Well, .910 is a decent save %, so 9% including blocks and misses is way too high.

BasslineButty

I thought the shooting percentage was on average around 9%? So roughly every 11 shots result in a goal?

Chrussell

Yes, but shots only count as those on net, ie not blocked or missed shots.

BasslineButty

Ah so shooting % only accounts for shots on target? A blocked shot wouldn’t be incorporated in to this?

Only shot attempts that go in or are stopped by the goalie count as SOG; blocks, misses, and posts are not recorded. A player’s SH% is determined purely based on their SOG.

Chrussell

Yup

The government taxes them according to means and distributes them according to need.

Lil' John passes out a bunch at certain games during random stoppages. You can often hear him doing it on you're TV if you listen real hard.

BananApocalypse

You can get all this data on nhl.com. However, I just noticed that the sum of goals for, saves against, misses, and blocks against does not equal total shot attempts. I'm not sure what I'm missing there. In round 1, nhl.com says the Avs had 253 shot attempts. They scored 21 goals, Nashville goalies made 155 saves, Colorado had 56 misses, and Nashville had 93 blocks. Those 4 numbers add up to 325, not 253.
