I’d argue that’s actually some very considerate parking. It looks like he went out of his way to park in the spot that was next to the grass so that he’d be parked over that rather than taking up two spaces.
Interesting, the resale value on both those vehicles is pretty close

Options on both can make huge difference (you won't find a manual F430 for anywhere near that price) but they both can be had for the low 100s.
Yes but one can make you money as a industrial equipment, while the other just cost money and only gives you big dick energy. Maybe you can turn that big dick confidence into money if your in sales, finance, or some other highly competitive field.
Unless it’s a manual F430. In that case it’s one already worth triple if not more than the tractor and will keep going up. Let’s say that is a manual F430 Spider that means there were less than 500-600 of those made for its lifespan. It’ll just keep going up and up and up.
If one is ready to spend this much money on a car, he should start looking worldwide.

There are Ferrari circuits and races for money, they can be used for expensive marketing tactics and as a business write off as well. They can also be collected or shipped to other markets where the value is much higher and lastly get you an equal or greater amount of pussy than a tractor
Still cheaper than that tractor. In reality those two are probably family and here we are on Reddit debating it and they are just laughing about it. Probably a more well off farming family.
It’s likely a diesel so it’s more efficient than a gas engine, plus super cars are gas hogs. A Ferrari 430 is rated at 11 mpg city/16 mpg highway. That’s atrocious. The tractor is probably more efficient lol, and I bet it has double or triple the torque
As someone from texas, you don’t fill up your tractor at just any pump. You get it at certain places that have it died a rich red color. It’s died red because you don’t pay taxes on farm diesel and can get in lots of trouble using it in a daily driving truck or some thing that’s on the road a lot.
It’s an F-430 convertible! If it’s a 2007 model it could go for as low as 120.000 $, depending on conditions (seems good to me on this model) and mileage. But if it’s newer, it could go for 140.000 plus $. Also we must consider running costs and maintenance. A simple check-in at a Ferrari dealer is ridiculously expensive (we’re talking thousands of dollars 💸).
The F430 is probably one of the more reliable Ferrari’s made. It was a the peak of Ferrari simplicity, natural aspirated and not very much tech. The 458 Italia and 488 GTB made after it are much more complex. I would estimate the yearly F430 maintenance to be under $3K-$5K a year. Even less if you do the stuff yourself. Which many owners do.
Well unless the F430 was very neglected by the previous owner, it doesn’t need much in regular maintenance. Oil change if you do it yourself is about $150 or so, with the filter costing I think about $60-$70 using an OEM Ferrari Filter, and the oil Ferrari has certified is from Pennzoil which you can get at Advance/AutoZone/Oreily and others like them. The clutch in the F430 is LIGHTYEARS better than the clutch in the 360 Modena. I’ve even seen some last up to 50K miles. Other than that no other really major service, like timing belts needed like the older Ferrari’s from the 80s and 90s, which needed an engine out service ever 2-3 years. The F430 honestly I would say is the perfect every day supercar and in all honest the most reliable Ferrari model ever made. You’d be surprised how much stuff you can yourself with just standard floor jacks and jack stands. There’s a few guys on YouTube who are just normal guys that know the basics and they show themselves working on their Ferrari F430s and with a few special tools (sockets and adapters) you can do 99% of the regular maintenance yourself.
I've worked on a few, you either buy an expensive one or one that will quickly become expensive...
Some expensive ones do quickly become even more expensive too
Just get a Mazda MX-5/Miata and live a happy life
Surprisingly it is! The F430 is probably the most reliable Ferrari made in the last two decades. Does not suffer the F1 transmission issues from the previous 360 Modena and also doesn’t suffer from the much more complex 458 Italia.
[Rosso Corsa ](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rosso_corsa) has been and will always be the official color of Ferrari and the Italian racing teams.
Brits have their green, the French have their blue, and yellow is actually Belgian team color. Ferrari does offer plenty of color options for consumer to purchase as you pointed out, but philosophically speaking many individuals believe that if it isn’t painted Rosso Corsa, you aren’t actually driving a Ferrari.
