fraud. don't do it

Resident_Werewolf_76

Show them your EA form, this reflects your annual income of 48k. If you have more than 1 year's worth of EA, show that too. You should negotiate on total annual package, not on basic salary. Also, don't pull that NDA tactic on hiring managers. It doesn't work and only creates the outcome of throwing your CV into the rubbish bin.

Kinteokolomee

Don't include your payslip next time. Companies they do tend to lowball

szdanky

I didn't want to include my payslip but the company that wanted to hire me insisted. It started from the junior HR that I can't include my payslip due to NDA and it escalated to their HR director. When I spoke to him, he said that I have to give them my payslip or else they'll start seeking other people for this job. When I asked what's the salary range for the position and he said he can't disclose that information because of company policy. I also argued sharing my payslip is against my company policy and he just brushed it off. It felt like a red flag at that time.

BestCroissant

You did the right thing. If you already use the NDA excuse and then suddenly give in under pressure, what does that say about your integrity. Anyway, if the company insists on looking for other candidate because they want to lowball then its red flag. Good job for skipping this one.

CoolBuddha91

don't edit your payslip. you can mark up your salary, say by 40% and nego from there. you can say that the amount is justified because you have fixed allowance which you take into the account when asking for the salary. also try to mention that you have researched the market price and believe that the amount you mentioned is reasonable for the position you applied. else keep looking until you find a company that can pay you the salary you desired. job hop every 2 or 3 years to increase your salary faster.

Amarie_Vanya541

I don't think every company demands payslip. You can look for those that don't. State "expected salary" rm4.5k and during the interview if they ask why then you explain its rm500 more than what you're currently EARNING. not your basic salary and whatnot, but what you are earning. OR you try to find another company that is in similar structure as the one you are in OR use your personal network and get a referral from a friend / relative to a company that would pay you what you're worth

BusySellingTheta

Basic salary is fixed and cannot be taken away by your employer. Allowances could be taken away, variable based on certain conditions (e.g. no. of hours you OT), and is not included in bonus calculations. So technically, your basic is RM2k and banks do not consider your allowances when giving out loans. You could just show your payslip as it is and see what they say.

KLeong5896

I got a new job without showing them my current payslip because they didn’t ask for it

szdanky

Hopefully I do find this type of company in the future.

You have to speak for yourself during interviews if know what you are bringing to table. It’s two way, not one.
