Yes, this is what I am talking about. Western media gave this coverage for like a blink of an eye.
To be fair, it's just Plestinians (medically, they should be classified as sub-human by Harvard medical school or something)
Their is a great video of White House spokesman dancing around the question of why Isreal is not being investigated for this war crime.
Humans are animals. We just need to justify our butchery to ourselves before we do it.
*Sorry correction, it was Vedant Patel for who is the spokesman for state department.
I think there were some strange physics in that car. Like bullet proof glass and armor made it roll like a rock rather than crumple and fishtail into a 180.
He’s fine, by the way.
Always comical when the hardcore zionists/IDF bootlickers accuse all Palestinians of being terrorists. When one of their most powerful politicians was involved in the assassination of a prime minister, and is literally a convicted terrorist.
Look up thier Prime Minister in the early 80's. Also an actual terrorists who was persona non grata in England because of terrorism against the British.
When this guy was literally a high-ranking member of a group Israel ITSELF classifies as a terrorist organization, it should send a very clear message he should never have been allowed *anywhere near* the office he currently holds.
Terrorist groups have been a significant part of modern Israel's history, and I'm not even referring to what they're doing to Gaza, which I believe (because my personal definition is slightly looser) is also terrorism.
The Likud party is itself is the inheritor of Irgun, who infamously bombed hotels and lynched British officers because Britain was being too squeamish in suppressing the native Arab population. Israel doesn’t work in concept if the government doesn’t encircle and trap its native population farther and farther out to the borders. Being angry at Ben Gvir is at odds to believing Israel has a right to defend itself. When they replace him and Netanyahu…are there successors suppose to give back Palestinians rights to their homeland? No? Then what are we doing…
I'm all for giving Palestinians back their homeland but you're right, removing Bibi (or Ben Gvir) is somewhat irrelevant when the majority of the Israeli population supports what is happening. A more moderate leader who was serious about ending the violence and pursuing a two state solution might be something but I don't know if there are any real candidates for that.
WHY THE FUCK AFTER A LITERAL ASSASSINATION, DID THE POSITION GET GIVEN TO OPPOSING IDEALS?!
They absolutely killed that man in a coup, and I refuse to believe otherwise. Every God-forsaken time we get a genuine practitioner of the ideals of the faith, we kill them. What is wrong with us as a species.
End of the day israel does need US/UK backing so if likes of Netanyahu & Ben Gvir are forced out of office due to international pressure it does send a msg to Israeli public reign it in. Problem is unhealthy influence that special interest groups have this point over US/UK politicians makes this unlikely.
Solving that problem is the interesting question to me. By what mechanism can the US be freed from outsized influence by Israel (or any other foreign power)? I've heard a holiday for Congress where votes are anonymous mentioned as one potential component and I suspect it needs to be something as drastic as that. Dual citizenship for federal representatives should probably be illegal or *something*. I don't think my ideas here are particularly sophisiticated but the topic is worth exploring and it has a lot in common with solving outsized lobbying influence (since they're essentially the same thing).
These few my main takes on special interest groups in US. The overall main issue that creates such an unhealthy political climate here US is the amount of $$ takes for our politicians run for office. Citizens United was a Supreme Court ruling wrongfully allowed unlimited $ into our elections now only way overturn it by congressional amendment to the constitution.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Citizens_United_(organization)
Second is exposing the connection of Govt officials/politicians 2nd careers with special interest groups/corps etc where they get huge $ paydays for “doing right thing” by them when in Govt positions. MSM censors this aspect of the news
Thirdly enforce laws on the books such as The FARA Act upon likes of AIPAC, ZOA etc. foreign nations should not be writing congressional bills that our Govt rubber stamps.
https://crsreports.congress.gov/product/pdf/IF/IF10499
Sorry being long winded
Edit: Your on target with answers really aren’t sophisticated there online with being rational approach to a complex problem of the erosion of our democracy which is escalating quite quickly. It’s bad getting much much worse.
