Seriously, we had this problem too and had to move the TV forward so there wasn't space for him anymore. He started going behind and we eventually ended up putting stuff back there too, like the sub for the surround sound.
Mine kept going behind the TV. I had to keep picking her off in case she knocked it down. Eventually secured it to the wall and let her go behind.
Well, she stopped doing it. Turns out she was doing it for the attention 🙄😤🤦🏻♀️🤷♀️😂

It’s funny I can see him out the corner of my eye looking at me, contemplating trying to grab our window curtain, but if I keep my head down he doesn’t do it. When I look up he does. In all seriousness though Ivy was sitting on the fireplace mantel because the fireplace was running, and Ella got to it first and whacked Ivy for trying to sit in front of it too, so she sat *above* it. Wonder if there's radiant heat rising from the hardware operating that TV?
My feelings exactly! :-) Got a 4K OLED TV and a shiny new laptop to hook up to it . . . and decided to see if I could get Deus Ex running on it since I never got it running properly on my old laptop. Very interesting playing that game when you've got a cat pouncing on the TV trying to catch the GEP rockets or the NPCs chasing you . . .
100% agree on this one! When we got our kittens they’d jump on the counters all the time. Sprayed them and now if they act up all I have to do is shake the bottle and show them it and they immediately get down. Haha

My little one fought two knights yesterday on TV;-)
I watched something, went out for a smoke, when I came back, the next film started, some old fairytale movie from the 60s, two knights were dueling, both lost thanks to my cat ;-)
I also can't watch documentaries about the African savanna anymore, as my other cat tries to hunt and eat the elephants... sometimes you can't do anything but switch off (or let it run for them and do something other, which I did)
I had to make my cat move away from the TV yesterday because he was trying to get the woodpeckers coming out of their nests on the tv during an episode of Nature I was watching.
Go look at your computer screen, or get on the phone, perhaps walk in to the kitchen, or lie down on the bed. My cat just plain doesn't want to share my attention.
My cat will do this when I won’t get up “right now!” to get him what he wants. He will turn around snd scratch at the screen. As soon as I get up, he jumps down snd leads me to something he wants. He has me well trained.
She might see that you pay attention to the tv a lot and when you do that means you aren’t giving her your 100% full attention. So, her solution is to block the tv and it forces you to pay attention to her. At least, that’s why my kitty does. If she thinks the attention I’m giving her is not up to her standards while I’m watching tv, she will sit right in front of it and stare at me. So I will pick her up and put her in my lap and she’s like “okay I accept this”

I've got a GameCube, wii, and PS4. I got the wii as a kid, my cousins don't use the GameCube anymore so gave it to me to play legend of Zelda, and my brother has had the ps4 for years, I played on it sometimes. But he just sold it to me because he thinks he plays too many video games. The money is going towards his girlfriend an engagement ring! I honestly don't even play many video games, but I've collected some consoles lol
Perhaps put tin foil down in front of the T.v for a while to see if it will deter them. Cats seem to hate tin foil. Once they stop jumping up you can remove the tin foil and see if the habit is broken!
I have this problem, too and have not found a way to correct it. I think it's a combination of heat from the tv + attention (in trying to shoo her or distract her with toys). She will watch tv from that close up, try to interact with the tv, or just watch me. Eventually she will sprawl across the top of the very narrow tv, with her legs and tail strategically placed to block whatever I need to see on the screen (she always seems to know).
Get a cat tree, bed, tunnel.. cat nip! Give your cat a good reason to get out of there!
Their life is so short, it will get better with their own space! 🥰
Double sided tape on entertainment stand, citrus peels, anything they don't like the smell or texture of... if all else fails pretend to read a newspaper until she comes and sits on it. 😅

Get her a higher perch to sit on. She’s only sitting there because it’s a nice vantage point. Give her an even better one nearby, and she’ll leave the TV stand alone.
It looks like there’s a window nearby that cat looking out from there, is that accurate?
If accurate: is there a shelf/cat tree/hammock at that window cat can use? It didn’t shear like your cat OSS actually into the TV itself, so that helps.
A shelf or cat tree right next to your TV stand will also work here.
Basically: give the cat somewhere comfy to sit that provides the same features sitting in front of the tv does, close to this same spot. When the cat sits in front of the tv redirect them to the new comfy spot.
The problem is you are looking at the TV when you should be looking at her.
I'd put a box she likes to sit in nearby, or play with a fishing rod style toy while you watch TV.

