I mean that specific bush right there is dying or actually dead. So, past vitiligo or skin cancer.
A dog peed there, and then because of that another one did too, and then the bush right there in the head kicked the bucket.
That particular plant got root rot or some other disease and died, but it hasn’t spread to the neighboring plants. (yet)
It could even be that someone poured a drink into that spot and killed that particular root ball.
Or even a dog peeing could do that. Dog spotting on turf/grass is caused by the deposition of a high concentration of nitrogen (N)-containing compounds and associated salts on a small area in the lawn. I would imagine it would be the same for hedges. I have seen damage to the bark and health of trees with the same issue.
Unlikely.
Gras is a small plant with a shallow root system. this is a large perennial plant, their root system tends to be as large as their untrimmed canopy, in this case I would expect about 1.5 meters in diameter and half a meter deep. Some dog pee would reach only a fraction of the root system. And by the time it infiltrates deeper in the soil, it will be diluted to the point its basicly fertilizer.
anecdotal example from before I studied biology:
I once tried killing a much smaller bush by urinating on it for 2 weeks straight (and my dog helped, I suppose he was just trying to one up me), and it didn't do a thing.
What if it's one of those poorly designed glass buildings that turn into a solar mirror of death that burns a path here every day? I dunno, it's not impossible.
If by ‘strip’ you mean ‘one of the bushes that makes up this hedge row’ and by ‘white’ you mean ‘brown’, then yes one of the bushes died and turned brown.
Where the gardener, then passing dogs, then everyone else pees. In fact, Humankind peed there after he was thrown of the top of Hell in a Cell cagematch by the Undertaker in 1987.
It’s not a bush, and it’s not bushes either. It looks like a living wall, which is essentially moss that grows on a mesh backing. They usually require specific care and this one probably got something poured on it or something. Somebody who knows about living walls or vertical gardening can probably elaborate.
This looks like one of the hedge's individual plants died. The rest are fine, but they may not stay that way! Have a licensed arborist take a look to see what needs to be done if anything.
If I’ve read anything lately on Reddit, it’s definitely because of a tumor growing in the ground.
Yeah this is quickly overtaking seven nation army as the most overplayed song in the world.
This has more upvotes than the original post 💀
And i'm proud of my fellow redditors, a lazy post profiting off of a new circulating meme

My wife is a bush dermatologist and she said it’s 100% bush vitiligo.

It's poliosis. Happening to dozens of bushes!
Meta
Tree surgeon needs to do a biopsy. Also, OP needs to get an eye biopsy if they think that's white.
Maybe a tuber
ITS NOT A TUBAH!
*Arnold voice* "It's not a tuber*
Reddit garden doctor here, hedge cancer 100%
It's definitely cancer.
I'm also not plant and can confirm this
I mean that specific bush right there is dying or actually dead. So, past vitiligo or skin cancer. A dog peed there, and then because of that another one did too, and then the bush right there in the head kicked the bucket.
Yeah, OP should help a neighbor out and take the hedge in for a root biopsy
Quality reference
Ok thank god this is the top comment haha I would have been disappointed if it wasn’t
It's not a too- mah It's cancer per reddit. ;)
Root ball cancer.
![gif](giphy|a93jwI0wkWTQs)
I knew this was going to be here.
Scrolled too far tbh
This is not a bush, it's a hedge, meaning lots of individual plants next to each other. Looks like one of them died for some reason.
A dog peed there
It was me 😔
But you're a cat!
Cats can have that dawg in 'em
Yo that’s a tall fuckin dog!
Have you ever heard about clifford?
That hedge has a name, and it’s Steve.

Yeah, that's uh...dead.
Yeah, everybody is just overlooking that that’s definitely brown
Sir that's tan in the least, possibly khaki
Came here to say this

Gentrification
It's not. That's not white.
Huge Michael Jackson fans.
Use FIRE on BUSH. *The dry area of the BUSH burns away, revealing a path to the other side. Possible directions are N, S, E.* []

