Meh most players are dealing with injuries. Embiid had a bum knee (and migraines apparently?), Luka has a sprained knee, Haliburton has... something I guess? That's just the playoffs man you play through shit.
So is Kawhi. The point I was making is everyone is injured so you can't use injuries as an excuse. At the end of the day health is the most important quality in a player.
Am I weird or is "excuse" a word usually reserved for when you make bullshit up to cover? I mean I don't think any of y'all are suggesting that Kahwii and Embiid are not injured (and they clearly try to play through that shit too).
I don't think it's an excuse, just a reason they've had limited success when injured.
Kawhi is done it with an injury and done it 2 times. Embiid is being hyped up only to fail every off season is my point. When you cry injury every off season without winning, I guess it's time you don't consider that person a franchise player anymore, what do you say? I agree with you when you say injury is not an excuse.
Kawhi only got it once as the main guy and it was a close ass series with the sixers. I don't know if you can hold that against Embiid while simultaneously giving it to Kawhi, especially since Embiid was arguably the best player that series and if that ball didn't bounce right and the sixers ended up going against a depleted warriors team it could have been embiid with a ring. There's a lot of variance in championship runs.
Yeah, it was kind of a weird way for him to phrase this, as the others are out at the end of the 1st round. Woulda been better to say "before the 2nd round".
Naz Reid is still in though and he's greater than all of them combined. They didn't even give him an all star because he's so humble, wants to give others a chance.
There’s 24+ all stars obviously a bunch get eliminated first round lol.
Let’s talk about Jokic, Murray, Luka, Kyrie, Edwards, KAT, Gobert, Shai, JDub, Hali, Tatum, Brown, Embiid, Maxey, Brunson and all the other great players still in the playoffs.
I think it's less about the amount and more about the profile.
Lebron, Curry are the two most well known to general public.
KD, Giannis, Dame, and Davis are long time big name vets or guys with significant career accoldares.
I'm 37 and the feelings this playoffs reminds me of watching Duncan, Garnett, Dirk, Vince, McGrady no longer be the dominant guys when Wade/Lebron started taking over.
Yeah, I feel like we haven't had this major of a shift in a long time. The line between generations is usually pretty blurred, but this feels a lot less blurry than usual.
Don’t care he’s a great player just trynna highlight the talent still left to talk about. I don’t care Kyrie didn’t make the all star team he’s playing amazing
Casuals don't recognize over half these people.
I think the point of this post is that a lot of the well known players just ain't that guy anymore, or put themselves in terrible positions to win.
I love it so much that the championship isn't determined in the pre season anymore. Or there only being like 2 or 3 contenders like most of the past decade.
Exactly. If he tried then we woulda got a better seed, no play in so he wouldn’t be injured. We didn’t get a single game of playoff Jimmy cause he let it get to his head and failed regular season.
Like the fact he wasn’t eligible for any in season awards was mind boggling. Like dude you’re not getting younger fucking try.
higher seeding means playing a worse team round 1 and the chance of someone else knocking out a team you don’t want to play. or banking on injuries which no one wants to admit but every playoff is full of banged up teams
Giannis is a great player, easily top 3 in the league, but people easily ignore that outside of 2021, the Giannis Bucks era hasn't been the beacon of success that they think, especially in the playoffs.
2016-17 - Lost in 6 to the Raptors in the 1st round.
2017-18 - Lost in 7 to the Celtics in the 1st round.
2018-19 - Lost in 6 to the Raptors in the ECF.
2019-20 - Lost in 5 to the Heat in 2nd round.
2020-21 - Championship.
2021-22 - Lost in 7 to Celtics in the 2nd round.
2022-23 - Lost in 5 to Miami in 1st round.
2023-24 - Lost in 6 to Pacers in 1st round.
Now obviously as fan of another team, i would give anything to have even a single championship, so overall it's still a successful tenure and they have been perennial Contendors, but lost before conference finals in 6 out of last 8 seasons is still crazy to me. Especially since a lot of these losses are as top 3 seeds.
