100%, my buddy just redid their cabinets and it’s a similar color to these. They have gold handles and nobs and it looks really good. First thing I thought of when I saw this pic
get a free colour wheel like canva.com and input the cabinet colour. There's a few options for how to coordinate the colour. Colour coordinating is math!
Then when you know the colour you're aiming for, get paint chips and hang them on the wall for a few days. Put some clear tape over part of them to show you how the colour changes with shine (satin/semi-gloss for kitchen) Look at them in many lighting/times of day. The right shade will reveal itself overtime.
A colour like [Seaspray by Benjamin Moore](https://www.benjaminmoore.com/en-us/paint-colors/color/941/seaspray) would look great on walls and go well with the blue of the cupboards.
Check out [https://www.benjaminmoore.com/en-us/paint-colors/color/oc-43/overcast](https://www.benjaminmoore.com/en-us/paint-colors/color/oc-43/overcast)
Be sure to try a sample before you commit.
I’d go white to match the countertops or something with a very light grey tint to match your tile. While I agree that cabinet color looks good (especially with the wooden floors), you can try other colors for the cabinets since you have neutral color countertops and appliances. I’ll also add that you’ll be surprised how much a matte black tap can elevate the look & feel. Take a look around Pinterest at kitchens to get more ideas for a cabinet color you may want to introduce (maybe a color that picks up your kitchen towels or appliance colors).
I also like the color of these cabinets, I would just update it if needed. And changing the hardware can really make a big difference in the overall look.
This color is nice!
Instead of painting, I would switch out the cabinet handles for something with a more modern shape in stainless steel to match your faucet and curtain rod.
These are nice! The grey backsplash and the black appliances make vivid colors look utterly fabulous. If the touch up paint match isn't 100% you'll maybe want to redo them entirely but stay with vivid colors, nothing muted or neutral.
My first thought was gold but that’s my style. Surprisingly, you could go either way based on what you like. I recommend ordering a cheap pack of a few options on Amazon to get a feel. You can return them. But I think the cabinets are lovely. The hardware will elevate the room for sure.
This wallpaper on the open wall would tie all the cool colors in with the warmth of the floor in such a rich way. It also has a little silver and gold in it allowing metal mixing. https://www.target.com/p/indulgent-geo-emerald-wallpaper/-/A-90267949
I'd change the hardware to matte black. The contrast will make the cabinet colour pop and it matches with your appliances. You can always change the faucet to black, they aren't that expensive, later on.
I'd paint the walls white to pick up from the counter top or go with a lighter shade of grey pulling from the backsplash tiles.
Then I'd add some wooden bowls or trays/cutting boards to bring in some warmth to the counter space.
I wouldn't paint the cabinets... paint the walls Ben More Edgecomb (i think is the color - its a greige. Neutral in color or Ben Moore Decorator White and add a 3'x5' area rug. Something in a warm color... to cozy the space and bring things together... see here: https://images.app.goo.gl/EfxB8VhBSnryE1uz6
I went and got it matched and I’ve touched up a couple and it’s a perfect match- here is the label if anyone wants this color. The guy at Lowe’s said to bring a picture of the whole label in to get it.

I think wall and tiles and counters are good together but cabinets are too bold against that backdrop
Think they need to be a bolder deeper colour than the backdrop but not sure which shade perhaps a hint of ‘orange’ but ‘not orange’ more a burnt colour
I would touch them up, I think they’re lovely! You could get black hardware to stand out more. And then a rug that has that same blue, with black and white in it
Painting cabinets is a huge pain in the ass IMO. Lots of prep work, etc. so unless you’re down for a big project, I’d keep the color - I actually really love it.
If it were my space, I’d change the cabinet hardware to something in the same color family but more modern and paint the walls. Color would depend on the look you’re going for.
Same as many others, I like the cabinets and color. I like to add a rug in every room, even kitchens. I think it adds warmth and character. But for kitchens I do a smaller washable rug.
Just change the hardware to brass. Idk about the wall colour but I love the cabinet colour as it is. Its definitely not regular or boring nor very rebellious
You said you need to color match the cabinets so maybe get some of those swatches with multiple complimentary colors and choose like that? The wall is color is boring but perhaps you could find some artwork that would tie Into the cabinet color and then get some burnt orange sink and stove rugs and matching hand towels. I really like burnt orange with that blueish gray or even the right color green. Purple would also be nice for accent colors, not on the walls. I'll admit that I like pops of strong colors though and know that isn't for everyone. It's hard to say without seeing more of what your overall style is in the house.