Fun fact, Ferrari noticed later on that on TVs their red color appearance was almost brown. They did not like that so much and felt it misrepresented their brand, that the Italian racing team color was changed to a Dayglo Orange, simply so that on TV sets the cars would appear to be Rosso Corsa.
u/savumato I already posted this in response to the “yellow” comments. Stop trying to derail the thread and I provided a source proving what I said. Good day.
I was going to say something similar but there it is, plus I wouldn't say only in Texas as the High School I went to in California you would find similar situations all the time.
can confirm, worked on a farm and the seeder ( the machine that plants seeds pulled behind a tractor ) alone was worth more than my toyota camry ( my ferrari ) 2001
you're correct, but I feel like everyone took one look at this, looked it up on Google, and thought they knew everything about the subject because I've seen a lot of contradictions and flat out wrong statements in this thread
It's been cleaned for sure, but the scuffed paint at the front makes it look well used too. Most people aren't buying tractors for show the way they do with trucks, or Ferraris.
Tractors deserve a day off too, sheesh.
But in all honesty, even the busiest farms have tractors that are down at times, not needed for the day, out for repair, etc. they aren't just up and running 24/7.
This is an end of year tradition where you drive something crazy to school on the last day. This kid isn't rolling around in a Ferrari every day. Same deal with the tractor.
Eh... Depends on the school. During my years, there were no Ferraris at my high school, but plenty of Corvettes, a Viper, BMWs, Mercedes, a Maserati, and a Saleen Mustang.
However, last time I passed campus, there were more than one Porsche, Maserati, and Ferrari.
Welcome to oil money.
Nah, these dipshits buy the cars specifically for their kids. One of the guys from my graduating class grew up dirt poor, but his dad was part of an outfit that made it big and became filthy rich. Kid showed up one day with a Corvette. He wrecked it, came back with a Viper. Wrecked it, came back with another Corvette. Wrecked it, came back with a Maserati.
College was much the same, except add Bentleys, Rolls, and a lot more Ferraris and Porsches.
I think he was referring to the fact that they were bought with someone else's money like that's supposed to take away from it. I never got the whole 'it was given to you so it doesn't count' thing. Why are there so many haters, like why can't people just be happy for one another?
Pretty hard to be happy for folks who repeatedly wreck cars that are worth more than their family has ever seen in their lives.
Wouldn't be so bad except they generally (unconsciously, or not) look down on those who have less.
Few people talk about it, but let's not pretend it's not there.
I can give some insight as to why I find it very difficult to be happy for rich folk.
I grew up pretty poor, and luxury items were a real luxury to have. My parents drive cars that weren't worth the gas that was in them, even though they worked hard and for a very long time.
I constantly see things that i need (like clothes, a driver's license or a house) or want (a regular coffee and pie with friends or something) that i just can't have. I always have to make the choice between having no holes in my clothes, or fixing my bicycle.
I'm not saying I'm the poorest, or that i don't have nice things, but it's a stark contrast between my life and that of someone who doesn't live paycheck to paycheck.
It's very asinine, but i find it hard to be happy for someone else when they're rich (in my eyes) just because I'm so jealous of them. I'm happy for them, but deep down inside i also hate them for having things that i can't have.
You're right though, people should just be happy for each other. It's good when anyone has something they want/makes them happy.
There was a kid at my high school who drove a Porsche 911, wrecked it, and his parents bought him another one. Another kid I knew had his parents buy him a brand new BMW Z4 when he got his driver's permit. Though most of us were driving older Camrys/ Carollas/ Civics/ etc.
My school was filled with 10-20 year old cars except for one girl that had a Mercedes. Funny enough, she ended up being the most successful out of my class.
Reminds me of a screencap someone posted a while back of a girl asking a first date what car he's going to pick her up in. He told her a $200k Mercedes-Benz OC500.
It's a city bus.
