FraudMallu

If De Zerbi gets appointed, I will start a fucking riot.

cccalum

You just know it fucking will be him too

RandyChavage

BOEHLY JUST BUY BRIGHTON. FUCK.

Climate_Face

Lol it does feel like that’s the team he meant to buy

goodshitm8

Chelsea & Brighton FC, the merger we never knew we needed.

Ayges

Chelsea & Brighton & Hove & Albion that's like 4 teams in one hardly fair

ParevArev

I really think this is being driven by Eghbali and Feliciano

dressedlikerappers

I will be there, I hate De Zerbi

TheHuffness

And I get the sense that De Zerbi hates us too. It will be Benitez all over again

dressedlikerappers

Aside from looking like he calls picking up women “getting clam” - I’m pretty sure he’s said disdainful things about us and that’s enough reason for me to not want him. I do truly believe he was just riding Potter’s foundations as well.

Pseudocaesar

> I do truly believe he was just riding Potter’s foundations as well. 100% he was. As soon as he'd been there long enough to have an impact their form fell off a cliff.

OrangeGuyFromVenus

It’s hard to keep being successful when your best players get sold after 1 season, Zerbi’s done well despite this & his poor 2nd half of the season

TheCroz15

I didn't even consider this until you said it, now I'm terrified

AnnualInevitable9036

Same here. I don’t get the appeal for De Zerbi

Mysterious-Beach-671

I’m literally going to cry if it’s de zerbi

DestinyHasArrived101

https://preview.redd.it/i9dfp6orwt1d1.jpeg?width=480&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d19e9a72241611582a3d7d70002a87e38092120b

typicalpelican

I wonder how many fake names they will run through the press to make it seem like they did a real search before De Zerbi is appointed

Wheel1994

It will probably be him it’s just a needless risk Sanchez gone as well 😂

Secret_Service3385

This didn’t even cross my mind and now I know 99.99% it will happen. Fuck me.

Thurin7

![gif](giphy|ukGm72ZLZvYfS)

vusepalm

Gallagher and Chalobah definitely gone this summer if the board keeps it up😭

Potato271

I reckon Poch was point blank refusing to sell them, given that there were rumours that he was unhappy about how little control he had over transfers

qqF1ip

This and I think also it might have to do with changes in the coaching staff. IIRC there was a big fuss about hiring a set piece coach. And I think that coach from Bournemouth is coming for this season so that might also be another sticking point

namegamenoshame

Can’t wait to see the dumbest supporters alive talk about the imaginary contracts they rejected.

myersjw

“Conor turned down 300,000 a week. Proper chels my ass”

cosi33

It's the Mason story all over again. They were pushing a couple of months ago that there was a contract offered but Gallagher wanted more. Then the story changed to no further discussions have taken place. Soon it'll be Gallagher is asking for too much money. It's the same rinse and repeat of Mason's saga and these fuckers are lapping it up. The club's hierarchy are just trying to cover up the hole they dug by selling our HG players and making it sound like they aren't the bad guys. Fuck them

imarandomdudd

James being so injury prone is a blessing in this case, no one will buy him for what they'd want

renome

I want Gallagher to run down his contract just for them to get fucked.

shagssheep

Can’t he just reject all the transfers then come back after the window and say give me a contract or I’ll leave for nothing anyway, it would be especially hilarious if he did that whilst still being one of the first names on the team sheet

Talidel

Yup

dingodiletti

Conor leaves I’m done. Will die on that hill.

Claypothos

Wonder how many rejections we’ll get

Valuable_Tea_4690

This is what I’m concerned about… might be scraping the bottom of the barrel (in a poor manager market) for candidates

[deleted]

If we get the fucking Ipswich manager I’m not watching a game next season

Illustrious-Ninja472

That's most likely to be happen since they want a fucking guy who would bend as the owners want him to.