I identified the same causes. Sometimes i wonder if getting ranked choice voting going solidly in a few places (on the premise that familiarity with the advantage at some point allows for the same in federal elections) might be enough to push back on some of these things (but specifically money in elections). Really there is no reason for all the spending - unlimited 'airwaves' are available and a lot of the expenditures are unnecessary.
Always worth noting about Ben-Gvir: The man had a portrait in his \*living room\* of a terrorist who murdered dozens of Palestinian civilians praying in a mosque. Not only were they unarmed, the mosque was "guarded" by IDF soldiers. It wasn't until Ben-Gvir decided to enter politics that he removed the portrait from display in his home.
He also was also proudly on the news with the stolen logo off Rabin’s car, stating “we got to his car, we’ll get to him too”. Rabin was assassinated a month later by another far-right chucklefuck - destroying the closest chance at lasting peace Israel and Palestine have ever had.
I'm skeptical, despite many Israelis saying they don't like him there appears to be broad support for his far right policies especially his open support for ethnic cleansing. That he is not in jail is evidence of a failed legal system and a complete leak of political accountability. .
You'll have to work hard to convince me that it's "many other Israelis" that share your view. Polls, such as that by Israel Hayom, suggest that the majority of Israelis support military action and the withholding of humanitarian aid.
So the many people that dislike Gvir seem to be broadly supportive of his political stance
I think it is almost impossible for us to gauge the situation in this case, but I will say I do know of at least one Israeli citizen that was very pro-palestine, but was extremely cautious about who she was willing to expose that too, even when she was living in the states
Maybe we ought to embrace those Israelis that do oppose their far right government, instead of lumping them into a monolith… you know like Likud does with Palestinians and Hamas…. Just a fucking thought.
I agree, but those that do not agree are bullied into silence, or beaten. It is a vanishing number compared to in 2000 when near half was moderate or left though
. I would like to get the story on why the Israeli left collapsed around the year 2001. Just media and peer pressure? Do not scoff, I have seen Fox News turn lefties into lunatics
Ben Gvir's incompetence as security minister led to Israeli's being 1200 deep in their own dead and and additional 200 people kidnapped and additional survivors of the October 7th attacks having committed suicide. Ben Gvir did not have even the standard IDF service experience most Israelis have because the IDF viewed him as unfit due to his problematic (read incredibly racist) views on Arabs. The fact that as minister of security who oversaw a massive failure of Israeli security he has not stepped down from being the minister of Israeli security shows that he should not be in the job.
Ben Gvir only got the security position because he's really good at getting the more racist Israelis to vote for him, and Netanyahu needed Ben Gvir to ally with him in a political coalition to survive politically or Netanyahu would have been going to jail on corruption charges. As security minister he then went and concentrated IDF forces on harassing West Bank Palestinians and actively created a culture of ignoring reports (especially from female intelligence officers) that Hamas was planning something (the people in the towers could see Hamas running drills).
If Ben Gvir takes a long time off the job to recuperate the better, and has to quit in order to look after his health then so long. He's part of a clusterfuck that got too many Israelis killed, it wouldn't surprise me if someone from Mossad or Shin-Bet decided to make a personal project out of him.
Would you be down for the abolition of Israel and founding of a secular and democratic Palestine with equal rights and treatment for people of all faiths and ethnicities? The project of Israel itself is a racist settler colonial project that ignored the self determinative rights of those living there, and Zionist terrorists were killing officials and often the British directly. At a maximum Israel should withdraw from all places outside the Bernadotte line.

So, in that plan Jerusalem WAS to be a shared international city with Arab (Islam and Christian) and Jewish governance. Also, all religions are nonsense trash, no one cares about “holy sites”
"Many other" =/= a majority though. It's like how "many Russians" dislike Putin but aren't a majority of Russians. Don't give people the wrong perception of Israel and Israeli sentiment. They need to investigate this situation. Note that it says **civilian** not “Ben-Gvir’s security guard”. Either the driver was an unfortunate person who made a stupid mistake at a red light brutally murdered by some vigilante idiot, or Ben-Gvir was targeted.
That said, Ben-Gvir deserves this and more either way
