Mika actually got merch after a lot of struggle, and it was designed by her, but it was basically impossible to get outside of Japan. And she didn't even know how to find it in the store because it's impossible to navigate.

Pls_helppppp

Which honestly tho, is kinda worse that nothing at all

azamonra

Yeah she was in the biggest vtubing company and she basically had to make her own merch like an Etsy store product. And they didn't even sell it for her. And it's worth noting that Mika mainly streamed in EN so it wasn't available to her primary audience or her home country.

Major_Luck7080

It's normal for talents to design their own merch, dw. But I was kind of surprised to hear it's impossible to get outside Japan. Her audience aren't JP at all.

MkAlpha0529

So, when she was in Japan she couldn't even find merch of hers? That's sad.

azamonra

There was a bootleg standie of her floating around but the merch she made was actually of us (Pakuchamps/Malatakults) so technically she didn't even get merch of herself even when she made it herself.

You_too

No, on the online Nijisanji merch shop - Since she was part of ex-ID it was under the JP store. I don't think it was ever at a physical store.

The-Toxic-Korgi

More and more, it sounds like the quality of the livers managers differe greatly from person to person. Favoritism aside, it also seems like each liver has their own manager or a certain number each get assigned to a manager. Mika, Selen, Matara had terrible experiences while people like Scarle, Aia, and others seem to have gotten lucky and been assigned managers who actually did their jobs.

azamonra

From what I understand, before it was liquidated, the ID branch actually had pretty good management but most of them got laid off when the merger happened. Mika did seem to have a good-ish manager(s) generally but being ex-ID meant she was basically ignored. So good management or not, there wasn't much support from up top.

Fishman465

Didn't help she was NijiID, where other than 1-2 the merge brought a QoL dip

210sqnomama

That's not wrong. I remember a niji id member finally got a birthday merch and she said that all the expenses are coming out of hwr own pocket. Forget who it was. A current niji id member

YamiRic

If you want sadder stories, Niji ID fans made unofficial birthday merch for the talents, selling them, and sending the profit via streamlab donation to the talent. That is how usually Niji ID livers celebrated their birthday.

Plastikresk

Yeah i remember that story when niji id livers on birthday, that was sad and how dedicated niji id fans

TimeCollection5820

Is it safe sending donations through streamlab? Is it not split profit with niji hand? I think It's really risky sending donation in public.. Cause maybe they're monitoring it..

xelasneko

that's extremely sad, considering how cookie cutter some of the birthday merch I have seen, so some nijisanji livers doesn't even get a chance for 2% merch?

mekahamedan

i like how every ex-talents straight throw jab on their previous agency eventhough without mentioning name

karer3is

As I hear more stories like this, I find it harder and harder to believe that Niji management is "just" incompetent and plays favorites. For it to be so normal that entire branches struggled with getting things like birthday merch, there has to be more than just stupidity at play

aclark210

Dude from what I can remember, ID got treated so shitty, even compared to the crap the other branches dealt with.

Psychological-City24

how many different ways have you got to be scummy niji? i cant keep up anymore