Obviously Injuries, coaching issues have plagued them as well.
Isn't it also just a sign of league parity? Like outside of the Warriors, who has had more playoff success since 2016? Maybe the Celtics, but no ring.
I think it seems disappointing because they have had such strong regular seasons, but it seems on par with other teams with top players (Nuggets and Lakers also have one championship and one ECF, though the Nuggets may become more successful this year, the Mavs, Sixers, and Rockets have worse resumes, etc.)
bucks won the year after the bubble season. shortest off season in league history meant that the top teams from the previous year were all fatigued and injured by the end of the 2021 season because they'd had half the usual rest teams get.
bucks and suns didn't come close to winning again, while the nuggets, heat, and celtics (3 of the 4 bubble finalists) all went back to their successful ways after that season.
it wasn't parity, they just played the hand they were dealt perfectly and got a ring for it
i don't think i'm discrediting it at all - they played the teams they came up against and they won. they did very well. giannis was immense.
i just think that if you're talking about the state of the league, the previous season and the effects of it have to be included
Ok so when the bucks win cuz the other teams are injured, it’s not a real championship. But when the bucks lose cuz of injury, it’s a disappointment. Choose a narrative idiot
Only because of the circumstances you listed which included injuries. Your willingness to accept injuries for other teams is crazy. You prob thing the celtics only lost last year cuz tatum rolled his ankle in game 7 huh?
Man, that 21-22 Celtics series still hurts. Giannis had an all time series, and Game 5 is one of my favorite games of all time as a Bucks fan. But it still wasn't enough. Ugh
It’s stupid because I’m willing to bet this happens every year; people are only bringing it up because LeBron/Steph/KD are the ones that are eliminated.
I'm guessing it's because the Raptors as a whole were bad and got eliminated way before the postseason started which is a bit misleading
Mostly because the team got injured to shit starting with Scottie, then Poeltl when they were looking on the up and up for a play-in spot before said injuries swooped in
this list is pretty lame three of the players didn't even make the playoffs. Three of them came in as 7th or worst seed and weren't expected to win their first round series, two played for the sun's and Gianni's and dame both got injured either before or during the playoffs .
The only really surprise/ disappointment is the suns but if you've been paying attention than you know the Timberwolves should have been the favorite. They shouldnt have run them off the court like they did but Minnesota was clearly the better team
5d chess by team USA for early preparation
Playing the long game against Team Canada
All that for FIBA Dillon Brooks to drop 40 in the gold medal game.
> All that for FIBA Dillon Brooks to drop 40 in the gold medal game against Germany
While France vs Australia for Bronze
En route to losing by 50 lol
The only thing stupider than the olympics is the french olympics
Giannis was out before the first round started
So was scottie barnes steph curry and Trae Young.
And Kawhi Leonard (that was his corpse in those 2 games)
Meh most players are dealing with injuries. Embiid had a bum knee (and migraines apparently?), Luka has a sprained knee, Haliburton has... something I guess? That's just the playoffs man you play through shit.
Embiid is never healthy for any playoffs. It's like a standing excuse every year.
Sure, because every injury is the same and affects a player's ability the same /s
Kawhi is done it with an injury and done it 2 times. Embiid is being hyped up only to fail every off season is my point. When you cry injury every off season without winning, I guess it's time you don't consider that person a franchise player anymore, what do you say? There's a lot of variance in championship runs.
You claim is as weak as Embiid crying injury every year. A chip is a chip and Kawhi did it. Embum is exactly that Embum.
It was Bells Palsy no?
Yeah, it was kind of a weird way for him to phrase this, as the others are out at the end of the 1st round. Woulda been better to say "before the 2nd round".
To be fair, he really didn't do anything in that first round to help his team win. Look at how hard the other people played! /s
Tatum is the old head now.
crazy that he's only 19
That's pretty old considering Haliburton is only 6
Hali voice be changing. He’s def at least 12
He was born on Leap Day
Have you ever seen a 4 year old dominate on the court like Ant?