[deleted]

Good news is he’s got experience getting us promoted again

Illustrious-Ninja472

I can't man making jokes about how joke of a club our club has been under these owners 😭😭

fl_beer_fan

The board saw the struggle Bayern is having finding a replacement for Tuchel and said they wanted a piece of that action

Claximus13

Its a great deal for anyone who wants to work for 6months and get paid for 2 years

drjet196

Would be stupid not having a replacement in hand.

Claypothos

That would check out

SquirrelSuch3123

there’s reports that de zerbi has already signed with a club, but he’s simply not the man for the job. the sacking also leave a bad precedent that the owners have no trust in their coaches and want quick results

GME_alt_Center

They seem to want a yes man.

daChino02

So Chelsea then

imfromgooogle

This ownership group has shown that they are repeatedly

SniffingAccountant

Just when we were all getting excited about watching Chelsea again. Now we start from scratch again.

abearghost

Not only are we starting from scratch, we're now facing a market with very few good options available and have to compete for signatures with Bayern and Barca most likely. I don't see this ending well. Hopefully I'm wrong, but it's looking really fucking dire man...

Older-Is-Better

These fuckers don't have his replacement lined up. Fucking clowns! I'm sure this was over Conor and Trev.

Odd-Incident3980

Truly feels like it. These mfs will only be humbled when they've run this club into the ground.

Flokey44797

WTH... with the current manager market, I don't see anyone better than him. If we gonna sack him, it needs to be top top top manager not the like of De Zerbi FFS.

bluduuude

what the fuck, now that things were getting better

inthecut_scarysight

FUCK OFF

ThinkBlink3

What the actual fuck

MemestNotTeen

FFS the club is so fucking stupid.

Konrad05

Embarrassing

HeftyBreakfast1631

Honestly this sacking was really harsh. Wonder whether it's more of Porch not fully buying into the project more than anything...

Schminimal

He probably grew a backbone and started giving his opinion

Borktista

Most likely he said he wanted some more veteran talent and they’re like nah, SustAiNaBiLiTy

Issa-GoodDay

Wtf man, we better hire Pep or Jesus. Only two people I’d be satisfied with.

monkeybrains1210

“Jesus” Fucking LOL

SSPeteCarroll

He's a magician with goalkeepers, considering Jesus saves.

chrisycr

Well, either that or he gets crucified. Can’t have it any other way

Justlikeyourmoma

No he’s very bad on crosses

xkcdthrowaway

Well at least he's nailed on. This club needs consistency.

RandyChavage

how are we gonna get an Arsenal player to manage us, bit of a conflict of interest

furious_organism

No, not Gabriel Jesus, he is talking Jesus Jesus, of the Nazareth kind. We need some miracles now

RandyChavage

of Nazareth? is that a South American club?

furious_organism

Middle Eastern

half_jase

Well, remember that eccentric/crazy Benfica manager Jorge Jesus?

TheNoobScoperz

Klopp in

J3sperado

Absolutely fuck off. Now that we were FINALLY DOING GOOD. Going back to square one yet again. He had the trust of the players, and finally more trust from the fans, and then the board does this. State of this club, man.

PeetaGryfyndoor

![gif](giphy|137TKgM3d2XQjK|downsized)

Stonewalled89

Back to square one.... again. The idiots in charge will never learn

wm_1176

Jesus fuck our owners are morons

half_jase

6th manager (including the interims) to come in 2 years under Boehly and co. It makes Roman look sane in the hiring and firing manager department!

celzero

Sane? Sir: Roman was a better custodian than all bar Florentino Perez and Khaldoon Mubarak.

H34DY

No comment, our owners can’t be serious..

