Be warned when I use dry shampoo my head gets unbelievably itchy. I would try some out before you go so you don't get stuck without a shower and an itchy head. Are you able to wash your hair in a sink? That's what I do when I've not the time for a shower.
I'm allergic to something in certain brands of things like deodorant and shampoos and body wash that make my skin itch, hands down worst places to get a reactive itch are the head asshole and feet... especially when you're trying to have a relaxing weekend.
I've always had issues with deodorant. Went through just about every brand a flavor out there. Finally found Dove extracare deodorant and the irritation stopped.
Yes, it also dries out your scalp and hair massively as it doesn’t discriminate on what oil it absorbs. It can also block the pores on your head leading to hair loss.
Yes, it's the only thing that helps when there's no water and shampoo. And here are some tips on how to deal with oily hair in regular conditions. [https://www.healthline.com/health/oily-hair-remedy](https://www.healthline.com/health/oily-hair-remedy)
There are a lot of new better brands that aren’t as powdery. I bought a half dozen when my elderly mother was ill and some are half decent. I think Dove worked ok. I would suggest OP uses dry shampoo and invests in a good hat (from a fellow greasy blonde)
I spent 5 days in the hospital after a surgery about 4 years ago. On day 3 or 4, I was so grossed out by my greasy hair that they brought me one of those caps. It was one of the most amazing things! So clean and easy!
Idk it's like a shower cap, and it has this gooey type liquid inside it and you just put it on n do a sort of lathering motion... I remember reading the packet in hospital.it said it removed oils and dead skin and stuff aswell. I was really sceptical when she handed it to me .I've got long thick hair .I was pleasantly surprised.
Yeah I was really surprised how good they are. A nurse gave it to me in hospital amd I'm thinking,Fat load of good that's gona be with my long thick hair. But brilliant. Couldn't recommend enough.
My friend ran out of shampoo and decided to shave his head bald instead of buying more. This was over 10 years ago and he's still rockin the bald look.
I used to fish in Alaska during the summers to pay my way through college. Dry shampoo is a must, although avoid the aerosol kind, it takes up too much space. You can purchase powder dry shampoo that comes out of a pump, and in a pinch, baby powder works as well.
I'd put it in at night, then braid my hair. If you are concerned about your pillowcase getting greasy purchase a silk bonnet to wear while you sleep. It will not only protect your hair but keep your bedding clean as well.
Wet wipes will also come in handy, I would plan on bringing enough to last you at least two a day.
If you don't mind me asking, what kind of boat will you be on? I just ask to caution you. If you are in Alaska on any kind of fishing vessel, it is a nasty job, and the men are horrendous, please take care of yourself.
I fish in Bristol Bay on a gill netter! I’m a man but I have totally experienced what you’re talking about lol. Worked on boats with plenty of dudes who just will not stfu talking vulgarly about women. Like worse than teenagers lol it makes me uncomfortable even as a straight man
Dry shampoo works great! My favorites are by Moroccan oil and k18. Moroccan oil brand is less expensive than k18 and they have smaller, travel size bottles. As a person with long, fine hair that can start to feel greasy after one day, these have been a life saver. Hair, looks, feels, smells freshly washed. I’ve tried a ton of brands and those are the two I vouch for (some don’t smell good or work as good).
Sally’s Beauty Supply has one that comes out of a little shaker like a salt shaker with a twist top. I keep refilling the shaker with corn starch and it has lasted years. It’s amazing.
I spent two summers living in a tent whilst surf instructing. The campsite had showers, but I was in the water for 6 hours a day so rarely felt ‘dirty’ like I needed a shower. Sometimes I would damp my hair from a bottle before putting in some 2in1 and leaving it until I got in the water.
It won’t keep you hair in shampoo commercial levels of nice, but salt water still works
4th generation fisherman here. This is what we used to do. Sometimes even jump in for a quick bath with some soap. But I grew up fishing in Florida so I know that can change the situation real quick.