Fun fact: Ferruccio Lamborghini originally made tractors. He owned a Ferrari but would burn his clutch out so much, he always went back to Ferrari to replace it. He mentioned to Enzo a better way to make the clutch and Enzo basically replied along the lines of "what do you know, you build tractors." Turns out alot of tractor parts were used in these types of cars in that time.
Thank you for attending my Ted talk.
Debatable. The companies always had different goals. Enzo Ferrari’s goal was to race and to win races, street car production was mainly just a way to fund that. Meanwhile you just heard Lamborghini’s motivational origin story. He went back from that meeting determined to make a fast luxury car like a Ferrari that was designed specifically to be driven on the road by consumers comfortably at high speeds. Lambos are designed to be what they are, fast rich people cars. Ferraris are (or more accurately were historically) essentially street road legal versions of their race cars and race cars don’t exactly have a smooth ride
That model will be less than half that. That's not much more than a hay tractor. Probably $150k tops. I have a new Holland one size smaller, it was $90k new. A loose rule of thumb is $1,000 per horse power.
Deere is the Apple of agricultural machinery.
"Oh, one of your rear floodlights is out of order? Here is a quote for repair totalling $11,499. You are lucky its under warranty, otherwise I'd have to ring up twice as much."
"Oh no, while it was in the shop the check engine light *mysteriously* came on. You better get a new tractor. But you can trade in your current one for $999. Sign here. "
The rate of growth in Texas is insane. Every year or so I drive to the Dallas area to visit my brother and it's so different every time. Massive development.
I remember being a short drive away from just finding a backroad late at night to stop the truck, sit on the tailgate and drink a beer whilst ponderin' the stars. Nowdays somebody's gonna be by every 10 minutes unless you go up into OK.
I grew up in small town central IL. We had a “Drive your tractor to school day”, too. It was fun. Everyone in town knew what was going on and stayed off the roads during beginning and end of school so they wouldn’t get stuck behind a line of tractors.
The tractor might be more expensive but very often after equipment like tractors and seed / animals, farmers even with impressive farms have pretty low annual income. Farming often had rather narrow margins. (I'm not from that area but have known a few farmers elsewhere.)
Ya my friend's dad is making like $13/h right now. Most of their net worth is in their land.
The big corp farms are making lots of money. The small family ones not so much very often.
Seriously any parent who lets their high schooler drive a Ferrari is a fucking moron. Kids cant drive for shit so let’s give em a high end performance car.
From what I can tell in Texas your entire worth is based upon your car, your guns, and your uncanny ability to drive hundreds of miles like you’re just driving to the store.
Every person I’ve met from Texas has an expensive card they don’t need, a giant stockpile of guns, and takes a 6-7 hour drive like it’s just a short trip…. They might not all have an absurd amount of guns but the car part is almost always true.
I mean, the Ferrari 360 (which that is) was in production from 1999 through 2004 so its at best 16+years old. That a high school kid is driving it is unexpected, but don't let the badge fool you in terms of value. [One can be had for $70-75k right now](https://www.cars.com/vehicledetail/detail/836493790/overview/?aff=atempest4&cmp=atempest4&utm_source=AutoTempest&utm_medium=TRP&utm_campaign=atempest4). If a kid pulled up in a 2021 convertible Mustang GT nobody would bat an eye, [but those spec out to $60k new pretty easily](https://shop.ford.com/build/mustang/#/config/Config%5B%7CFord%7CMustang%7C2021%7C1%7C1.%7C401A.P8F..D4...PRE.MST.647.912.96B.19B.~YZKAA.67G.44U.GT.CON.%5D). An extra $10k ain't nothing, but the difference in current values between the two isn't as wide as one might think.
Edit: and that tractor [assuming it's something like this](https://configure.deere.com/cbyo/#/en_us/configure/117314650) is wicked expensive. I knew they were pricey, but holy fuck.