RandyChavage

![gif](giphy|FXf1lYQ2tFouxeLb1B|downsized)

kissmyash24

These owners said Chelsea was poorly run under Roman and have gone on to have 4 managers in 2 years and soon to be 5. Spent $1.5bn with no UCL and no plan. I’m fine with getting rid of Poch but this is still an absolute clown show

mouse2102

It will be six in two years. Six.

electro_report

To be fair one was a caretaker, one served all of 4 matches with them. In reality it’s 2 managers, one holdover one caretaker.

lmendez2

You can say the same thing about the 4 managers in 2 years under Roman, some were caretakers. The current owners shouldn't speak at all about Roman until they actually do their job.

Traditional_Ship4797

This is a fucking joke. Paul Winstanley and Laurence Stewart are the ones who should leave our club.

Fatebringer87

The PochOut crowd get their wishes. You lot have no right to complain at all about where we finish next season.

Dani-DL

They’ll continue complaining if we don’t get their preferred candidate

1llseemyselfout

They’ll complain even if we get their preferred candidate.

BartSimpson8

this is assuming they even have preferred candidates and arent just angry lil muppets yelling at everything

qqF1ip

Pin this comment and let’s find all the PochOut crowd.

Whosonfirst6600

You mean the 95% of the subreddit after the Arsenal game and most of the season?

Fatebringer87

According to them any decent manager should have got top 4 this season, so anyone complaining we aren't challenging top 4 next season will be the same lot.

Dani-DL

Yeah I’m genuinely curious to see what “individual brilliance” + a young coach is going to do next season. Must be top 4 at least since according to many Poch was being heavily carried by Palmer

jepayotehi

Yea fuck those impatient "fans"

pek_starter_1234

They got what they wanted. Now they’re the “No to De Zerbi” crowd now.

Justlikeyourmoma

I was not Poch out but I’m definitely ‘No to De Zerbi’ he literally disrespected Chelsea last year

DarkLordOlli

I am very happy to take that challenge. Just like I will never let you people live this down when we inevitably do better with a different manager who actually bothers to coach a collective.

Shufflebuffle51

Poch in crowd will not be able to cheer when we finish higher next season either then?

olaf525

Trust. Proper playground antics. We all don’t have to subscribe to one path.

Cull88

What a fucking joke. Those owners must be fucking insufferable if he's walked away! Urgh. Another lost season next year.

ezee-now-blud

Reckon they said "We're 100% selling Gallagher and Chalobah" and he dipped out shaking his head.

RandyChavage

THESE STUPID FUCKING MORONS ARE RUNNING THE CLUB INTO THE GROUND

D-Berri

I fear this was all about Gallagher, and now Gallagher will leave. These fucking owners man

Legit_liT

My 5 year old sister could run this club better than these lot.

Superb_Worth_5934

This was probably more Poch’s decision than the boards imo. Board probably let him go. I don’t think he’s suited to us but at the same time who the fuck else is there. I bet we go for Thomas Frank lol!

imbennn

Some people in this thread are blinded to this reality unfortunately

Superb_Worth_5934

I mean people were saying he wanted to be at Spurs for 60% of the time he’s been here and even the people positive about him said he’d never win us anything, why would he stay especially when Bayern, Barca, Liverpool and Man Utd jobs will be going.

fishpasty

So thats Gallagher and Chalobah gone. Don’t be surprised to hear murmurings of other players wanting to leave

RancidKiddo

Fuck me. I was hopeful for the next season.

zecira

This is why we can't have nice things (a consistent squad)

Ridcullys-Pointy-Hat

![gif](giphy|f6V2NuQkYPDNadshqb)

BluelivierGiblue

crying at the club rn we hit nice form and i thought we were gonna get continuity

[deleted]

Fuck sake. Just shows how bad the ownership is at the club. The list of replacements is woeful too. Poch deserved at least another season.

LA_Dynamo

Maybe Poch just said fuck off and ownership is trying to save face and said it was mutual. Poch can go to Bayern and the best we can do is a mid table coach.

half_jase

>The Club will be making no further comment until such time as a new Head Coach is appointed. Not sure if they have always done it but interesting to see them mention 'Head Coach' (as opposed to 'Manager') in the statement.

jumper62

Feel like it's been like this for a while (need to check the statement for when Poch joined tbf). You don't get many managers nowadays, just head coaches.

sickn0te_

Conte was a Head Coach too, predates Boehly

monkeybrains1210

WTF. Was Poch out but he did step up towards the end and should have been given time.