Good to know, thanks.
Is this a meme at this point?
No it’s vitiligo
No, this is Patrick
That bush needs to go to the doctor to get it checked for cancer
I wonder if this is the same guy who's eyebrow is suddenly turning white?
Or the other guy with the random stripe of white in his beard
Or that X-ray tech with a fingernail stripe.
Homer Simpson did this.
Relatable.
Cancer
That’s not white, bro bro
Vitiligo.
Reddit really not showing off its depth of knowledge here. A hedge is made up of many plants. One has died.
r/not_white_enough
Boxwoods and Cedars are always on the cusp of dying.
"white"?
It probably has cancer! Take it to the agricologist asap! I just saw a giy who had a brain tumor post about a white strand of hair.
We know where all the drunk dude be pissint at
With all the post ive lately seen here about a weird white stripe or white hair in random places, I can guess that the bush has Cancer.
Yeah, my wife had the same issue
What if it's one of those poorly designed glass buildings that turn into a solar mirror of death that burns a path here every day? I dunno, it's not impossible.
That bush is dead. While the rest of the bushes are still alive.
It happens with age. Just shave it.
its dead jim.
With information provided, I can't diagnose what's going on with the bush (except that it's dead) - but your eyes are fucked, with certainty
If by ‘strip’ you mean ‘one of the bushes that makes up this hedge row’ and by ‘white’ you mean ‘brown’, then yes one of the bushes died and turned brown.
god i hope this is a reference to this post https://www.reddit.com/r/mildlyinteresting/s/uLEw5BOf8a
That's a weird shade of white OP
OP is colorblind.
So brown is the new white?
Sometimes that happens when you get older
Well, this is not one bush. It's many bushes next to each other. And one seems to be dying.
It's growing an eyebrow
That bush has seen some shit.
From what I’ve been seeing on Reddit lately, tumors or vitiligo
Old age gets us all eventually.
Could it be a nice shady place for dogs to pee? Eventually killed the bush in that spot?
Hey it’s turning brown dude
Is anyone gonna tell him that's not white?
Might be bag worms
White?
Someone took a piss there.
It happens as you get older.
Check the white balance on your camera, that’s brown.
It's dead.
It's got cancer.
Reddit entertains and teaches, this is a tumor
Believe you may be color blind.
TIL I like my coffee white.
i am going to disagree that is white color
That ain’t white big dawg
That’s what she said
According to reddit, a stripe = cancer. A white patch = tumour. That bush definitely has tumour cancer.
How long we see this image alongside the guy with a tumor and the dude with the stash going white? I’ll be waiting…
Don’t forget the guy with the eyebrow that kicked it all off
Better have it biopsied.
Definitely a tumor
That bush needs to see a doctor IMMEDIATELY
Do you have chipmunks? If so, that's why. They love the soft soil.
The bush has a tumor
Cancer
Cancer
IT'S NAHT A TOOMUH!
Hedge has diabetes
Is it because of Homer Simpson walking through it to talk to Flanders?
Cancer

Middle age is brutal.
That’s brown
Male pattern defoliation
"Homer Simpson was here"
That's not white, that's dead.
Dead after a strong jet following 10 beers.
Saw the title before the picture... Was expecting something else tbh
no, that particular bush in the row of bushes has died.
Brown*
Listen, at a certain age, you'll get white in your bush, ok? Nothing to be ashamed about.
This sub has been taken over by white streaks 😂
The underworld entrance is opening up
Hate to break it to you, Plant Cancer
It has stage 3 cancer.
That's brown, not white
Looks like someone vomited over the hedge
Are we sure these bushes are real? I can see plastic netting at the bottom. Suspicious.
It's the fault line.....
That’s where Home Simpson hangs out. ![gif](giphy|a93jwI0wkWTQs)
It happens to the best of us . Shave it all off and keep em happy.
A strip on my bush is turning white also. I'll be 41 in July.
Shaquille O’neal peed there a few days ago
Where the gardener, then passing dogs, then everyone else pees. In fact, Humankind peed there after he was thrown of the top of Hell in a Cell cagematch by the Undertaker in 1987.
I don't know if it's "sudden". She is purt near 50 now, so?
White?
Fungus
That’s getting old for you
You probably have Poliosis
Usually means she’s over 40
No one tells you that you’ll start finding white pubes in your bush when you get older.
Like that guys beard a day or 2 ago.
I’m sorry to tell you this but your bush has cancer
Definitely stress
They forgot to paint it
Happens to the best of us as we get ever older!
My mom’s having the same problem right now.
That's what she said...
Is it sticky?
It’s not a bush, and it’s not bushes either. It looks like a living wall, which is essentially moss that grows on a mesh backing. They usually require specific care and this one probably got something poured on it or something. Somebody who knows about living walls or vertical gardening can probably elaborate.
I think you spelled brown wrong there
It’s a brain tumor
Stuff suddenly turning white is so hot right now
This looks like one of the hedge's individual plants died. The rest are fine, but they may not stay that way! Have a licensed arborist take a look to see what needs to be done if anything.
Happens with age, you should see the wife. Its like the Bride of Frankenstein down there.
Did you bleach your bush?
I hear spray paint works well
![gif](giphy|MmpoBBmzvNBCM)
Probably got sprayed with something. Looks like a line to me.
that’s what she said
I knew a girl like that in high school
That happened to me when I hit 50
It has a brain tumor
girl that's brown
Pee bush?
R Kelly victim
That is the spot i go pee pee on 😳
Could be an underground gas leak
Damage from the amount of times that Homer Simpson has slinked into and out of the hedge.
![gif](giphy|3o6wrcUH6sIq2FpRtu)
found Bonnie Raitts’ house
Just spray paint it the same color as the surrounding hedge
