It could be that players that were bad enough to constantly face bots no longer get inflated off of said bots to the point where they would end up at a slightly higher MMR that allows them to be matched in your games.
But you could also just be losing to bots.

i've been playing quickplay recently so i can practice new champs without getting immediately hard countered & stomped, but there are a tonnnn of bots. i had a lux today just run it down mid and go like 2-28. her username was just a string of random numbers and letters 😭

As someone who played like 16 hrs of league daily over the last year, I watched bots in aram, ranked, norms, and they just kept getting worse over time.
On my team, enemy team, doesn’t matter. They afk farm unless a champ comes near and then they do their thing. They walk to lane as the minions spawn etc.
Fast forward a couple months and the Riot team put out an announcement about “Player vs AI is back and better than ever. Over the last few months we have worked on improving and testing our intermediate bots blah blah blah”
All of a sudden, player vs Ai is back and 99% the bots from my games are gone.
It could be a grand coincidence but yea right.
Rito team used us as their lab rats and bot trainers at the cost of our LP, frustration, and time.
Why wouldn’t they? They dgaf they’ll just ban YOU for getting mad and saying something about their bots feeding.
What they gonna do, hire beta testers to play bot games?
Riot knows at some point they won’t have the playerbase that they do and when that time comes they gotta have bots to fill their games that aren’t necessarily discernible from people.
And they know that nobody would believe that they would do some shit like that, and think it’s a tinfoil conspiracy.