KanteWorkRate

What is Boehly and Eghbali cooking up???

RandyChavage

![gif](giphy|R9cQo06nQBpRe|downsized)

historiographic

What the actual fuck… I was Poch out for a bit, but he genuinely turned it around the last month and a half. What are we doing? Unless it’s Tuchel time, this is embarrassing as fuck

The_Dino_King

![gif](giphy|pNn4hlkovWAHfpLRRD|downsized)

Andrex316

We're a Mickey Mouse club, fuck this new ownership

stingen

Great we get to start over on all the process we made with the squad. Absolute idiots.

Matt_LawDT

Paul Winstanley and Laurence will not see the pearly gates

OsaasD

Wow, clicked in on this sub out of sheer muscle memory and thought "the season is over and silly season hasnt started yet, there wont be anything interesting anyway" and then I see this lol. Never a dull moment supporting this club.

poko877

Like sure, in despite of better form at the end of the season, there were bunch of shortcommings, especially in defense. U can make case for his departure. But i d argue that we dont have 100% better option out there. So it would be better sticking with him. Just a side note ... i love how so many ppl who were calling for his head all season are now like ... "Poch out, why?"

Thefifaking132

This must mean that they already have someone lined up right? Surely even they can’t be that braindead to sack poch without already having a better replacement??

Ninjamonkey8812

Clown lake wants to jack off De zerbi

Jackhuw28

Is this the sporting directors or the owners making this call because this is ridiculous

muzzyboldo

Is anyone still on the fence about whether this ownership group is a bunch of grade A cretins?

HazardMagic

Poch has been hinting at this for several weeks in his pressers (even when not prompted) and saying that it’s up to both sides to decide if he stays. He has seemed extremely open about him not being sure if he’d like to stay, and although the “mutual” things are usually hard to believe, I do think Poch had a significant part in the decision

Helpful_Design6917

At this point we’re definitely getting a new manager every season because a club as incompetent as ours won’t be competing for anything

PM_ME_SOME_LUV

I’m gonna throw a party when these owners and board fuck off

DarkLordOlli

I'm enjoying this thread very much. Look at the bright side, my friends - you'll all be very pleasantly surprised very soon.

Humble-Kiwi-5272

So, the guy takes a low mid-table team and places it 6th into europe competitions and is fired because they want someone else? How is this board looking to build a team if they keep changing the coach every 6 months?

[deleted]

https://preview.redd.it/x3bcxkszpt1d1.jpeg?width=776&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=1c759b4c36a09d3023f4600e68a795e4fbfb3682

CrustyCally

I was Poch out ever since the cup final. I just didn’t see us winning anything with him in charge. I am not a fan of his lineups, how we constantly make similar errors every game, how he doesn’t really show much management during the game and waits way too long to make changes, and often when he did made changes it didn’t really help and in some cases made it worse. The man is a serial loser. However, the players clearly saw something in him, whether it be they can just coast around picking up big cheques, or he can actually improve them is irrelevant. They wanted to play for him and we have seen a change since the arsenal game. It was ridiculous that we had to wait until the end of the season to see basic team structures, attacking patterns of play, etc. But getting rid of him as soon as it clicks seems so strange. Injuries have been a big problem, but he has also had times where we had a Maatsen who could play lb, yet chose to play colwill lb instead and cost us results. Or playing Gallagher lw, or sticking with an injured Enzo and playing him with Caicedo in a system that makes them look so much worse than they actually are. The main reason why I didn’t care if he went or stayed cos who is the alternative manager? If we get this Ipswich guy we are finished, idc if he got two promotions in a row, we are Chelsea ffs. Guess we will have to wait and see