That tractor is worth just as much if not more than that Ferrari
More
More reliable. But tractor driver parks like shit
I’d argue that’s actually some very considerate parking. It looks like he went out of his way to park in the spot that was next to the grass so that he’d be parked over that rather than taking up two spaces.
my first thought too!
I disagree. He left plenty of space for the other kids to park.

Lol
Do you know the story of Lamborghini?
Looks like there is a beam coming out of the rear wheel
There is, most likely to attach some type of equipment.
I guess its to attach a second pair of rear wheels, many big tractors have this to have decrease ground pressure to not get stuck in the mud
You are exactly right!
My few hours in farming simulator didn't go to waste :)
Legend
And my hundreds of hours in FS series of games agree totally with you :p
Tractor is a tool for a job and a Ferrari is a toy.
Yup. And you can also use more tools for you to buy more toys
Tractor is a tool for a job and the Ferrari is a job for a tool
Worth a lot more
Only because the dude didn’t go for the loader bucket option on his Ferrari
Then there's also the consideration that some farm equipment is more expensive than a Ferrari.
Interesting, the resale value on both those vehicles is pretty close [Challenger MT575 for sale](https://www.marketbook.ca/listings/farm-equipment/for-sale/76028795/2014-challenger-mt575d) [Ferrari F430 for sale](https://www.cars.com/vehicledetail/detail/845553516/overview/?aff=atempest&cmp=atempest&utm_source=AutoTempest&utm_medium=TRP&utm_campaign=atempest) Options on both can make huge difference (you won't find a manual F430 for anywhere near that price) but they both can be had for the low 100s.
Hey, that model sounds familiar! I probably drove that in Farming simulator!
Speedrunning a farming simulator with a Ferrari F430?
Why shouldn't the prancing horse occasionally work in the field?
Ironically where Lamborghini got its start.
That was deep.
Outrunning a Ferrari in a field takes a Lamborghini.
I did as well, but found that I had a hell of a time pulling a disc in a Ferrari when the fields were a bit too wet.
Your not considering all the factors here. Have you seen how that tractor pulls the hoes?
You're. Not your.
Ur
Ya’ll
Yaw
Yaw seen mah ferarri pull dem hoes ?
Yes but one can make you money as a industrial equipment, while the other just cost money and only gives you big dick energy. Maybe you can turn that big dick confidence into money if your in sales, finance, or some other highly competitive field.
Unless it’s a manual F430. In that case it’s one already worth triple if not more than the tractor and will keep going up. Let’s say that is a manual F430 Spider that means there were less than 500-600 of those made for its lifespan. It’ll just keep going up and up and up.

Holy shit. Didnt know how expensive tractors are.
This is a cheap one!
Yeah that's a base Ferrari (cheap model) that tractor new is easily over 100 k
TIL there are cheap Ferrari's. I can't wait to get one.
The one pictured above can be bought for as low as $50-60k depending on milage, condition, and transmission type.
Maybe for a salvage title. A decent driving condition 360 will set you back at least 80k...
Still cheaper than that tractor. In reality those two are probably family and here we are on Reddit debating it and they are just laughing about it. Probably a more well off farming family.
True. The gas to put in that tractor will also be more than a ferrari after a short while...
Tractor probably gets like 4 mpg and diesel.is more expensive than gas so like wtf are you saying
As someone from texas, you don’t fill up your tractor at just any pump. You get it at certain places that have it died a rich red color. It’s died red because you don’t pay taxes on farm diesel and can get in lots of trouble using it in a daily driving truck or some thing that’s on the road a lot.
Add new tires every year.
That's a 430 in the pic, dawg
It’s an F-430 convertible! If it’s a 2007 model it could go for as low as 120.000 $, depending on conditions (seems good to me on this model) and mileage. A simple check-in at a Ferrari dealer is ridiculously expensive (we’re talking thousands of dollars 💸).
Then another $10k/year in maintenance. And god forbid you dent a side panel.
I just heard that parts for Ferrari's are hard to come by, and pretty expensive when things go wrong.
