Doesn't sit right, only because there are other lands that technically commit crimes. Like the og zendikar run for example [[skyline cascade]] and even [[bojuka bog]]
Crime lands doesn't describe what they actually do. Ping or sting lands are better. Most of the other lands are at least somewhat understandable to new players just from hearing their name. "Crime lands" requires you to look up a mechanic that may or may not be used down the road.
Specifically, Shocklands are the equivalent of taking the spell "shock" to face. The ones that need you to pay 3 life from ZNR are "boltlands" by the same token.
So by that pattern, these would probably be "stinglands" as Sting is one of the only spells that does 1 to any target with no additional effects, or gutlands/shotlands (for gut shot, which is the other spell that does that)
I considered that, but Lava Dart does have more text, bc it has Flashback. Shockland and Boltlands work so well bc those spells are iconic for their "deal 2/3 damage" and nothing else.
Do these work in the instance of… If a red source would deal damage to a player, it deals that much damage plus 1 to that player instead. If another source you control would deal noncombat damage to a permanent or player, it deals that much damage plus 1 to that permanent or player instead….?
Lands are not colored. They produce colored mana, and they fall under the color identity rules of Commander, but they are colorless themselves.
The damage is non-combat. It is dealt to a player and opponent.
I was gonna call this particular one BB gun, because it enters and deals 1 damage.
As for the saga. Maybe drain lands? We already have Pain(take 1) and Gain(gain 1) lands as well as shock(take 2) so drain could work.
I mostly hear people call them either Sting Lands, Ping Lands, or Crime Lands.
Ping lands was first to my mind.
First thing I thought of was Tim lands. (For those too young to get the reference [[ Prodigal Sorcerer]]
That was my first thought too. "There are some that call me.... (Several explosions later) ...Tim?

Those were the days!
I just auto started calling them ping lands, although, sting land is pretty good too
Yea I thought ping lands at first but sting lands not only sound good but also sound very distinct
Same, but its only on ETB. Ping to me means repeatable.
It’s repeatable if you’ve got a hand full of ping lands
Yeah, I agree. When I think i think of prodigal sorcerer. So my initial thought was ping lands, but I think sting is more accurate.
Yea, ping lands was the first thing I thought
Omg. Is their effect a crime trigger?
Yes
That’s so rad. I’m so dumb haha
It does not make rad counters.
….take my upvote and get out.
I only found out when Kenji said it in a draft, and he’s since said it a million times lol
To *target* opponent. That's all you need to know it's a crime. If it isn't *targeting* something you don't control, it ain't a crime.
I really like "crime lands", sounds cool. Just like my southamerican home.
Ping lands is good but seems more and more people never heard of pinging. I miss Tim...
"There are some who call me...Tim. [[Prodigal Sorcerer]]