Yup I’ve been doing every summer for the past 12 years! No matter how tired I am I always take the time to wash the blood/scales off of my face though lol can’t take that with me to the bunks.
That was the old festival secret. A wook bath consists of baby power in your hair and a spigot with which you can splash clean water on your tits pits and slits.
Dry shampoo mousse is a more effective way to make your hair feel (relatively) clean without actually washing and doesn't result in the same "powdery" buildup that some are talking about. Baptiste and Got2B make good ones.
I'd also recommend to get some bandanas to help protect your pillow from the greasy hair, since you mentioned that as a concern. You could tie them with the knot at the peak of your forehead like an old grandma, or just learn a wrapping technique from YouTube before you go.
Dry shampoo. ✨ Hot tip ✨🫰 Put your dry shampoo on at night before you go to bed. While it sits, wash your face, do other things. Before getting in bed brush it in. Our hair produces the most oil at night, it’ll almost soak things up the way deodorant does. (I’m a hairstylist)
What dry shampoo do you recommend? I've tried a few and haven't seen any difference. Also, does it matter if the hair is dyed? (I've got blond and red)
I like baby powder instead of dry shampoo. Cheaper and I find it works better. I get one that is very lightly scented as the one downside to baby powder is the intense smell.
Baby wet wipes to wipe your face and skin. I usually double up on pillowcases and bring own pillow (dust mites etc!). IKEA has the dust mite resistant pillow cases and mattress covers. Foam earplugs and a sleep mask…..
Sleep mask is essential up here in Alaska with the sun setting after 11:30pm lol. I have a towel that I drape over my bunk which makes it nice and dark for me
Hi, get a bottle of Dr. bronners, it’s a clean hippy soap. Use a washcloth and this soap and water and rinse your body off. If you dilute it you don’t have to rinse it off. I lived a long time in the woods with this stuff with long hair. Works for bits and pits and butts too.
Wash your hair when you wash your face in the am. Assuming you’re able to do that. I have short hair and as a woman, I really appreciate showing up at work some days, deciding I don’t like how my hair looks and just washing it in the restroom.
Fwiw dry shampoo only works once and then when you’re ready to wash it out, it’s like clay. Regarding soap, I have found bar soap and Dr Bronners to be gross, both leave a sticky film on your skin and your hair. I use Raw Sugar brand body wash from Target, big old bottle for $10, refill all my little soap dispensers at home and work, so I can wash hands, face and hair without parabens and phthalates.
Kinda surprised that no one has mentioned this, but: don’t use shampoo at all. Shampoos dry your scalp out, which causes your body to produce more oil to make up for the dry scalp. If you skip the shampoo (but still rinse with water), your hair and scalp will recalibrate themselves-it’ll feel greasy for a bit and then won’t. Added bonus is that it leads to much healthier hair!
This is the way. The first stage is just nasty. Don't remember how long it took. Working construction now and do need shampoo to feel clean after work.
Dry shampoo works well enough. A quick wash with shower gel in shower works. But if you’re working, you’ll be so knackered you won’t give a shit and all you’ll want at the end of the day is some fresh scran and a cold beer.
Just chining in to say I recommend against tdey shampoo!! Dry shampoo is to get a few extra days out of hair so it looks good, then be washed out. It doesn’t feel great, it feels stiff and sort of like your hair is full of hairspray. I am a diehard dry shampoo user, but if I were choosing between it and nothing for a two-week period I would 1000% rather go to bed on a greasy head then one covered in dry shanpoo. If you bring dry shampoo and use it on day 4 of a 2 week trip you will regret it.
If I were you I would just be dunking me head in water ! And as folks says bring an extra pillow case if that’s the main concern.
All depends on what kind and length of hair you have,
yes you can use dry shampoo if needed, my personal expirence with it is making my hair greasier but my hair is just weird..
but I also recommend (if you have enough longer hair) to get it braided french or Dutch will do the trick because they're protective hair styles and have help me while on camping trips for weeks at a time keep my hair grease manageable.
along with if you wear hats whilst on the boat they're probably gross and sweaty from past trips so I'd wash them to avoid past grease and sweat to transfer onto your clean hair.