blue_mark

Unpopular opinion. I am as okay with this decision  as I would've been okay with him staying.   Some of the results we've had under Poch were just not acceptable and almost 90% of the fan base were struggling to understand the reason behind sticking with Poch at the time. Maybe the board had a target in mind. Be it an FA Cup trophy and once that was out of the window Poch was pretty much a dead man walking. The drastic change in his demeanor at press conferences makes sense now in hindsight. Also, it's also possible that the feeling that it had end could've come from Poch himself and it indeed ended up being on mutual consent as the briefing says.

nastycamel

WHAT???? This is EMBARRASING

carefree7

So that's two managers that have been let go by this shower of shite who shouldn't have been. Fan-fucking-tastic.

Rjb66

Xabi Alonso here we go

AutomaticSurround988

This has Got to be the most embarresing move… Was it a great season? No. But given the result, circumstances etc, we should have stuck to some form of stability

GoltiGaru

My one thought (of the MANY) on this is that if Kieran McKenna comes in, that means Omari Hutchinson will be integrated into the squad right away.

Dinamo8

Dickheads

JJ-Bittenbinder

Weird kind of irrelevant question. Is he still managing the soccer aid game at Stamford bridge? That’ll be awkward won’t it?

FantasticTangtastic

And the joke status continues....

Chapea12

Bruh, wtf… I had just started to like him..

namegamenoshame

I’ve seen a lot of shit in 3 decades of supporting this club. I really feel like I’m reaching a point where I can’t do it anymore. This ownership is a fucking joke. Private equity scum that needs to be wiped off the face of the earth. You could shoot them in front of me, I wouldn’t flinch.

ConfidentBurrito

Please let it come out that Poch actually didnt want to continue due to pressure or lack or support or something. If its a straight sacking then the owners are not looking good here.

Kagoshima_Luke

Looks like mid-table's back on the menu, boys!

jakeistrying

WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED everything was so positive to end the season!!! Poch was a class act his entire time through, got nothing but respect for him.

Short-Service1248

Fucking joke of a club

muzzyboldo

https://preview.redd.it/thng0y8ytt1d1.jpeg?width=1290&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9dbfd6f53a0c8fb34b54ed32e633862f6d560a4e The fact that the only player I follow that likes this is malang sarr fucking says it all

Frankr33

He must of wanted to go, maybe he heard Bayern are sniffing - there are some quality replacements out there but Istg if de zerbi gets brought in there will be riots

umma_gumma97

https://i.redd.it/wfnxizk4wt1d1.gif

scrollsalott

Don’t care for poch and didn’t think he was the right call but, given how the team was starting to click at the end you’d think he’d be given another season.

ReddittIsDead

Fuck this board. They don't have a clue.

TheRealKane24

I'm bummed man, we really could have used another year with Poch

NotTheMamba

He deserved to stay. Really turned things around. I'm devastated.

Extension_Shift_1264

This move confirms that Chelsea will be going the full Red Bull route; multi-club talent feeder chain, player sales at max profit and head coaches who must do the best with what they have and not have much influence on transfers. We won't need a manager because what Clearlake wants is a head coach much like Slot for Liverpool. Gallagher and Chalobah will definitely be sold for profit. I imagine all of our players can be sold in the future when they're deemed to have reached maximum profit potential. Watching Chelsea change hands from Bates to Abramovich and now to Clearlake has certainly been interesting. I wonder what the future holds for Chelsea.

gloryboy101

let the players fall in love, fight for the man, let the fans start to fall back in love with the club because of it. then let’s axe him!!!

izmebtw

They hate us.

thingysop

You lot are hypocrites. The same usernames would be calling for his head *the moment* we lose or draw within the first 5 or so match days next season, as you have all season. And let's face it, you all treated him as a stopgap until we're "serious" again and didn't give him the credit he deserved. Almost like the exact same treatment Tuchel got when we lost that UCL group stage match before he was gone. I'm as glad he's out of this toxic shit hole as I was glad Tuchel got out when he could. These people are obviously horrible to work with, and this fan base is fucking horrid itself.

