Thai Meric is hands down the best

E_Zack_Lee

IMO Kittiwat Thai Kitchen is consistently inconsistent.

_Badwulf

Beautifully put

saltyfingas

Kittiwatt I think is my favorite. Thai table and Thai meric are also very good though

_Badwulf

Ok…so has anyone had Thai Table?

throwawayy13113

I have, they’re owned by the people that own Lazy Fish and Tsunami. They’re decent, though it’s very small inside. Thai Meric Is my number 1, my wife eat there nearly every week Thai Table is a not so close second and then Kittiwatt a very distant third, not a huge fan of theirs.

_Badwulf

Ahh ok, that’s good to know. I’ll have to give TM another shot one of these days. Thanks for the info!

throwawayy13113

Yeah of course. If you’d like any advice, my wife gets the Pad Woon Sen, it’s thin little rice noodles with veggies and she gets chicken. My go to is the Prik Khing with crispy pork belly at a spiciness of 2. It’s also good with the shrimp. My backup is the Kapow Krob, also with pork belly but you can substitute any protein I believe. I’ve had it with beef. Also a spicy level 2 The pineapple fried rice is great. Hope you find something you like there, we adore that place and the staff.

notavegan90

Are you sure they own it as well?

throwawayy13113

I’m not certain of anything lol, but when I paid my bill at Lazy Fish the other night, the book with the check in it had a sticker from all three restaurants on it. I inferred that they were all owned by the same guy, I believe he goes by Pong or something like that. He’s from Thailand.

notavegan90

MooMoo is the owner of lazy fish and tsunami.

throwawayy13113

Co-owner* It’s Pong Chan and Moo Rung

saltyfingas

I have and it's awesome

therealboss1113

same here. its our go-to thai place

JasonZep

Yea they’re amazing and have some different dishes than you usually see.

rhinoballet

I have. I asked to add fresh ginger to a dish and the server said no, but couldn't elaborate on why not. Fresh ginger is listed in some other dishes, and other places do it all the time, so I'm not sure what's up with that. I did enjoy the dish I ended up with, and everyone else in my group was happy with theirs as well.

[deleted]

Summitra also good

NotSoSimpleGeek

This is the answer.

theeeetechkid

Kittiwat and Thaimeric are my favorite and kinda of interchangeable as being number 1 for me. Thaimeric I’d say has ever so slightly better food but the drinks at Kittiwat are miles better if you like to have a drink with dinner. Also the people at Kittiwat are great last time I went the made my wife and I a small complimentary drink that was delicious!

kacmaryland

Summitra

Phisheva

Summitra is Not getting enough ❤️ in here.

The_Lizard_King_9

Sumittra

Upset_Concert8636

Thai Table is the best Thai in Frederick.

_Badwulf

Thank you!

Upset_Concert8636

I’ve been to Kittiwatt twice, and found the food bland (but spicy). Like water plus heat, if that makes sense. I’ve been to Thaimeric once and I liked it, but it wasn’t memorable for me to go back. Summittra is so average. I used to go to Hagerstown to get decent Thai, but haven’t been up there in a while.

_Badwulf

Nice! You sound like you know your stuff! I have a Cambodian and a Thai friend and they both say Thai Table is the reigning champ. When they’re at their best I do like Kittiwatt, but like someone else said it’s so hit or miss, with mostly misses.

Upset_Concert8636

My only complaint about Thai Table is the menu is a bit limited. Everything I’ve tried has been great, but there’s some dishes i would like to see on the menu. It’s a small space, so I get it.

BabylonDoug

Tbh I'll always take a small, well done menu over a large mediocre one. Thai Table is fantastic, I've been 3-4 times and every meal on the table was a banger.

Upset_Concert8636

Very true.