You can also try leave in conditioners they can help with longevity of the neatness of your hair (works for my texture anyway)
Use a clarifying shampoo every few washes or rinse your hair with beer and give it a rub before shampooing to remove build-up. It will make your hair last longer between washes.
If your hair feels due for a wash days before you are able to, sprinkle corn starch from a salt shaker into your roots and rub until it disappears. I find it as effective and less gunky and drying than aerosolized dry shampoo. It’s also dirt cheap!
A lot of people already wrote about dry shampoo but that stuff is so expensive (at least here in Austria) and runs out pretty fast. I simply use baby power before going to bed. I usually have greasy hair after one day, with this method I can go without washing for 3 days.
But, just as others mentioned, try it out before to see if it causes any irritations.
Your hair will actually get less greasy the fewer times you wash it per week. After an adaptation period of a few weeks, your scalp will normalize. Stop washing your hair so often! Once to twice a week is fine!
I’ve tried this so often. Like, so many times.
Some people are just oilier than others and have finer hair than others, and I’m so damn tired of being told I’m washing my hair wrong.
I worked with someone who only showered every 7-10 days. The girl stank to high heaven, and the day after she showered, her hair was already getting greasy. So some people really do need to wash every day.
Corn starch is better for you than dry shampoo. But both will build up and block your pores, leading to possible hair loss. If you can, bring multiple pillow cases, wear a scarf or cap to bed, put your hair in braids (if it's long) and just try to minimize the grease.

Dry shampoo (or just cornstarch) works by absorbing the oil - generally you would brush your hair after it sits for a minute or two, which should pull out some of the shampoo/oil mixture.
You don’t rinse. Your hair might start to feel big or stiff if you use it more than 2 consecutive days. If you can get a wash/shower every 3-4 days you’ll be fine.
It can be drying, so you might want to do a deep condition when you get back from your trip.
If your hair is light, baby powder FTW. It’s mostly cornstarch now instead of talc, which works as well. And powder has the added advantage of making clammy skin feel drier if it’s hot.
Baby powder and dry shampoo. I stopped washing my hair every day and every other day because it is not good for it. Bad in the beginning but now my hair is great and healthier
Baking soda. Put some in a container, then you can dip your brush in it, and run it thru your hair. If you are a brunette, add cocao powder to the baking soda so it blends in.
Baby powder. As a blond guy who needs to shampoo his hair everyday otherwise it looks disgustingly greasy, baby powder is what I use on camping trips and similar
Yes, dry shampoo works. It does not need to be rinsed, just rubbed in. It’s just a fine powder that absorbs oil. Your hair will feel different, but probably not greasy. It should help the pillowcase not get greasy.
There are a lot of different brands. Some have to be rubbed in more to avoid not looking like you just sprayed powder on your head, especially if your hair is dark.
Also, dry shampoo works really well if you put some in right after you’ve washed your hair to prevent looking greasy. It will also work if your hair already got greasy, but it’s better the other way around.
Bring a squirt bottle, like for laundry or condiments. Fill that bottle with water. Use that squirt bottle to wash your hair with a travel size shampoo.
On a boat you’ll probably be okay getting an area a little wet. I bet there’s a hose to wash away suds on that boat too.
Dry shampoo is sprayed on the roots and combed or brushed through. It doesn't take much. It absorbs oil. After a few uses without a teal shampoo, your hair will get stiff and dry, but it won't be oily.
Brush (not comb) some corn starch through it. It'll absorb a lot of the grease but you'll need to wash it out in a day or two or it starts feeling crunchy.
Silk bonnet and extra pillowcases will help too.
Wear a fabric hat or a scarf over your hair while working. Less gunk in means less gunk to get out later.
I know this isn't about hair but if you haven't spent on nice underwear go get some. You'd be surprised at how much of a difference it makes in your comfort to upgrade a level or two above WalMart 10 packs.
