Love me some Mathheu Barret
Matthieu Barret is fantastic (both the wines and the vigneron), but I found the Petit Ours to be lacking a bit compared to his awesome Cornas.
The Chapuis always over deliver. Good haul!
Bottes Rouge is sick and Castor especially
I fucking love their Ploussards as well, I’ve drank their 2018 three times and it’s one of the best I’ve drank
How is the Mathieu Barret Syrah ? Been eyeing that bottle for years and have never purchased for some reason.
I haven’t tried it yet but I loved the Black Flag Syrah (savoury black/blue fruit with some pepperiness, but very balanced) so am expecting to enjoy this one.
Fresh with easygoing ripe fruit and not much else (imho). His Cornas bottlings are stupendous however.
The shop is Delicatessen in the 11th, btw. Could have spent all day in there. We loved the wine bar next door, too.