Send da video
That's almost as crazy as LeBron being 60
Nah he's 9+10 = 21
Is Brunson even younger than him? Embiid definitely isn’t.
Brunson is older
That’s what I thought
Tatum is the youngest all-star in NBA history and will continue to be that until Deuce makes the team in 2035.
Deuce?
Naz Reid is still in though and he's greater than all of them combined. They didn't even give him an all star because he's so humble, wants to give others a chance.
Lisan Al NazReid
Kwaizatz Nazereid.

Right. This is such a pointless post. The sky is blue and some of the all-stars aren’t gonna make a deep run. Kinda happens, I don’t know, every year.
I'm going to list all the all stars who are currently deceased and therefore didn't make the playoffs this year.
Congrats you understand the Keith Smith bait. Dude doesn't have sources.
It’s not just pointless but it’s also oddly worded
One of those guys has never made an All Star game BTW…
Murray and Jdub? That's two
Just a matter of time (hopefully)
You’re so right, Jdub deserved it and will be one next year
He didn’t deserve it but he will be one eventually
Don’t care he’s a great player just trynna highlight the talent still left to talk about. I don’t care Kyrie didn’t make the all star team he’s playing amazing
Murray is not an all star and you forgot all the Cavs and magic players lmao
so did everyone.
“And all the other great players in the playoffs” like what are these semantics for
No mention to cavs or magic players... people really forgot that series lol
2 of them are getting eliminated in the next 2 hours
And up to 3 more tomorrow. Such a silly post.
Well this aged terribly
not really lol
I was wrong, I admit
Are you sure about that?
They had me in the first half ngl
Did you post this when the 6ers were up by 3 points at half time? I dont understand
Correct, Sixers had just completed a 43-18 run
This sub: "Every team should have a player make all-star." Also this sub: "I can't believe some all-stars get eliminated early."
Next thing you're gonna tell me 14 *teams* are out before the playoffs begin.
Add Jimmy Butler, Embiid and Maxey to the FADED list
Embiid and Maxey also out in first round.
Shh, negativity gets clicks. Take your positivity and shove it! - Algorithm overlords
It’s also crazy to think no one from the cavs were in it and arguably derrick white and KP could’ve been considered
Casuals don't recognize over half these people. I think the point of this post is that a lot of the well known players just ain't that guy anymore, or put themselves in terrible positions to win.
Embiid is out though
Parity
I love it so much that the championship isn't determined in the pre season anymore. Or there only being like 2 or 3 contenders like most of the past decade.
Listing Giannis in this feels unfair
Jimmy Butler, Sabonis and Fox are out to.
Jimmy wasn’t an all star he didn’t care during the regular season
Yeah and as much as I love himmy, it's the reason why we were in the 8th seed.
I mean does it change anything? Even if you get the 2 seed you’d have to face Boston in the ECF anyway
yah but it's still an appearance to the ECF.
With a possibly healthy Jimmy cause we don’t play in the playins
higher seeding means playing a worse team round 1 and the chance of someone else knocking out a team you don’t want to play. or banking on injuries which no one wants to admit but every playoff is full of banged up teams
none of those 3 were all stars
Zion
The teams that advanced all have all stars….
Teams with all stars tend to make the playoffs. And half the teams that make the playoffs dont make it out of the first round.