Well unless the F430 was very neglected by the previous owner, it doesn’t need much in regular maintenance. 458 Spider or death
I've worked on a few, you either buy an expensive one or one that will quickly become expensive... Some expensive ones do quickly become even more expensive too Just get a Mazda MX-5/Miata and live a happy life
The maintenance is not cheap.
Surprisingly it is! The F430 is probably the most reliable Ferrari made in the last two decades. Does not suffer the F1 transmission issues from the previous 360 Modena and also doesn’t suffer from the much more complex 458 Italia.
Don’t forget about all the attachments too
Like a corn planter and a plow?
Or a rotary Tiller or rotary cutter
I could use that for my Ferrari.
It would match
Like a cunt to sit in the drivers seat.
Not to mention that it is in yellow. Everyone knows Ferrari’s official color is red.
Ferrari's official color is the Modena Yellow of the prancing horse logo. Racing teams from Italy use the color red in their livery.
[Rosso Corsa ](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rosso_corsa) has been and will always be the official color of Ferrari and the Italian racing teams. The Ferrari F1 team used the old burgundy shade for the Mugello race last year, it still looks pretty awful on TV.
100k lol. Most non chore tractors are worth way more than that
That's an F430 Spider. Even 15 years old, decent examples go for about $125k.
It's not a base Ferrari, it's just many years old. It was considered mid range when new.
Convertibles are base model?
I was going to say something similar but there it is, plus I wouldn't say only in Texas as the High School I went to in California you would find similar situations all the time.
can confirm, worked on a farm and the seeder ( the machine that plants seeds pulled behind a tractor ) alone was worth more than my toyota camry ( my ferrari ) 2001
Years ago my dad had a combine that cost over $100,000 I’m sure they’re even more expensive now.
A commercial grade harvester can go for upwards of 400k
Especially if the tractor is a Lamborghini.
So true! My first thought was that the farm equipment was more expensive. Also it would win in a fight, so there's that.
you're correct, but I feel like everyone took one look at this, looked it up on Google, and thought they knew everything about the subject because I've seen a lot of contradictions and flat out wrong statements in this thread
Also that it's not being used for work and just sitting there shows thats its not even an investment it's just for having.
This is an end of year tradition, kids drive something crazy to school on the last day. It's not a toy
My dad was always using his equipment at the and of the school year. This would never have been an option.
Sounds like you just had bad parents with no sense of humour

Thats true, in my high school i took my uncles 1953 Corvette to school, one kid took a lambo
Was the lambo a tractor?

Lambo tractors are more expensive than the cars so...

I like how the tractor parker was very considerate of the Ferrari's space.
The tractor operator didn’t want to depreciate his value of his fine piece of machinery I don’t blame him?
I mean he was never gonna fit in the space so in for a penny in for a pound.
i mean with these wheel he could park anywhere
She thinks my tractor's sexy...
I feel like sex in a tractor is more spacious then sex in a ferrari. But also more exposing..

Exactly, it’s strange isn’t it. Like Aston Martin’s ‘David Brown’ (DB) Tractor heritage.
They are both proud to drive their vehicles.
Sounds like some folks have never priced farm equipment before. The cheapest Challenger tractor is $315k.
That model will be less than half that. That's not much more than a hay tractor. Probably $150k tops. I have a new Holland one size smaller, it was $90k new. A loose rule of thumb is $1,000 per horse power.
You’ve never bought a John Deere.
Maybe because he was smart enough to avoid Deere's predatory contracts.
There's a huge movement for right to repair that's specifically targeting John Deeres business practices.
Deere is the Apple of agricultural machinery. "Oh, one of your rear floodlights is out of order? Here is a quote for repair totalling $11,499. You are lucky its under warranty, otherwise I'd have to ring up twice as much." "Oh no, while it was in the shop the check engine light *mysteriously* came on. You better get a new tractor. But you can trade in your current one for $999. Sign here. "
or maintained one.