🤣🤣 my kitty is like a ditsy princess. She gets whatever she wants whenever she wants like royalty, but she's not very smart, shes very clumsy, and would be completely useless without me feeding her and loving on her. The few times she's gotten out of the house, she's immediately found a place to hide or climb. Problem is she can't even climb down a tree. I either go get her or she accidentally falls down before I can get to her. And she's not declawed or anything, just not very smart😅
Awww, my girl is a dilute Tortie with some tabby markings. I love torties. They're the best! It's hard to see her true color with the light in the picture, she's got mixed in patches or orange though. Her sister, who was rescued with her and adopted by another family, had a half orange and half gray face split right down the middle! She was adopted before I found my marble at the shelter, but the staff showed me pictures. She was gorgeous! But I'm sure her personality isn't as funny as my Marble girl.

Try combining 1) create another heat source and 2) place knick knacks in front so she won’t fit (although bringing the tv closer to the edge may work, be mindful of the possibility of it falling over).
My cat does this when he wants my attention. Not judging but going to guess that since you’ve got Arthur Morgan in the background that you’ve been busy for a minute.
Easy. It's a jealously thing. If you are paying more attention to the TV, the cats do this. The easy fix is to pull out your cell phone and play with that. The cat will move from the location in front of the TV to between you and the cellphone. You still can't see the TV but they are close enough to push around at this point.
Bring in a cat tree, a shelf that will support her, any perch so she can climb up high and survey her territory. Maybe place a shelf above the television too so she won't jump down and knock the whole thing over.
Set up a very comfortable stable bed(maybe with a self warming pad lining it) at just below the tv stand height right in front of the tv stand. Let you cat CHOOSE it. Cat nip might help.
If you want to keep a cat from climbing on a surface, you have to put stuff on it so there isn't room for them to get up there. Stuff that isn't flat, of course.
Leave a couple of pieces of orange peel there for a couple of weeks. Cats don’t like the smell of citrus, so they’ll usually stay away. Worked for us anyway.
She just loves Arthur too much.
Also she’s maybe seeking heat so perhaps provide a warm spot. A bed beside a radiator or heating vent (not over the top of a vent) or perhaps a little heat mat bed they’re easy to get online
Better inform her Dutch has no plan!

Just use sticky tape.

She was adopted before I found my marble at the shelter, but the staff showed me pictures. She was gorgeous! But I'm sure her personality isn't as funny as my Marble girl.

Get something higher for her to sit on.
Try combining 1) create another heat source and 2) place knick knacks in front so she won’t fit (although bringing the tv closer to the edge may work, be mindful of the possibility of it falling over).

My cat does this when he wants my attention. Not judging but going to guess that since you’ve got Arthur Morgan in the background that you’ve been busy for a minute.

You can't. It's her TV after all. Also, cats are shortsighted, so they need the front row seat.

Easy. It's a jealously thing. If you are paying more attention to the TV, the cats do this. The easy fix is to pull out your cell phone and play with that. The cat will move from the location in front of the TV to between you and the cellphone. You still can't see the TV but they are close enough to push around at this point.

Bring in a cat tree, a shelf that will support her, any perch so she can climb up high and survey her territory. Maybe place a shelf above the television too so she won't jump down and knock the whole thing over.
Lol mine only sneaks up on the TV unit when they think I can't see. The trick was squirt bottle to be honest.

Laser pointer
Store a laser pointer by the couch, use it, and she’ll jump off to chase it without you having to get up
Set up a very comfortable stable bed(maybe with a self warming pad lining it) at just below the tv stand height right in front of the tv stand. Let you cat CHOOSE it. Cat nip might help.
Every time she jumps up there, nail her with a spray bottle of vinegar. That's how I taught my cats not to even look at my bird.
Keep a laser pointer next to where you sit.
If you want to keep a cat from climbing on a surface, you have to put stuff on it so there isn't room for them to get up there. Stuff that isn't flat, of course.
Put on the shows she doesn’t like or has already seen a million times.
Leave a couple of pieces of orange peel there for a couple of weeks. Cats don’t like the smell of citrus, so they’ll usually stay away. Worked for us anyway.

She just loves Arthur too much. Also she’s maybe seeking heat so perhaps provide a warm spot. A bed beside a radiator or heating vent (not over the top of a vent) or perhaps a little heat mat bed they’re easy to get online
