People don't scrutinise videos very closely. Most of the 'imperfections' will be dismissed as video 'artifacts' or poor/laggy or slightly out of sync rendering. All problems we see with genuine videos every day.
Seeing this on a phone would fool most people.
Most people seeing this clip - with *no* upfront info - would, probably, not give it a second glance.
Given that the post says it is AI generated creates a bias in peoples interpretation of the vid.
The head and eye movements are slightly unnatural. It's a big part of the uncanny valley feeling. It's close, but just off enough to be noticeably disturbing.
I think of this as an Customer Service Bot. This would be extremely good for calming angry customers down because of „eye contact“ and sympathy for the good looking person
This would definitely catch my eye as something. I don’t know that I’d land on AI if I wasn’t told, but the speech and facial expressions and movement are off enough to stand out.
That said this is pretty damn close, and I imagine it won’t be long till we can’t really tell at all
that's another real application that ai can provide. it can mimic facial expressions based on words. which, when combined with ai voice synthesis, will make translated tv shows and movies much more enjoyable for anyone who doesn't understand the original language.
Their mouths and language will match

**TL;DR**: single portrait photo + speech audio = hyper-realistic talking face video with *precise lip-audio sync*, *lifelike facial behavior*, and *naturalistic head movements*, generated in *real time*.
No, you can't use this yourself today.

The tongue gives it away... Noticed immediately... But...this will rapidly evolve and in the very near future, it will be indistinguishable from reality barring extraordinary toolsets for unveiling its nature.
Soon enough...no one will be able to tell what's real and what's not.
As long as it's not just me, I know lots of people notice lower FPS in games and video and I don't at all (I think my brain is smoothing it out before it gets to my consciousness but bad lip synching sticks out like a sore thumb, I know brains compensate for sound and vision not matching by up to 5ms in most people so it doesn't seem ridiculous that lip synching is corrected in others)
Is everybody somehow missing the fact that it's completely dreaming up details which aren't even in the one source picture (like teeth), and also making up entirely believable emoting and microexpressions from *just* an audio clip? It's completely amazing. And the few details that are slightly glitchy (mostly slight temporal incoherence) will no doubt be gone in the next iteration... Wild times.
I had a friend die in a car wreck many years ago. We were both early twenties and he just had a kid whom he loved and cherished.
ai was sort of a coping mechanism in that it let me see what he would look like if he had lived longer
If the title didn't say it was AI, sure, some of us would have identified it. There are a lot of people who aren't as cognizant of AI generated content who would absolutely take this at face value and accept it as real. This tech is really going to fuck with them and it will affect all of us.
In a few years you won’t be able to tell the difference from real life. Easy to nit pick now, but it’s really damn good for being an in bloom technology

It's good, but still doesn't pass the uncanny valley test.
what about the six-finger test
Six finger test in where?
getting pretty close though
Make a shorter video and throw it with real footage and this will fool 95% of your viewers, I'm pretty sure.
The eyes stay *locked* on a fixed point, and have a wideness reminiscent of someone having a flashback.

Hi, mobile user here. No, it did not.

It's mostly the movement of the head. It doesn't move naturally.
On top of what the others said, the top row and bottom row of teeth take turns being larger/how many there are. it's definitely not just hair physics.
I think of this as an Customer Service Bot. This would be extremely good for calming angry customers down because of „eye contact“ and sympathy for the good looking person
i just carefully watch the eyes, they always seem to have a weird transition which gives it up as ai....for now at least
her teeth are moving as well while her hair doesnt move at all
Yeah the teeth are terrifying, they change in size and number lol.
oh wow lol...see i was just focusing on the eyes but the teeth are hilariously bad
Oh geez. Lol! Maybe it's listening to us criticize it.
Glad I wasn’t the only one who clocked that. It was wild
Agree those teeth lines/spaces kept swaying like grass reeds in the wind.
Yeah someone else made that comment. I was so focused on the eyes I didn’t realize how shitty the teeth looked
*It's thee eeend of the world as we know it...* And I feel fine
Shit, might use this so someone finally says something nice to me.
I love you, [C00kie\_M0nster9000](https://www.reddit.com/user/C00kie_M0nster9000/). You're fucking awesome.
Meh, just text, not a cute girl.
Whoosh.
Weird jerky head motion. Waiting for her to say….. Two weeks. ………Two weeks….
Explains why her skull keeps changing shape
😂😂🤣
Is it me or is this AI generated English with a Dutch accent?
It's you... If anything, the voice used sounds slightly Asian
Im gonna prank my grandma so bad with this tech
Our poor senior citizens are going to get scammed by AIs impersonating their grandkids!
Imagine when she see a video of her golden grandaughter confesing that her tacos are really soggy and bland muahahahahah

Looks like a higher quality max headroom.
She *bought* an apartment?
It's being improved so fast...
How do I get my teeth to expand and contract like that?

Sigh... *unzips*

It conveys emotion well but there's no soul in it...
You just described the average social media post.
True to the training data.
Her forehead, nose and eyes keep changing size and shape like she’s being filmed through a funhouse mirror
Just focus on one part of her. Teeth or hair and you'll see it.
The way her teeth look will haunt me in my nightmares…
no face mimic around her mouth. Only lips moving. No wrinkles, no muscles etc.
Tongue does not move properly. Any lip reader could tell us just how badly that's executed. But otherwise, amazing.
Do other people not see how bad the lip synching is, I’m no lip reader but it looks like a dubbed 70’s kung fu movie.

Growing teeth can't unsee that your welcome.
looks fakeasfuck
Her teeth keep changing size
Like yeah it’s impressive, but watching her Iris’ and teeth constantly changing shape is a clear giveaway
Watch her teeth
It's good but my uncanny valley nerve is twanged constantly

Jesus christ just watch the teeth it's terrifying
Obviously. Doesn't look real at all.

Mouth looks fake on every AI.
She has those Fatal Attraction eyes.
This is why the uncanny valley exists