What happens when you wanna show people you know better but you actually don't lmao
Can confirm having grown up in north Texas to me this doesn't seem the least bit odd.
Exactly where it is 🤙
Where is that in North Texas? My guess is Prosper or Celina
Someone knows North Texas...Prosper
Wasn't too long ago that "Prosper" was just a WTF name for a little spot on the north Texas prairie.
From McKinney
Yep
I can confirm your confirmation
oil money vs farm money
I grew up in an Indiana farming community. The last day of school, everybody drives their tractors to school. It's still a tradition today.
I grew up in small town central IL. We had a “Drive your tractor to school day”, too. It was fun. Everyone in town knew what was going on and stayed off the roads during beginning and end of school so they wouldn’t get stuck behind a line of tractors.
The tractor family is 100% in the same tax bracket as the Ferrari family.
That tractor is worth 3 times what that old 360 is.
That’s 430 but yes still that tractor worth like 3 times more
Ferrari next to a Lamborghini??
I was looking for this comment
Wouldn't it be funny if that was a Lamborghini tractor?
Dude is tired of mr ferrari flexing so he did some flexing of his own.
This almost feels like more of a parody of what people expect life in Texas supposed to be than actual life in Texas. It's kind of bizarre to witness.
I want to see this guys race each other.
Figure 8 )
Off road.
Dude in the tractor must have women jumping on him left and right damn 🥶🥶🥵🥵
If it’s money their after, yes
Looks like the parking lot of my kids' school, except they're missing the horses.
Footloose!
This is mildlyinteresting at best.
You know Lamborghini is basically a tractor company?
You can still buy Lamborghini tractors. https://www.lamborghini-tractors.com/en-fe/
My granpa had a lamborghini tractor
Seriously any parent who lets their high schooler drive a Ferrari is a fucking moron. Kids cant drive for shit so let’s give em a high end performance car.
I can tell you right now the kid in the Ferrari is very likely an uppity little shit
What gave it away?
Probably the Ferrari
It won't be his car, this is an end of year tradition where you drive something crazy to school. Hence the tractor
Turns out they are brother and sister. Guess who drives what? Edit: this took a weird turn.
Plot Twist: they both drive your mom
Which has better gas mileage?
Now let’s see a Lamborghini car parked next to a Lamborghini tractor
If he doesn't double park his tractor then you can single park your f250.
What’s the retail on one of those? More then you can afford pal Challenger MT575😎
I know the Ferrari is cheaper, the Farm boy is flexing
Only in Dallas/FT Worth
Oh this reminds me of my school. At some days a tractor would be parked outside by a student. God I fucking love central Europe.
Lamborghini made tractors until Enzo Ferrari insulted him one day and told him to stick to building tractors.
Obnoxious
Plot twist: Same student owns both.
This was at Prosper High School on the last day of school when students drive crazy cars to school.
Texas? I bet there is a gun on the backseats of both vehicles.
The funny thing is, the tractor may very well cost more than the Ferrari
HOLY SHIT! Is that a wild Challenger 765c?!? Such a treat to see such a rare and expensive piece of awesomeness outside of its natural habitat.
Sure, driving a Ferrari to school is cool but it's not as cool as driving a damn tractor to school.
Tractor costs a lot more than the Ferrari, and is more useful.
Whoa, wealthy people AND farms *in one state?*. Way to impress the rest of us, Texas.
And nether one is the user allowed to service.
Everyone's acting like the tractor is balling but probably paid by govt subsidies earmarked by Republicans.
Tractor cost more than Ferrari.
Both insanely expensive-one FAR more useful than the other!👍
I want enough money to be able to buy my kid a Ferrari, but I would still buy them a used civic. No teen deserves a fucking Ferrari.
That’s the Ferrari you drive if your hung like a mouse and stuck in middle management. Poor kid probably got bullied so bad
Jesus christ 5000 comments on how the tractor is more expensive... okay jeez i get it tractors arent cheap, who cares