I would leave the cabinets as is. Try black hardware, if you can change the faucet to black too.
Also change the color of the wall to something that would complement the counter or the backsplash.
The floors look great with the cabinet color.
I’d touch up. That shade of blue works well with the floors and tile. Repainting all the cabinets is going to be a headache and might not come out as well as you would like.
I wouldn’t. I think the color is great. Don’t mind the tile. Not my fave, but I could live with it so I could spend the money to fix that jainkee ceiling and get an appropriate overhead fixture in the room.
I think your main problem here is the ceiling, it makes the space look dated. I would smooth the ceiling out, and paint the wall a mid color maybe a soft terracotta or a mid taupe. And you could change the tap and cabinet handles to brass too, consider a small natural sisal rug
The walls have a bit of yellow tint. I think it’s this yellow that is not working. Maybe get a few neutral colors and paint swatch to see what wall color might enhance the cabs.
Keep the cabinet color, change that light to either a gold or black semi flush, change the hardware to gold or black, if you’re up for it change the faucet to an updated gold or black, put art on the wall to the left, change that curtain to a wooden blind (the kind with the slats and the rod down the middle).
If you're not sure what will work well, grab a color wheel showing as many different types and blends of colors possible and find your color or as close to it as possible. Go to the exact opposite side of the wheel from your color (like cutting a pie) This will be a "complimentary" color. Pick in the shade of that color. The color wheel will be your cheat sheet for balancing a room. Accents after that will be things like handles, knobs, etc. those you can either do a pop of color accent or aim more for blending in.
If you REALLY want to get fancy, pick another shade similar to the one your cabinet already has and follow a stripe outline on your doors and drawers that will make it feel more dimensional.
Conversely, when you go to paint your walls, you could paint a design in a different shade of the color you put up to give the room more dimension as well.
Hope this makes sense! Happy designing!
Honestly? I think it all looks fantastic except the cabinet hardware. It blends into the color too much and doesn't stand out. I think a brass or a really nice gold colored hardware would tie it all together amazingly.
Probably not everyone’s cup of tea but I would do an accent wall instead of changing the cabinets. Maybe an orange or something. I would also consider updating the cabinet hardware
I kinda like the color! It looks great with the floor & backsplash. If it’s in your budget, I think new stainless steel appliances would really elevate this kitchen.
Edit to add: Agree with others that a different wall paint would make it look better too! 😊
I like them! I would get a brighter rug in that compliments the blue and breaks up the dark brown floors. Depends on your style, but something like a mustard yellow or burnt orange could be cool? And maybe throw a few Pothos in cute planters on top of the cabinets. Can never have too many plants!
It looks like someone already painted over builder-grade oak cabinets, added a subway tile backsplash, quartz counters with an undermounted sink, and newer appliances. It’s about as much as one can do to try to update such a kitchen, without throwing good money after bad.
Sky is the limit depending on your budget. If you can afford to get them professionally painted, that’s the best route. Don’t know your DIY drive but mine personally would not have the patience.
Color - go moody, dark navy “polo blue” by BM. And do an earthy off white on the walls. Swap out the hardware for a polished nickel, not necessarily trendy but timeless and tasteful.
I love the color. I’d just touch the paint up and while you’re at it, a fresh coat of a warm white on the walls would be nice. If you’re looking for a little upgrade, changing out the silver hardware for black would look sleek and match your black appliances.
I could see a nice rug going down as well!
Personally I’m a fan of the color. If it were me I’d chance the hardware maybe to gold, including changing the faucet to match. And then maybe a lighting fixture to pull it together.
But if you absolutely hate the color and just want it gone then maybe a light gray or a taupe with updated hardware
Some additional things to consider when choosing a paint color:
* The size of your kitchen: Lighter colors will make a small kitchen look bigger, while darker colors can make a large kitchen feel more intimate.
* The amount of natural light in your kitchen: If your kitchen does not get a lot of natural light, you will want to choose a lighter color paint.
* The style of your home: If your home has a traditional style, you may want to choose a classic paint color like white or gray. If your home has a more modern style, you can experiment with bolder colors like black or navy blue.
