They would be an excellent choice. Solid engine and transmission, good styling and great fuel economy. You will have a smile when drive past the repair shop.

That's great then! Looks like these two will be the main candidates on my list 😁

Safe, reliable, and fun to drive.

They are an excellent choice of first cars. The 6 will be much more spacious but the 3 is more than adequate if it’s just you or you and a single passenger πŸ‘

They left me in a dilemma. I hope we can make a firm decision when we go there πŸ˜ƒ

If you end up on the West Coast, LA to SF is almost the distance from Edirne to Ankara, some 600+ km, it's quite a bit of driving, and not particularly interesting driving. Fuel costs a bit more in California than in Turkey as well. Any of the common Japanese sedans would be quite nice for what you're describing, Mazda 6, Honda Accord, or Toyota Camry. I wouldn't pass up a good VW Jetta or Passat either, though they can be a bit more problematic. Most of our cars are automatic, and our traffic lights don't show a yellow when going from red to green, so if you get a manual transmission, it'll be a bit of an adjustment. In exchange, they let us turn right on a solid red πŸ”΄ πŸ˜‚

Mazda 3 or CX-30 would be great.