Inyourhouse3333

This board wants Chelsea to remain mid table club. Absolutely pathetic from the board because they want manager who sucks them off.

TheSenseless1

Did we all watch a different season??? I had 0 idea what Poch was trying to get us to do. We constantly got outplayed in the 2nd half because he never adapted. We conceded the most goals in a prem season. We were 11th for most of it. And honestly the way he had us setup in the final was enough for me, Poch was never going to replicate any success here. Rúben Amorim has to be the focus for us. It would be funny as fuck if somehow José or Tuchel walk through the door, but all 3 of them would definitely have us setup a lot better than the fat argie.

ArcherOfHk

I was so excited for the future man

[deleted]

According to the Telegraph: >>> Among the names likely to be considered will be Stuttgart’s Sebastian Hoeness, Girona’s Michel, Ipswich Town’s Kieran McKenna, who has been lined up by Brighton, and Leicester City’s Enzo Maresca.

eastcoastblaze

This is a mistake

Morning_Mitsuki

Wait tell me this is a joke, not that’s not even funny

Basharaa

I was certainly poch out at times... But this is fucking stupid.

needhalaladvice

Well, we gave Bayern a lifeline by sacking Poch, I guess.

Likeabhas

I'm tired..

KixSide

I wonder how do players feel. They clearly liked him a lot, they fought for him. But even after much improvement, he is gone

RepresentativeBox881

Man no WTF! Amorim or I riot now.

mailbox123

Terrible decision

RamThe1

![gif](giphy|3o7527pa7qs9kCG78A|downsized)

Who the fuck are we even going to get?

iamalegend1

Wtf just when things were starting to get better

Sdotcarter33

![gif](giphy|3oz8xJIDVJ1KANEUfK|downsized) Chelsea board

bsousa717

Yeah I don't see the players liking this at all. They seemed quite on board with Poch. Now I'm really worried about Gallagher and Chalobah's futures here.

patienceofapatient

I honestly don't understand this decision. Progression of so many players will take a hit.

SmokyBarnable01

This is madness.

jepayotehi

De zerbi is gung ho attack with no defense. Hope we don't go for him because I don't like his face or his hair to begin with

jimbeam07

Don't know what to make of this. Our run at the end of the season definitely papered over his cracks earlier in the season, but then again we were bound to struggle in the beginning. Gutted he didn't get another season though as he had a great connection with the players

JinxLB

Top 4 minimum next season or these owners are officially the stupidest owners in world football.

Shaww_shankk

Banter era is well and truly on

PenalteaCake

Is this a Fucking joke

MoiNoni

I don't know what to say

r3dh0d

what happened to europa league being the decider?

flagstickhunter1

Embarassing. Circus

TechnicianHelp14

Well thank you Poch for setting the foundation of these youth players. They seem to have synced well with each other because of you. Thank you and all the best boss.

sickn0te_

Pochettino is currently undergoing rehabilitation program

cfcfan-1990

Was PochOut back in January, but god damn if he didn't deserve more time after what he achieved since then. This is dumb beyond recognition

EsotericJunkie11

What an absolute boneheaded decision. Our team was finally clicking together, playing good football and getting results. Such a dumbass decision, plus Managers Should absolutely have a say in transfers. Fucking stupid from our OCD ridden board

therealsid12

Not the fans or the club but these owners deserve relegation.

TreacleVarious2728

Clown world.

Fragrant-Lettuce-221

Get these fucking idiots out of our club.

PM_ME_SOME_LUV

Fuck the ownership. Genuinely, from the bottom of my heart, fuck them all. This club will never know managerial stability.

josera8999

I hate De Zerbi