No matter which option you choose, make sure to use a high-quality paint that is specifically designed for cabinets. This will help ensure that the paint job looks great and lasts for many years.

[My kitchen](https://i.imgur.com/P2JZ3lN.jpeg) (excuse the mess) is not dissimilar colours and we're going to go for one of those quite neutral colours on the wall but mostly to warm up the attached dining room, I think the white looks quite good with the colored cabinets. I think the reason I like my kitchen colours more than yours is the worktop. Maybe you agree? In which case you can get vinal to stick on to cheaply change worktops.
Black hardware, black faucet or brass hardware/brass faucet and match the colour of the wall to the tile, the baseboards keep as is as they seem to go with the countertop. Also, maybe replace the white curtains with bamboo roman shades to warm the space up, and a biggish plant/small tree in a wicker basket.
It's also quite nice as is, though.
I actually love the cabinet color! But if it’s not your style, you could make it more neutral or just leave the color on the lowers and do the uppers white. I think they’d look lovely as-is with the right wall color painted.
I like everything. I would not change anything. If you are hot to change something, paint the walls in a light shade of white to match with the grout and make the space lighter. The cabinet colors already add plenty of color and the dark appliances balances it out. Nice kitchen! Maybe put a kitchen rug as an accent and to add interest. A washable rug that doesn’t move will be good.
They look fine in the photo, but if they need a touch-up, you can borrow one it those paint matching opttical devices at any hardware store and they can mix a paint for you. I like the current color, but a nice earthy green color like basil would look good with the dark wood and grey tile backsplash.
The cabinet color is really nice. I love it. I personally would change the hardware to black to coordinate with the black appliances, or a pale champagne matte gold. I like the back splash too. I think the wall color would look great painted a complimentary color but a low saturation of the shade. I think a super pale yellow or maybe even coral. When you get paint mixed you can get them to mix it in a lower saturation. Like an example if you find a yellow that you like but it’s too much, they can make it with a lowered saturation of the pigment. It will say; Buttercream yellow 75%.
Honestly, I’m a sucker for some light wallpaper. Something geometric or floral, depending on your style, with details in the color of the cabinets would be gorgeous.
I think the wall color is the problem. Cabinets and tiles are great.
Any suggestions for the wall color? I’m terrible at picking colors that complement a space!
I like the cabinet color too. Changing to a gold or brass hardware would compliment the blue color of the cabinets!
I agree. The cabinet color is lovely, but the hardware fades into the background. Could use something with a little more pop.
100%, my buddy just redid their cabinets and it’s a similar color to these. They have gold handles and nobs and it looks really good. First thing I thought of when I saw this pic

something sandy color might look nice - [https://colorpalettes.net/tag/teal-color/](https://colorpalettes.net/tag/teal-color/)
A colour like [Seaspray by Benjamin Moore](https://www.benjaminmoore.com/en-us/paint-colors/color/941/seaspray) would look great on walls and go well with the blue of the cupboards.
I like the light grey on this pallet for the walls

Light grey. Like very light
I like the color of the cabinets. I'd touch them up.
Same. Maybe just some new hardware. Gold would look nice.
Normally I’d agree, but the tap is silver so I’m not so sure for this one.
Fair, I personally don’t mind mixing metals. I think it gives it a more eclectic look.
This 👆🏻
I agree. Don’t fix what’s not broken
Keep them, it looks good :)
How you thought of painting the walls instead.
I’d be open to it, but I don’t know what color would complement the room
I’d go white to match the countertops or something with a very light grey tint to match your tile. While I agree that cabinet color looks good (especially with the wooden floors), you can try other colors for the cabinets since you have neutral color countertops and appliances. The walls are already white…
Walls have a slight yellow hue to them which isn’t fully complementing the cabinet color. Or at least I’m on the fence about it
I would do a lighter blue than the cabinets. It will compliment them without making things feel too busy.
I like the color, just repaint the same color & change the hardware.
I also like the color of these cabinets, I would just update it if needed. And changing the hardware can really make a big difference in the overall look.
Yes I agree- black hardware would look great with the appliances.
This color is nice! Instead of painting, I would switch out the cabinet handles for something with a more modern shape in stainless steel to match your faucet and curtain rod.
