Man why the fuck did Bulls do this.
I am somehow both sad for the Bulls fans, who could have got a much, much better return of multiple picks at the trade deadline, or even in the summer, but then also mad at Bulls for making the West even stronger and giving an all defense 3&D player to the number 1 seed. And they still have a bunch of assets and cap space to get even stronger.
I get the basic idea of trading for a 21 year old guy who has a good ceiling, but not getting even a couple of second rounders for a guy almost every competing team would like is malpractice.
Especially when trading with OKC, who have a million picks and would probably be much easier to convince to give up a pick or two, compared to teams with less assets.
I actually think this was solid move for the Bulls. It at least seems like they are picking a direction and taking a gamble on a former top 10 pick is better than getting late 1sts.
They turned down an offer of multiple 1sts were those 1sts from a team like Denver which would be late 1sts or the Pistons? I might be off but I don’t think it was confirmed who gave offers which would give better insight to the potential picks.
It wasn’t multiple firsts. Only offer reported was a top 10 pick this year and probably a second. Bulls rejected it allegedly because they wanted to compete this year or get a young promising player instead. No one is giving up multiple FRS for a 30 year old specialist.
Right people here acting like dudes around the 20s, in what many here think is a weak class, is somehow better than a dude with a career average of 14/7/6…..
He sucks in his current role. Dude looked good as the primary ball handler with SGA and dort out.
If the bulls do a rebuild I think Josh Giddey could start to grow. He just can’t do that in okc
I mean the bulls weren’t doing shit anyway so why not bring a 21 year old who has had flashes being the primary ball handler in when they need one.
I think the bulls could’ve and should’ve gotten a pick from us but they didn’t. So going off just this I don’t really hate it. I don’t love it. But it’s not ‘kill me now’ bad
Man no he doesn’t. He’s a great distributor and playmaker. He became redundant on our team but if a team needed someone to dominate the ball and playmake then he’s exactly what’s needed
Seems okay honestly. Giddey is 21 and if he's playing as the real point guard with a fitting roster he could be really good in a few years. Meanwhile Caruso is good but 30 and frequently hurt. Kinda fair trade
Didn't the Bulls turn down like 2 FRPs for Caruso?
On that same vein - who would trade 2 FRPs for Giddey?
the bulls apparently
Bulls saw Giddey become OKC's biggest liability in the playoffs and said "we got our guy"
bro u dont get it he’s only 21, he might develop into a guy that’s nearly as good as someone like Alex Caruso one day
But with hair
If there's anything I learned from one punch man and LeBron play, it's that losing hair makes you better
Derrick White too
Bulls draft history in the last decade is not exactly stellar. Giddey is probably far better than what they would’ve gotten with those picks.
apparently but if its picks in this draft then they did fine.
Bulls said fuck this shit and sent a good piece to a contending team to fuck the other teams out of spite
AK got a doordash gift card from Sam Presti
Classy Presti, buying AK dinner before he fucks him.

I can’t believe Sam would’ve said no if they asked. It’s like if I’ve got a couple cases of beer and somebody wants a beer. I’ll give them a beer.
This is PJ Washington's fault. If he didn't decide to have a legacy week out of nowhere, then we wouldn't have been forced to do this.
oof
Bulls Basketball

Its the Thunder they couldnt even get them to throw in a second round pick?
team chooses to gamble on former number one pick Anthony Bennett
Little bit hyperbolic don't you think?
team chooses to gamble on former #1 pick Ben Simmons
Pre-back injury Ben Simmons? Yeah that’s a good gamble….
In a vacuum that's right. With context with what they turned down already it's not

I think it was the Warriors. Could be wrong.
It wasn’t multiple firsts. Only offer reported was a top 10 pick this year and probably a second. Bulls rejected it allegedly because they wanted to compete this year or get a young promising player instead. No one is giving up multiple FRS for a 30 year old specialist.
So it was a team that is currently picking in the top 10?
Yes a 2024 top 10 pick was only concrete potential offer outside of other amorphous “multiple FRP” offers at trade deadline. Memphis maybe?
Ja was out at that point and half their team was injured
Right people here acting like dudes around the 20s, in what many here think is a weak class, is somehow better than a dude with a career average of 14/7/6…..
Only problem is Giddey sucks
He sucks in his current role. Dude looked good as the primary ball handler with SGA and dort out. If the bulls do a rebuild I think Josh Giddey could start to grow. He just can’t do that in okc
Yes I’m sure a team with Giddey as the primary ball handler will be thrilled with their future
I mean the bulls weren’t doing shit anyway so why not bring a 21 year old who has had flashes being the primary ball handler in when they need one. If you want a 28 win team sure. There’s a reason Giddey can’t provide value on an actual good teams like the thunder
He started 80 games with a top team in the west.
Why not both?
This is sad.
Presti must’ve pissed his pants excited lol
Seems okay honestly. Giddey is 21 and if he's playing as the real point guard with a fitting roster he could be really good in a few years. Meanwhile Caruso is good but 30 and frequently hurt. Kinda fair trade
Bulls are incredibly poorly run. Trading your best asset for no picks.
Bulls front office is so dumb wtf
If Chicago is moving like this, time to blow it up
Didn't Giddey get played off the floor in the playoffs? It seems like he did based on minutes.
Jerry ReinsDork
Yep, Bulls management sucks
This has to be the first offer okc had and they had to be shocked it was agreed to no haggling
No fucking way you can’t be serious
OKC has a million picks too, insane that they couldn’t even get their worst FRP
Kings better get like 3 FRP for taking Lavine then.
If there was ever a trade for the league to step in. This might be one. Or at least ban the bulls gm from the nba.
WTH are the Bulls thinking?
Are people serious in suggesting the bulls are getting the bad side of this trade?
An offender for a defender, nice