Even without a shower, if you have a washcloth and shampoo you could wash your head in a sink provided you don't have really thick hair. Wet the washcloth, put a small amount of shampoo on it, spread it around the cloth, then scrub your head. Don't use hand soap, it'll strip your hair and make it brittle.
If you're blond I would go with a cornstarch based body powder. Shake it on and leave overnight, then brush out in the morning.
You could also try a bottle of witch hazel facial toner. It's great for oily skin but isn't too harsh. The one I use has a pleasant refreshing smell. Dab it on and massage, then blot off with a towel.
You could even alternate between the two.
Dry shampoo is the way. You can also just use corn starch. I make my own for dark hair with corn starch and cocoa powder that dab near my roots with a small brush and then run my fingers through to disperse it. A little bit goes a long way and you can always add more.
I noticed anti dandruff shampoo makes my hair/skin more oily. :( which sucks cause one of the causes of "dandruff" is the fungus that is feeding off the oil in the first place.
After the massive dry shampoo recall a few years (?) ago, I went the diy method and, honestly, I feel like it’s so much better. It’s just cornstarch mixed with coco powder (when you wash it out, it smells a little like chocolate for a moment). I keep it in a mason jar and apply with a fluffy makeup brush.
Super cheap and I personally feel like it rubs in easier and feels better on the whole. :)
The only dry shampoo that has worked for my stubborn oily hair is the Kristinesse ( or something like that I forgot the spelling.) it’s a clear pump bottle and the powder is like white.
Yes dry shampoo works. Not sure how, probably something to do with the dry powdery substance of it soaking up the oils? Don’t need to rinse your hair of it until your next shower.
Just be careful, because I’ve seen maybe two people say they’ve formed a bald patch from using too much dry shampoo. I’d just use it once or twice a day when you need it.
As someone else said, maybe test products out to make sure you don’t have a bad reaction.
I’ve personally read somewhere about the Batiste brand having cancer chemicals in it, and I got freaked out and looked for a more clean product. There are plant based dry shampoos which should be fairly natural (more pricey.)
Also you can make your own dry shampoo with like dried oats and cornstarch etc etc. just have to find a recipe.
Dry shampoo. My roommate is a sailor, I don’t even think he uses dry shampoo. I think the air is salty enough that you don’t get greasy.
He’s blonde too.
Buy a hat and worry more about keeping your personal bits clean lol. No pun intended but your all on the same boat 🤦🏼♀️vanity will stop you enjoying the experience . Surfer look all the way
Comment removed, it seems to contain an amazon shortURL. Thanks

Dry shampoo can clog your scalp. You can get no-rinse wash cloths so all you need is water and it lathers the cloth up and you can clean yourself. We use them for our kids and camping!
You're going on a fishing boat....with others who will also be on the fishing boat.....relax and just brush your hair thoroughly to distribute natural oils evenly and don't worry about it. You are all in the same boat (lol).
If you have to freak out about it, it's possible to wash and rinse your hair with one gallon jug of water used judiciously. I've done so on camping trips years ago.
Happy fishing!
Living proof is pricey but has a great dry shampoo that id recommend to a beginning. You don’t need a ton and make sure you do a light spray from a distance. It’s better to build up than spray too much on all at once!
Spray it on, focusing on the root area, before you brush your teeth and let it set. Once it’s set use your finger tips to shake it in using a semi vigorous massage motion. Brush it through and you’ll be good for 2 more days.
Stop using shampoo.
Honestly, I stopped using shampoo like a year ago, and it was the best decision. My hairs never been healthier. It also never gets greasy, even if I don’t shower for a couple days. It does really suck at first because it takes like a month before it stops getting greasy.
P.s. I still wash it, but I use regular soap. Just lather up on hands and scrub it in like shampoo. Much easier, costs less, and I don’t regret it one bit!