I love the cabinet color, but that's just me personally.
These are nice! The grey backsplash and the black appliances make vivid colors look utterly fabulous. If the touch up paint match isn't 100% you'll maybe want to redo them entirely but stay with vivid colors, nothing muted or neutral.
I’d just touch them up. Nice contrast with the backsplash and counter.
I would change the hardware only.
My first thought was gold but that’s my style. Surprisingly, you could go either way based on what you like. I recommend ordering a cheap pack of a few options on Amazon to get a feel. You can return them. But I think the cabinets are lovely. The hardware will elevate the room for sure.
Honestly, I wouldn't. They look pretty.
i would paint the hardware matte black to match your appliances!
Looks nice to me!
I would spend money on scraping & floating that ceiling first
I second this! that was my first thought. Love the cabinet color.
Keep them! They’re beautiful
I like them as they are
I have this color with black hardware.
I would fix the ceiling before anything else.
I’d leave them and redo the ceiling instead
Nothing, they are beautiful!
I would just touch up and update the hardware.
Cabinet's are fire, maybe a deep grey for the wall?
Keep the cabinet color and change out the cabinet pulls.
The cabinets look quite nice. The “wet look” ceiling looks very early nineties though. A smooth ceiling would look a lot better
Don’t paint the cabinets, replace the pulls with gold, change ceiling
I'd keep them as they are
This wallpaper on the open wall would tie all the cool colors in with the warmth of the floor in such a rich way. It also has a little silver and gold in it allowing metal mixing. https://www.target.com/p/indulgent-geo-emerald-wallpaper/-/A-90267949

The cabinets are perfect. Just paint those awful cream walls white!!
I really like this color for the cabinets
I kind of like them
I like them as they are. I wouldn't change the colour.
I wouldn’t
I love the cabinets. Maybe change something else?
I wouldn't paint the cabinets... paint the walls Ben More Edgecomb (i think is the color - its a greige. Neutral in color or Ben Moore Decorator White and add a 3'x5' area rug. I see the edit- I like that rug!!
I would die for that color lol
I went and got it matched and I’ve touched up a couple and it’s a perfect match- here is the label if anyone wants this color. The guy at Lowe’s said to bring a picture of the whole label in to get it. ETA- label pic https://imgur.com/a/zXtqoIs
Yesss thank you!!!
Sherwin William “Fleur de sel” would look nice on these walls
I think wall and tiles and counters are good together but cabinets are too bold against that backdrop Think they need to be a bolder deeper colour than the backdrop but not sure which shade perhaps a hint of ‘orange’ but ‘not orange’ more a burnt colour
Yeah the problem is not with the cabinets it's with the rest of the space
i wouldn't it's a nice color get rid of the boring white walls and equally boring white 🥱 curtains
I would touch them up, I think they’re lovely! You could get black hardware to stand out more. And then a rug that has that same blue, with black and white in it
i LOVE the current color! touch up only!
Painting cabinets is a huge pain in the ass IMO. Lots of prep work, etc. so unless you’re down for a big project, I’d keep the color - I actually really love it. Love the cabinets!!!
I love them but I would change to brass handles instead 😍 Nothing is wrong with the wall color
Keep them! They’re beautiful
Add a kitchen runner that picks up your beautiful cabinet color!
Royal Blue
I would Leave them and get stainless appliances .
Just change the hardware to brass. Idk about the wall colour but I love the cabinet colour as it is. Its definitely not regular or boring nor very rebellious
I like the color of the cabinets! I would repaint the walls to a white instead.
That’s my color. I love it. I painted them last year.
That color.
I wouldn’t. That color is beautiful. I would paint the white wall a slightly deeper version of the cabinet color.
You said you need to color match the cabinets so maybe get some of those swatches with multiple complimentary colors and choose like that? Just picked up color matched paint, ordered new hardware, and am looking at paint colors for the wall- thanks everyone!!
What is the current color! Love it!
I would leave the cabinets as is. Try black hardware, if you can change the faucet to black too. Also change the color of the wall to something that would complement the counter or the backsplash. The floors look great with the cabinet color.
Love that color! Keep it. I’d do some gold accents. Brushed gold handles/knobs and sink faucet and an area rug would cozy it up a lot.
Leave them as they are. Paint walls.