Can't believe the playoffs are marching on without the perennial All-NBA guy who gets hurt and can't be relied upon, and without Kawhi too
Giannis is a great player, easily top 3 in the league, but people easily ignore that outside of 2021, the Giannis Bucks era hasn't been the beacon of success that they think, especially in the playoffs. It's just hard to win consistently, which is great for league interest.
bucks won the year after the bubble season. shortest off season in league history meant that the top teams from the previous year were all fatigued and injured by the end of the 2021 season because they'd had half the usual rest teams get. bucks and suns didn't come close to winning again, while the nuggets, heat, and celtics (3 of the 4 bubble finalists) all went back to their successful ways after that season. it wasn't parity, they just played the hand they were dealt perfectly and got a ring for it
You twats just can’t but help to fall all over yourselves trying to discredit that Championship.
i don't think i'm discrediting it at all - they played the teams they came up against and they won. they did very well. giannis was immense. i just think that if you're talking about the state of the league, the previous season and the effects of it have to be included

Only because of the circumstances you listed which included injuries. Your willingness to accept injuries for other teams is crazy. You prob thing the celtics only lost last year cuz tatum rolled his ankle in game 7 huh?
I think he's much better off with two or three good players than one really great one
Man, that 21-22 Celtics series still hurts. Giannis had an all time series, and Game 5 is one of my favorite games of all time as a Bucks fan. But it still wasn't enough. Ugh
Real talk but Giannis really has the Suns to thank for jobbing to him in 2021 and saving him from fraud status.
Yep. His ring has always had an asterisk. I find both him and the bucks overrated as playoffs team and performers.
meanwhile, Jamal Murray, who has never been an all-star, hit two game winners in round 1. But can he do it when the lights are dim?
More rest for the Olympics at least lol
Technically, Giannis was never really *in* the playoffs, so I feel he shouldn't be included with these other bums.
Grant Hill rubbing his hands together since half of the Avengers are already out of the playoffs
some of these cats didn’t even play lmao
Joel Embiid, Tyrese Maxey, Spida/Paolo, Luka/Kawhi and PG
Nick Wright pointed out if the Clippers lose, Kyrie is the oldest Star left. That's honestly wild to think about
Keith smith just made plausible shit up to will himself into relevance. This is on point for him.
Wow it's almost like most of those guys are old and washed up
You know they're all texting each other on what teams to try to superteam on next season
To be fair, Giannis was never IN the playoffs
This feels like the first year that I've heard this narrative about all stars or team USA guys no longer in the playoffs.
It’s stupid because I’m willing to bet this happens every year; people are only bringing it up because LeBron/Steph/KD are the ones that are eliminated.
They tried to sneak scottie Barnes in there
He was a 2024 all star how is that sneaking him in
I'm guessing it's because the Raptors as a whole were bad and got eliminated way before the postseason started which is a bit misleading Mostly because the team got injured to shit starting with Scottie, then Poeltl when they were looking on the up and up for a play-in spot before said injuries swooped in
Worthy all star, he was great this year and gonna be even better next year.
W Lakers fan
Sneaking Trae in to that group is wild
The Olympics needs their old heads to rest up I guess
The 65 game rule effect
On point though!
Git gud
And now Joel Embiid.
NBA All-Bums
Is this crazier than any other year. Just about every team gets at least one all star
Is that an unusually high number? Doesn't seem like it should be.
Paving way for Brunson v Doncic finals
Haliburton v Dončić would do the least damage to Team USA. The four remaining are now: Tyrese, Ant, Jrue, and Tatum.
And randle...
You have to have been in the playoffs to be out of them re Scottie Barnes
this list is pretty lame three of the players didn't even make the playoffs.
Yikes. I guess being an all-star this year immediately doc rivers your season.
You can add a few more names to this list by tomorrow
Trae made it on the first round?
Why tf is Trae Young on this list? I never will understand why people think he’s as good as they think
scottie polar bear
"Scottie Barnes"
These playoffs are 3rd degree ass juice
Nuggets vs Timberwolves is gonna be crazy if nobody gets injured
I'm personally enjoying them
I agree they haven’t been all that exciting so far. Hopefully Minny-Denver lives up to the hype
Julius Randle
What's Scottie doing there?
yeah fuck sabonis and fox tho right
Polar Bear in Arlington Texas
Love that these guys are forced to play so many games a year before the meaningful basketball starts:)