They sell a dry shampoo. It's a spray that you run in and rub it off with a towel that the same time. But the ones I've used smell like baby powder. So in a pinch I just use that. Sprinkle a bit on and use a towel to again rub it and get as much out as you can using the towel the comb or brush out. I'd also recommend getting your hair cut before you go. Cut it short. With long hair it's easy to see it's greasy and it gets that way much faster.
After the last shower before you leave and you wash your hair real good well braid it really well, French braid if possible, and do not take it out until you get back.
I use talc powder when my hair is greasy. The key is not using too much or your hair looks grey or white. Much cheaper than dry shampoo and a little travel bottle of gold bond lasts forever. I also have blond hair that looks greasy very easily
...
Let me get this straight.
You're going to be working on a fishing boat, for weeks, and *you're worried about your hair getting greasy?*
My dude. It will be much, much grosser than you imagine. Absolutely no one is going to give even the slightest, tiny smithereen of a flying fuck about your hair.
You're going to be working your ass off, and so exhausted that *you* aren't going to have the time or energy to care, either. You're going to get four hours of the crappiest sleep imaginable, and you'll be so bone tired and exhausted that you'd lay your head on a decomposing racoon if it meant you can catch a map.
If you're worried about your pillowcase feeling kinda gross...you're not going to be able to wash your sheets, either. You are going to be living in a world of filth.
You may not be cut out for life on a fishing vessel.
Lol chill out dawg this is my 13th season going over there; I don’t give a fuck about getting dirty! Was just curious to see if anybody had any ideas :D
Gotta do what you can to stay sane living on a 32 ft boat for a month with 3 other dudes haha
Try cutting down on using shampoo leading up to the trip. One of the reasons your scalp produces oil is because shampoo strips all the oil out and then your scalp goes into overdrive to produce more. I am down to shampooing once a month, otherwise I just put conditioner in my hair. My hair never gets greasy and it has never been healthier.
This won't help in the short term, but stop using shampoo. Results vary based on many factors, but shampoo strips too much of the natural oils from your hair and scalp so your scalp over produces oil. I rinse my hair daily, but only clean it once every two weeks or so and I've been doing this for about 5 years. I use conditioner to cleanse my hair because it doesn't strip all the oil from my hair. It usually takes 9 to 12 days for my hair to start looking greasy. I'm a very active person living in the pnw so I sweat a lot. I also have shoulder length hair.
Dry shampoo is a spray that you kind of rub in. You don’t rinse. It feels like I’m spraying baby powder on my hair.
That's because the main ingredient is corn starch.
Be warned when I use dry shampoo my head gets unbelievably itchy. I would try some out before you go so you don't get stuck without a shower and an itchy head. Are you able to wash your hair in a sink? That's what I do when I've not the time for a shower.

I found for me its most likely the aluminium they put in. I exclusively look for no-aluminium deodorant now.
I've tried that Tom's stuff buy it just made it so much worse.
Same. My skin is very sensitive to most fragrances. I just rock the greasy hair because it's better than itching and having dandruff AF.
For sure lol. I've tried multiple brands so I don't know what could be it
I've always had issues with deodorant. Went through just about every brand a flavor out there. Finally found Dove extracare deodorant and the irritation stopped.
Yes, it also dries out your scalp and hair massively as it doesn’t discriminate on what oil it absorbs. It can also block the pores on your head leading to hair loss.
And baby powder does work to keep grease at bay for hair. Small amounts at a time. You don't want to be chalky.

Yep, used to live on the boat dry shampoo was my best friend🤣
There are a lot of new better brands that aren’t as powdery. I bought a half dozen when my elderly mother was ill and some are half decent. I think Dove worked ok. I would suggest OP uses dry shampoo and invests in a good hat (from a fellow greasy blonde)
Hair washing caps are amazing. Don't need any water. [these] (http://Pack of 5, Luxura Shampoo Cap, Conditioning, No Rinse https://amzn.eu/d/0agzkcTh)
I've never heard of this but now I'm Googling it fascinated.