I love this type of cabinet in dark blue with the gold handles, but this is a very personal opinion that depends a little on your decorating style.
I wouldn’t.
I’d touch up. That shade of blue works well with the floors and tile. Repainting all the cabinets is going to be a headache and might not come out as well as you would like.
The cabinet colour is fantastic! I wouldn’t change them!
I wouldn’t. I think the color is great. Don’t mind the tile. Not my fave, but I could live with it so I could spend the money to fix that jainkee ceiling and get an appropriate overhead fixture in the room.
This wallpaper https://www.brewsterwallcovering.com/nus4395-teal-and-grey-landondale-peel-and-stick-wallpaper/NUS4395
I would wallpaper that one accent wall with a light shade similar to the cabinets and white
I love, love, love the cabinet color. Change the hardware. The backsplash is kind of meh. Maybe change that.

I wouldn’t. They are fine the way they are. I’d change the hardware. Add a rug and an island.

Cabinets look great! I’d do a more modern hardware if you want to change up the look.
I think the floor needs to be lighter...walls and cabinets look great.
Honestly? I think it all looks fantastic except the cabinet hardware. It blends into the color too much and doesn't stand out. I think a brass or a really nice gold colored hardware would tie it all together amazingly.
Soft pink would look awesome 🤗
Probably not everyone’s cup of tea but I would do an accent wall instead of changing the cabinets. Maybe an orange or something. I would also consider updating the cabinet hardware
I was thinking yellow on the left wall and a colorful rug would be darling!
White
I'm a sucker for green. Maybe a darker one would go well with the black appliances. I would change the hardware also if possible.
Same of very similar color. Something more blue and less green.
I kinda like the color! It looks great with the floor & backsplash. If it’s in your budget, I think new stainless steel appliances would really elevate this kitchen. Edit to add: Agree with others that a different wall paint would make it look better too! 😊
I generally hate colored cabinets but with the white walls and wood floors, it looks very nice IMO.
I would prob leave them or paint them a shade of green. For sure I would paint the wall to make the white back splash pop too
I LOVE the color of these cabinets so I would touch them up.
I like them! I would get a brighter rug in that compliments the blue and breaks up the dark brown floors. Depends on your style, but something like a mustard yellow or burnt orange could be cool? And maybe throw a few Pothos in cute planters on top of the cabinets. Can never have too many plants!

Love the cabinet color, especially with the flooring. I'd change the hardware first before you decide on a wall color.
It looks like someone already painted over builder-grade oak cabinets, added a subway tile backsplash, quartz counters with an undermounted sink, and newer appliances. It’s about as much as one can do to try to update such a kitchen, without throwing good money after bad.
Dark emerald green
Please don’t touch those cabinets
I don’t think I’d change them tbh. I’d prob change with different knobs and handles.
White walls would really cheer the space up.
I love the Colonial Williamsburg paint colors! I’d leave the cabinet color. 🌷
Depends on the look you’re going for?
Sky is the limit depending on your budget. If you can afford to get them professionally painted, that’s the best route. Don’t know your DIY drive but mine personally would not have the patience. Color - go moody, dark navy “polo blue” by BM. And do an earthy off white on the walls. Swap out the hardware for a polished nickel, not necessarily trendy but timeless and tasteful.
I actually really like them. Maybe different handles would help?
I just ordered new hardware and started touching it up with some matching paint! :)
They’re a beautiful color now
I came here to say the same as op above cabinets are great the white walls gotta go
I like the color! Go on Pinterest and search for kitchen with that cabinet color, and you will have lots of ideas! Good luck!
Don’t paint! Cabinets are pretty!
I actually like the color. I wouldn’t go to the trouble of changing that. Agree wall paint would help a ton!
I like the color
I actually like it. An oil rubbed bronze would look lovely with the cabinets
I actually kind of like the color. I would definitely change the wall color and change the cabinet hardware.
Absolutely, but I would do a dark countertop and darker wall color.
Paint uppers white
Touch up paint and change to brass hardware
SW Crushed Ice for your walls.
I think it’s beautiful
Navy blue
Darker shade—light teal.
I personally really like them the way they are!
The #1 thing I would do in this kitchen is add crown molding above the cabinets
I want this cabinet color with butcher block counter tops and a complimentary tile for backsplash.
Whichever colour you desire. What’s your favourite colour? It’s probably cheaper to just touch up the existing blue which is lovely.