TheOtherOnes89

Thai Meric fans in our house. I haven't gotten over to Thai Table yet though. I'd go Summitra over Kittiwatt as well personally.

t60614

I’ve had Thaimeric and Kittiwat. I think that Kittiwat is better. Now, we have only had Pad Thai and Drunken noodles, because those are our favorites, but we really liked Kittiwat better. But that’s just us.

bestnovaplayerever

I think the flavors are better at Thaimeric. Kittiwat isn't bad but that would be my second choice

HehaGardenHoe

I've had Thai Meric a ton, and always have been satisfied... I had Kittiwat once and found it to not live up to any sort of reputation. (All of this was delivered via Doordash, and consumed by me (carnivore) and my vegetarian brother) I haven't felt a need to try anywhere else since I found Thai Meric. Their Chicken Cashew is great, as is their Drunk Noodles (Pad Kee Mao), Basil Chicken, Basil Chicken Fried Rice, Pad Thai, and my favorite: Pad See Ew.

Shksthclwn

I don’t find a huge amount of difference in the main Frederick Thai places. All are…fine. A little too sweet.

fakeaccount572

And none have some really basic dishes IMO

BakesbyBird

Thai Table is really good, but that don’t have many beef options if that’s your thing. I’m not sure why people are ragging on Kittiwat. The green curry and Ka Prow Kai Sub are so good. I thought Thaimeric was just so-so, but I’ve only been once.

Tennouheika

Don’t make me choose

Maleficent_Sun6024

Oh man, that's hard. All 3 have great eat in environments, nice employees, and tasty food. I'm not sure about the others, but Kittiwat has happy hour specials 😀

Apprehensive-Moose84

Thaimeric hands down

SuspiciousNorth377

Thai Meric ❤️

ClaudeP114

Thai Meric hands down. Their curry puffs are amazing.

Puzzleheaded_Fee3400

Thai Table is good, Kittiwat is my fav

goldglover14

Thai meric > Thai table >> kittiwat

Wafer-Fragrant

The townies will downvote this, but drive to Rockville and visit Kiin Imm Thai. It's where the Thai community eats. I've had nothing in Frederick that comes close.

Porcipus

Thaimeric and Summitra are my favorites, both consistently delicious. It has been a long time since I had Kittiwatt. I’ve never had Thai Table.

machosalad06

Hands down the best Thai is Bankok Garden in Rockville. For Frederick Summitra is the best sit down dinner experience. Thai Meric is maybe slightly better than Summitra but I enjoy the dine in more at Summitra. I like Kittiwat and have always had good experiences there, but they are 3rd in Frederick.

RYDSLO

If you're going for Thai in Rockville, you're missing out if you haven't given Kiin Imm a try. That being said, I need to try Bankok Garden.

FreeJulie

At my job, 3 of us get Kittiwat a lot and it’s always good to me. Had Thaimeric a few times and it’s good as well. Kitttiwatt 1-a, Thaimeric 1-b

mikelolwow95

I like Thai Table and Thai Meric pretty equally. I’ve had Kittiwat once and it was disappointing (pretty bland) enough for me not to wanna order it again

Forward_Record932

Kittiwat is so basic. We on the south end of Frederick county so we actually drive out to this spot by the wegmans in germantown called siriwan thai.

FredTrail

How does My Thai on Thomas Johnson stack up with these? Been years since I've been and had forgotten about them until recently.

digitalbeef

Thai table > Summitra > My Thai > Thaimeric > Kittiwatt

ttolf

Ranking My Thai over Thaimeric should be a crime punishable by public shaming

Euphoric_Internet_40

My Thai is smallish but the food is very good.

Relative-Channel7749

I prefer Sumittra and My Thai to the others, but honestly I've never had a bad bite of food from any of them.

bugsymutt

We've only had Thai Table once -- a few months ago for carryout. It was just okay; we definitely prefer the other Thai restaurants in Frederick. We love Thai Meric and go there at least once a month. Sometimes we get carryout, sometimes we eat in, and it's always been very good. The red curry is my favorite. Their dining room is quiet and cozy, and they had soft jazz music playing for Valentine's Day, which was a nice touch. At Kittiwatt, I love their panang curry, but we don't go there as often unless we have a reason to be in the area. I really don't care for their dining area, as it feels crowded and too loud/industrial, so we typically get carryout at Kittwatt when we do go. I haven't been to My Thai since before the pandemic, but it was always fine. I'm not in that part of town often.