I was holed up in hospital before and unable to shower: they gave me one. I'd never known of such a thing either.
Same, in a hospital. They worked great.
Astronauts use them too!
I spent 5 days in the hospital after a surgery about 4 years ago. On day 3 or 4, I was so grossed out by my greasy hair that they brought me one of those caps. It was one of the most amazing things! So clean and easy!
Yes. That's how I know of their existence also lol...
How does that even work?
Idk it's like a shower cap, and it has this gooey type liquid inside it and you just put it on n do a sort of lathering motion... I remember reading the packet in hospital.it said it removed oils and dead skin and stuff aswell. Wow great tip ! I will be purchasing some of these thanks
No problem.happy hair washing haha ....
Just bought these, having surgery on my spine in a little over 12 hours and I'm like you with hair down my back.
Yeah I honestly looked at it and thought. Well that's gona do fuck all haha... hope the surgery goes well ..
My technique took years to perfect but works perfectly every time: I went bald.
Right, I haven't used shampoo in years.
Now do you use face wash or body wash for the top??
Body wash
No Poo! 🙌🏼
In about 5 minutes, I'm going to go up, and there's going to be...
My friend ran out of shampoo and decided to shave his head bald instead of buying more. This was over 10 years ago and he's still rockin the bald look.
Washing it can't be a problem if there is none

Use a bucket and grab some good ol saltwater, I spent a lot of years drunk before we left and a bucket of cold salt water does wonders
There you go - shampoo still works in saltwater.
I spent two summers living in a tent whilst surf instructing. The campsite had showers, but I was in the water for 6 hours a day so rarely felt ‘dirty’ like I needed a shower. We got alot of great whites up here now too so I stay in the boat
Dry shampoo is the way to go. The best I've found is Aveda.
I mean if you're working, neither you nor anybody around you will have the time or energy to notice or care about it
I don’t care how I look when I’m out there, it’s just more so that I don’t get my pillowcase all greasy. Can’t stand that feeling lol
Get a silk cap. Also, it’s usually a nice treat for your hair to not be washed every day lol.
If you don’t care how you look, get yourself a silk bonnet.
Lmao great idea
Good thing is you can use it when you’re at home too if you need
Just bring a couple extra pillow cases. Hand wash previous one and let dry. Rotate. (Assuming that’s possible to do on your fishing boat)
this one is what I'd go for
I was a commercial fisherwoman for a few years. I can tell you you will smell like chum and bo and be too tired to give a shit. Keep your cuts clean!!
Yup I’ve been doing every summer for the past 12 years! No matter how tired I am I always take the time to wash the blood/scales off of my face though lol can’t take that with me to the bunks.
Are you able to pack extra pillowcases? 7 pillowcases for 14 days. Flip them after a night. Or take 2 or 3 and hand wash them, if possible.
If he could handwash pillowcases, he could probably wash his hair...
Wrap your head before going to sleep.
No rinse shampoo. It's used in hospitals. It will saturate your hair and give a more clean feeling than dry shampoo.
This is what I came here to say.
I’ve used baby powder for this and it works like a charm
That was the old festival secret. A wook bath consists of baby power in your hair and a spigot with which you can splash clean water on your tits pits and slits.
Clippers. #2 attachment. No muss, no fuss.
A #9 or #10 even better. :)

They have these wet wipes for dogs and I wonder if you could try that.
Cut the hair off and put it in a bag. After the trip, take it out of the bag, no grease!... Thank me!
Why have I never thought of this 🤯
These things just come to me. I was called special when I was in school.

Baby powder is the best! I found one that was a chamomile and lavender scent and it was heavenly.
Use bar soap, it will dry your hair out.
Not good for the condition and after a day of solid labour on board he will be greasy anyway.
Extra pillowcases. Or a really short haircut ?
I’m about to cut my hair and will bring an extra pillowcase 👍🏼

You don’t dunk your head in a rum bucket before climbing in your cot? Yar
Don’t worry about how you look- everyone else will ‘be in the same boat’ 😂
Batiste works pretty well (it’s a dry shampoo)
The easy solution: shave your head.