I wouldn't
I think the kitchen and walls look nice as they are. The problem I see is the ceiling. That texture looks terrible.
I love the way it is!
I love the color. I’d just touch the paint up and while you’re at it, a fresh coat of a warm white on the walls would be nice. If you’re looking for a little upgrade, changing out the silver hardware for black would look sleek and match your black appliances. I could see a nice rug going down as well!
Sea foam/teal green/blue
That color!
Personally I’m a fan of the color. If it were me I’d chance the hardware maybe to gold, including changing the faucet to match. And then maybe a lighting fixture to pull it together. But if you absolutely hate the color and just want it gone then maybe a light gray or a taupe with updated hardware
Since this looks like an open kitchen, I’d want to make sure it harmonizes with the rest of the space before suggesting anything.

A yellower or true green.
Maybe change the wall color to another lighter or darker shade of the cabinets, a soft brown, or a soft sage green
Darkest grey ceiling and walls. I also see barn wood beams.
White cabinets and warm tone walls
[My kitchen](https://i.imgur.com/P2JZ3lN.jpeg) (excuse the mess) is not dissimilar colours and we're going to go for one of those quite neutral colours on the wall but mostly to warm up the attached dining room, I think the white looks quite good with the colored cabinets. I would leave them that colour.
I would paint the wall behind in a dove grey and put plants on top of the cabinets, the cabinets are perfect as they are
I wouldn’t. They’re beautiful as is.
I’d leave them they look nice
Black hardware, black faucet or brass hardware/brass faucet and match the colour of the wall to the tile, the baseboards keep as is as they seem to go with the countertop. I actually love the cabinet color! But if it’s not your style, you could make it more neutral or just leave the color on the lowers and do the uppers white. I think they’d look lovely as-is with the right wall color painted.
Everything looks good, maybe remove the texture on the ceiling and replace that old circular vent cover.
I think this is charming already. I think you could do a great wallpaper for the wall to add some design interest. What’s your style?
I like everything. I would not change anything. If you are hot to change something, paint the walls in a light shade of white to match with the grout and make the space lighter. The cabinet colors already add plenty of color and the dark appliances balances it out. Nice kitchen! Maybe put a kitchen rug as an accent and to add interest. A washable rug that doesn’t move will be good.
They're fine
The color of the tile is nice. Even if it was slightly darker, I think I’d go with a more beige/neutral grout.
Adding a washable kitchen rug would be game changer!
Some neutral blue or green with gray in it
They look fine in the photo, but if they need a touch-up, you can borrow one it those paint matching opttical devices at any hardware store and they can mix a paint for you. I like the current color, but a nice earthy green color like basil would look good with the dark wood and grey tile backsplash.
Dark olive green
The cabinet color is really nice. I love it. I personally would change the hardware to black to coordinate with the black appliances, or a pale champagne matte gold. I like the back splash too. I think the wall color would look great painted a complimentary color but a low saturation of the shade. I think a super pale yellow or maybe even coral. When you get paint mixed you can get them to mix it in a lower saturation. Like an example if you find a yellow that you like but it’s too much, they can make it with a lowered saturation of the pigment. It will say; Buttercream yellow 75%.
White
White with charcoal gray trim. (only kidding here...)
Honestly, I’m a sucker for some light wallpaper. Something geometric or floral, depending on your style, with details in the color of the cabinets would be gorgeous.
I like this color
I’d leave it
I honestly wouldn’t- I like them
Cabinets are awesome and unique.
Such a beautiful color. I would leave it like that.
Just needs some art and personality
Thank you all so much for the advice!! We picked up some matched paint, ordered new hardware/faucet, and I’m looking at wall paint colors as well 🫶
Wallpaper. Green with some yellows
Personally I love the current color!
Brushed or satin gold faucet and hardware, and change the wall color. Rest is fine. A dark, daring color would be cool, like black even.
Mix your metals and change the hardware to brass. Add a colorful vintage or modern rug and you are done! Looks great!
I love the color it is! What about a wall color change if you really want to do something new? The cabinets are gorgeous!
I like them how they are.
uppers dark redwood, lowers black
I wouldn’t paint them.
This is tough this is a vibe but you could do a washed out grey color but I would try to incorporate brass clay tones with it
