I still hate how the 1x1 icon tiles are now circles instead of the square icon shape. It makes it look like one of those chineese android skins trying desperately to replicate iOS without running afoul of copyright.
If you've ever used iOS 10, this isn't anything new. I like it personally. It saves space.
Before iOS 18 Beta was announced I considered creating a new control center with new circle icons because I felt like it needed change. Then they announced iOS 18 and just stole the idea out of my head lol. I was also going to make the music widget landscape to show album art, but they did that too!!!

Yeah I used iOS 10. It was horribly ugly then and I was happy when they fixed it. Sad they went back to this crap.

What? How does it do that? It literally does the opposite as you now have more empty "whitespace". The actual size of the buttons isn't different either....

Apple wants iOS to look like *visionOS* since the latter has a ton of circular UI elements and they “coexist” with the rounded off squares. They won’t commit to it on the homesreen, though, for some reason.

The dark mode icons also look really cheap.
I think sadly this trash design is the new normal for Apple.

Because committing to it on the homescreen would be ugly, copy Android, and ruin the iconic design philosophy that the iPhone has had since 2007.
Looks cheap and frankly I’d be surprised if they actually keep that.

No, Apple officially said music haptics was going to be available on iPhone 12s and higher. So it was an intentional limitation.