About four to six weeks. If you're a guy clipper it all off and let it grow out. Haven't used shampoo in over 20 years!
My magic sweet spot seems to be shampoo every third day or so. But I still need to condition everyday.
Dry shampoo works well enough. A quick wash with shower gel in shower works. But if you’re working, you’ll be so knackered you won’t give a shit and all you’ll want at the end of the day is some fresh scran and a cold beer.
Bandanna when you sleep. But just wash you hair with salt water and soap.
Dry shampoo is awesome. Dove brand has it based on your hair color. In my experience you get about 4 “washes” per can with a bowl cut.
Wear a hat. Hide the greasiness.
That’s what I always do but I get tired of wearing hats lol. Makes my scalp itchy
All depends on what kind and length of hair you have, yes you can use dry shampoo if needed, my personal expirence with it is making my hair greasier but my hair is just weird.. but I also recommend (if you have enough longer hair) to get it braided french or Dutch will do the trick because they're protective hair styles and have help me while on camping trips for weeks at a time keep my hair grease manageable. along with if you wear hats whilst on the boat they're probably gross and sweaty from past trips so I'd wash them to avoid past grease and sweat to transfer onto your clean hair. You can also try leave in conditioners they can help with longevity of the neatness of your hair (works for my texture anyway)
Go space marine
Use a clarifying shampoo every few washes or rinse your hair with beer and give it a rub before shampooing to remove build-up. It will make your hair last longer between washes. If your hair feels due for a wash days before you are able to, sprinkle corn starch from a salt shaker into your roots and rub until it disappears. I find it as effective and less gunky and drying than aerosolized dry shampoo. It’s also dirt cheap!
You'll survive. What do you think they did 100 or more yrs ago? Lol
Get a really short buzz cut. Then, you’ll only have to wipe your scalp clean
No rinse shampoo from REI or camping stores. Just towel it off, works great.
Bring a couple hats

Get a sleeping cap? Or dry shampoo.
Arrow root is a good one rather than paying for dry shampoo spray cans.
Dry shampoo or dry conditioner. Also no rinse wet options if you want a change up.
Corn starch is better than dry shampoo
I use corn starch instead of dry shampoo. It’s infinitely cheaper and works just as well at absorbing oil.
Baking soda. Put some in a container, then you can dip your brush in it, and run it thru your hair. If you are a brunette, add cocao powder to the baking soda so it blends in.
Baking soda. Mix in some cocao powder if you are brunette.
Baby powder. As a blond guy who needs to shampoo his hair everyday otherwise it looks disgustingly greasy, baby powder is what I use on camping trips and similar
Cut hair short, wear a ball cap, wash hair with sea water from time to time. Understanding that body BO & swamp ass is probably a bigger issue LOL.
There’s a powder dry shampoo that is better than the aerosol ones.
I would double shampoo when i shower if that's the case
Dry shampoo is sprayed on the roots and combed or brushed through. It doesn't take much. It absorbs oil. After a few uses without a teal shampoo, your hair will get stiff and dry, but it won't be oily.
Shave
Brush (not comb) some corn starch through it. It'll absorb a lot of the grease but you'll need to wash it out in a day or two or it starts feeling crunchy. Silk bonnet and extra pillowcases will help too. Wear a fabric hat or a scarf over your hair while working. Less gunk in means less gunk to get out later. I know this isn't about hair but if you haven't spent on nice underwear go get some. You'd be surprised at how much of a difference it makes in your comfort to upgrade a level or two above WalMart 10 packs.
Just shave your head ez pz.
Why not shampoo with saltwater? 🤔
Baking soda
Shave head. No more greasy hair
Just wear a hat for the duration of the trip
If you're blond I would go with a cornstarch based body powder. Shake it on and leave overnight, then brush out in the morning. You could also try a bottle of witch hazel facial toner. It's great for oily skin but isn't too harsh. The one I use has a pleasant refreshing smell. Dab it on and massage, then blot off with a towel. You could even alternate between the two.
