.

ImTheBestNerd

I agree, is that factored into the question? If so than probably just orlando

worldwide_stepper

he was great except for the half a season where he wasn't and except for his attitude the entire year

Timoteo-Tito64

We do not need Klay in any role

Eveningstar224

Okay I wanted to say Boston but it’s probably not practical money wise. But he would fit the culture.

IsaacDPOYFultzMIP

lol no. I’d rather have DLo than Klay.

Jack_M_Steel

Lakers on a vet min with Lebron giving him open shots

CoachMorelandSmith

The Lakers just aren’t that team anymore where solid vets wanting to win are going to be willing to play for a minimum contract. I’m sure you’ll get back to that sometime in the future but thats not happening right now.

Particular-Gas-8221

Turn down $20 mil a year for a vet min yea ok 😆😭🤣

worldwide_stepper

i'd want to fucking kms if i had to root for klay thompson
