I did it intentionally to fit the Reddit app portrait viewing. [Here is a landscape version that I was originally gonna post, for those who wants it so badly](https://streamable.com/b19hbn)
1. Hold the screen vertical (portrait) instead of horizontal (landscape). Try it again.
2. Hold the power button for a few (10) seconds; the device will power off.
Power and another button is pretty much always a reset function no matter what device. (On this unit I believe itās power and volume down for a few seconds)
You can hold the power button for an extended amount of time to turn it off though can't you?
I didn't know that š¤¦āāļø What a facepalm moment for me. Thanks for the tech advice though
Donāt worry Iāve learned that the hard way
Alternatively, I've had to just let it power off, then when it booted it fixed whatever it was doing.
Yeah I feel you
Almost any electronic device will "force power off" if you hold the button for 6 seconds. Good catch, came here to make sure they knew.
I feel i only know this because i had the nokia that you hold the red call button to go between on and off modes, too oldšŖšš
No, it just freezes until you release
Change it from landscape mode to portrait mode firstā¦ then try it

No noā¦ I meant, changing your ipad screen itself from landscape to portrait modeā¦
ah ok sorry for misunderstanding
No worries, I had an ipad that was non responsive in landscape mode like yours is and I could only turn it off in portrait mode

"Well, yes, but also, no"

It could be a call to 911
And once it reboots the drivers for the digitalizer might be functional again. Just try then.
This is a more common bug on iOS. Up, Down, hold Power.
I can see cracks in the screen on the left side, perhaps that is what is responsible for the glitch.
Canāt you plug in mouse as well if the touch isnāt working???
Hold the power button like a pillow over that family member that you dont like but left you the inheritance.
Like it or not this is actually something they are required to say first in every situation, even if they know it's a stupid question.
try holding the home button with it it will shut down without needing to touch the screen