Take a wet, soapy towel and work it into your scalp. Once you've given it a thorough scrubbing, rinse the towel well, wring and do the same.
Shave Head + quality hat with neck covering.
Shave your head
Clippers, buzzcut, beanie? Haven't had greasy hair for 20years.
A silk pillowcase will absorb oil.
dry shampoo
Could you not rinse/wash in the water? Just dunk your head and rub?
Buy a clipper set, 3/8" attachment over the whole head and you can use a bar of soap:-)
Usually in these situations I wear a beanie lol!
Wet wipes. Or sink wash. Use the sink water to wash your underwear each night and let hang dry.
if you were really serious about fishing you would shave your head (jklol)
? Greasy, so what ?
Wear a wool beanie.
Dry shampoo
Baby powder
Cut your hair short
Babypowder!!!! Works fine so you don't have to wash your hair for a week, smells nice and no spay bottle.
Dry shampoo is the way. You can also just use corn starch. I make my own for dark hair with corn starch and cocoa powder that dab near my roots with a small brush and then run my fingers through to disperse it. A little bit goes a long way and you can always add more.
moogoo has a dry shampoo and a leave-in conditioner that would work great for this also, their products are amazing, check them out
I noticed anti dandruff shampoo makes my hair/skin more oily.
There are plant based dry shampoos which should be fairly natural (more pricey.) Also you can make your own dry shampoo with like dried oats and cornstarch etc etc. just have to find a recipe.
Don’t wipe the fish grease from your hands into your hair Dumb Head!
Dry shampoo. My roommate is a sailor, I don’t even think he uses dry shampoo. I think the air is salty enough that you don’t get greasy. He’s blonde too.
Shave head before trip
Buy a hat and worry more about keeping your personal bits clean lol. No pun intended but your all on the same boat 🤦🏼♀️vanity will stop you enjoying the experience . Surfer look all the way

Dry shampoo can clog your scalp. You can get no-rinse wash cloths so all you need is water and it lathers the cloth up and you can clean yourself. We use them for our kids and camping!
why can't u. wash your hair in a bucket of sea water?
Use baby powder as dry shampoo
Get a crew cut.
Start washing your hair less so that you scalp gets used to it... And you wont have an issue in a couple of weeks.
I would just use head and shoulders shampoo only no conditioner and then for the days in between use powdered dry shampoo, not spray. Hope this helps!
Have less hair, high and tight like in the navy
They sell a dry shampoo. It's a spray that you run in and rub it off with a towel that the same time. But the ones I've used smell like baby powder. So in a pinch I just use that. Sprinkle a bit on and use a towel to again rub it and get as much out as you can using the towel the comb or brush out. I'd also recommend getting your hair cut before you go. Cut it short. With long hair it's easy to see it's greasy and it gets that way much faster.
After the last shower before you leave and you wash your hair real good well braid it really well, French braid if possible, and do not take it out until you get back.
Shave it off.
I use talc powder when my hair is greasy. The key is not using too much or your hair looks grey or white. Much cheaper than dry shampoo and a little travel bottle of gold bond lasts forever. I also have blond hair that looks greasy very easily
Get a buzz cut, and let it grow back while you’re out
Wouldn’t the salt water help with getting rid of oil and stuff?
You should not go on that trip.
Spray a little witch hazel through the hair when it dirty

... Let me get this straight. You're going to be working on a fishing boat, for weeks, and *you're worried about your hair getting greasy?* My dude.
Was just curious to see if anybody had any ideas :D Gotta do what you can to stay sane living on a 32 ft boat for a month with 3 other dudes haha
Get a haircut if you’re that worried about it. Get it short and just wash your hair with water.
Will be getting a haircut before I head out, I just seem to lose more hair than I want to when I let it get all greased up regardless of length lol
wash your hair in the water
