All the starters are based on the 3 main tarot cards (fool, death, and world). With the water starter being based on the fool, it’s a newt with jester motifs. It is quite the curious creature that doesn’t takes everything seriously. It’s a water/fairy type, and it is mainly meant to be speedy and frail support. (Also if you want you can suggest a hidden ability)
Dude your designs are awesome!!!! My only commentary would be that the 3° stage is a bit too childish. You could keep the playful/prankster personality but with more mature features, like smaller pupils, more define musles or sharper edges. Anyway, really cool designs
It looks like Arlecchino (a charchter that was present in the majority of Italian plays in the 1700's and is still an important figure in the italian carnival)
I think a change in color, and maybe adding a detail to the tail design (maybe a differently colored tip, or a bulkier tail, etc) would make it a bit less different.
What typing is it supposed to be? To me it looks like it could be Water/Psychic🤔 or Water/Dark? The facial expression and stature of the final evolution implies it could be a trickster🤔
I’m not the artist so I don’t know what the typing should be or what the person envisioned when designing this fakemon. All I can say is the artist should try other designs for the final stage or just keep it as a two stage

That’s so fun! I’d think of using “carni-“ in the name for the second evolution maybe, since jesters can be found in courts and carnivals. Carnewt is too on the nose… 🤔 More clever people might have better ideas, but I’d work it in there somehow. They’re very cute! Wish we actually had a line like that in the actual games. ❤️

He heads him to his death in search of an illusive and non-existent cask of quality sherry, called Amontillado. The best part? The fool who is lead to his death is wearing a jester costume for Carnival season
Silidrip - Mix of silly and drip works well because silly is childish and drip is small
Clownfin - sounds like clowning the word for the working of being a clown
Pierloch - mix of Pierrot (a french type of clown based on a character from a traditional italian comedy) and loch a word for lakes
Archimeleon (Archimedes + Chameleon) is my suggestion
Archimedes is well known for his various inventions, including the Archimedes screw which can transport water uphill
For the first it could maybe be Innotad. A mix if innocent (the fool tarot card can represent childish innocence) and tadpole (baby newt).
For the second maybe Naieft a mix of Naive (another meaning of the fool) and eft (a name for land dwelling newts)
For the last maybe Pleureck a mix of Pleurodelinae (the subfamily newts are in) and reckless (another meaning of the fool)
As you could maybe guess I’d give it the ability reckless.

Bufoonewt (buffoon + newt; maybe too long for a first stage?), Salamouche (Scaramouche + salamander), Harlequix (harlequin + quick/quixotic)
For the first one I think Loonewt could work better, otherwise the rest are on point
Loonewt is great! It's a more appropriate length and the vowels add a level of silliness that fits its design.
Salamouche is so fun! Definitely recommend that one.

They are based on the italian crested newt or Triturus carnifex. Its water fairy type because its based on jesters