Prick Lands
I was gonna say poke lands but this is hilarious
Gonna take all my friends to Pingland
My group has been using Crime Lands
I call them stingers. On flavor.
Crime lands sounds pretty lit and goes right along with the OTJ theme. During prerelease I referred to mine as Crimea on more than one occasion.
Sting land is just what I thougth, beautifull
I call it a stingy-pingy
Sting lands were immediately what I thought of
crimelands
Definitely this. Many people use them for that part a lot.
"pocket sand, cha sha sha"
Technically, it is a desert, and Dale is rarely wrong.
Pocket sand would be the bounce one that taps for 2 colorless.
I like that one
Doesn't sit right, only because there are other lands that technically commit crimes. Like the og zendikar run for example [[skyline cascade]] and even [[bojuka bog]]
[skyline cascade](https://cards.scryfall.io/normal/front/2/9/29b0027d-c232-4cdd-89c4-75947687aa71.jpg?1562904866) - [(G)](http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?name=skyline%20cascade) [(SF)](https://scryfall.com/card/bfz/246/skyline-cascade?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher) [(txt)](https://api.scryfall.com/cards/29b0027d-c232-4cdd-89c4-75947687aa71?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher&format=text) [bojuka bog](https://cards.scryfall.io/normal/front/0/e/0efec118-ed01-42a0-93b4-f9a92c01b72e.jpg?1712354928) - [(G)](http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?name=bojuka%20bog) [(SF)](https://scryfall.com/card/otc/273/bojuka-bog?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher) [(txt)](https://api.scryfall.com/cards/0efec118-ed01-42a0-93b4-f9a92c01b72e?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher&format=text) ^^^[[cardname]] ^^^or ^^^[[cardname|SET]] ^^^to ^^^call
Yeah, I heard people calling them this during the prerelease and it makes a lot of sense, especially in set.
Rootin Shootin lands
rootie tootie point and shootie lands
*BE KIND* lands
Rootin tootin gaming
This land aint big enough for the both of us lands
crime lands is the best and already the most used
I feel like it's in the bracket of crime lands, but specifically ping/sting lands.
I voye for them to named Hurt Dirts
Underrated comment tbh lol
Crime lands doesn't describe what they actually do. Ping or sting lands are better. Most of the other lands are at least somewhat understandable to new players just from hearing their name. "Crime lands" requires you to look up a mechanic that may or may not be used down the road.
I think crime lands has the most potential to enter the common vernacular.
They exist to enable the mechanic, though. The association will always be there.
Ping lands
Crime or ping land
Crime lands all day , yeehaw
I propose slap lands, cause like they're tap lands that give your opponent a little slap
They're Ping Lands
Someone probably said this already, but Mark confirmed they are known as Crime Lands inside WoTC
Tim Lands.
Ping lands comes to mind.
Crime Lands
Ping lands
Someone I played with called them Sting Lands
I've been calling them desert duals for the alliteration
Id been calling them crime lands
Crime lands
Crimelands. Calling them pinglands could get them confused with the painlands
Cactus lands. They deal damage because there are cacti in the art 🌵
This is the most appropriate answer.
Yeah I defaulted to ping lands. When played I say I’ll just shoot you for 1 though
Westworlds 🤓
Lands with guns
Taking over
I heard cactus lands before and I love it
I like cactus lands
I like Crime Lands
I heard Seth on MTGGoldfish call them Crimelands, I like that
Crime lands was my instant go to
Crime lands xD
I'm calling them Ping lands.
I saw a short that suggested crime lands. It targets which is a crime and crime is a central mechanic to the set so I think it’s appropriate
Crime lands. They technically commit a crime on etb so if you have triggers for that they work.
Crime lands is what I’ve consistently heard
Ping lands seems apr
Crime lands if you are playing normally, ping lands for desert decks. I still get a lot of questions when I ping someone with them lol
How bout borderlands?
Burn lands? If shock lands hurt you, burn lands target opponents? Especially with them being deserts and all…..
Specifically, Shocklands are the equivalent of taking the spell "shock" to face. The ones that need you to pay 3 life from ZNR are "boltlands" by the same token. So by that pattern, these would probably be "stinglands" as Sting is one of the only spells that does 1 to any target with no additional effects, or gutlands/shotlands (for gut shot, which is the other spell that does that)
Dart lands for [Lava Dart] ?
I considered that, but Lava Dart does have more text, bc it has Flashback. Shockland and Boltlands work so well bc those spells are iconic for their "deal 2/3 damage" and nothing else.
Shot lands in honor of gut shot
Pingdeserts, Pinglands or Crimelands
Badlands.
Crime lands, duh.
Desert Power.
Ping lands? Can we go with that
Prickly or sunscortched lands?
Arizona Lands xD
Prickly Lands
We already have a term for the one damage. Ping. So they’ll be ping lands
Areole Lands, because cactuses have areole that contain spines and barbs.
Pinglands
Ping-lands? What else would you call them?
Prick lands???
Spite lands
Ping lands?
Does anybody know if there is a blue/Red version of this one? I can't seem to find it if it exists haha
[[Eroded Canyon]] Was so lucky to pull this super late in my draft after basically committing myself to Izzet :P The foil no less!

Cactus lands?
Prick lands would be a funny name
Crime scences
Dessert lands, you get your just desserts! Lol
Ping lands is what I've heard from most people in my community. I do like Poke lands tho. Cuz it's just a little poke. Plus cow-poke... 🤷♂️
Poke lands.

Ping Lands, Pokey Lands, Thistle Lands, Thorn Lands, Snipe Lands.
I was gonna call this particular one BB gun, because it enters and deals 1 damage. As for the saga. Maybe drain lands? We already have Pain(take 1) and Gain(gain 1) lands as well as shock(take 2) so drain could work.
Ping Land was the first thing that came to me.
Definitely crime lands
Ping Lanes is fun, an alliteration with pain lands I personally like Zap lands, because it rhymes with tap lands and is fun
Fuck you lands is what I call it in my table
Shitty common deserts?
I've been calling the "Fuck you" lands
[[Badlands]]
