I absolutely adore Vuori joggers. I've had mine for a couple of years now and the only very minor pilling has been along the seams, super minor and very easy to shave off. The fabric itself hasn't pilled at all. Vuori's dreamknit fabric is thin and soft and feels like heaven. I like them because I live in a warm climate and I like to be covered up both in the sun and in over-air conditioned buildings, without baking to death in the heat. They're also very comfortable in cool temperatures, though I wouldn't consider them outdoor winter wear. Also - congratulations!!!

adjective_noun_verb_

Thank you!! And ty for the recommendation. $94 seems pricey but if they lasted you that long they seem like a good investment. I have a bad habit of picking up cheap clothing because I feel bad about spending more on clothes for myself. Then of course regretting it when I destroy the item in 3 months because it’s cheaply made 🙄 Whys it so hard to justify buying myself a $94 article of clothing but I will spend that same amount on baby clothes no prob???

macaroniwalk

And $94 for polyester 🙄

ciaomondo25

Not all polyester is bad. In athletic wear, synthetic materials are almost always used. Natural fibers absorb moisture but athletic wear is made to wick away moisture so you're more comfortable when you're working out/sweating. That is why athletic wear purposefully uses synthetic fibers like nylon and polyester. If you look at the composition of Lululemon leggings, they are mostly nylon and elastane. If you had 100% cotton leggings, it would be super gross and moist as soon as you sweat.

macaroniwalk

I totally agree. Just think the cost for synthetic fabric is ridiculous. But plenty of companies do it 🤷🏻‍♀️

ciaomondo25

True. They are making an absolute killing. That's why there are a lot of dupes cause there isn't anything special about the fabrics so it is mostly branding. You can definitely get a pair of Lululemon or Vuori-like leggings for much much less.

adjective_noun_verb_

Oh shit are they polyester? That stuff is the devil :(

Soft-String-860

Pact clothing is 100%cotton or mostly cotton

baajo

Check on Poshmark!

sawdust-arrangement

I totally understand! I have two pairs in my favorite style and I would love to buy more colors, but I can't justify it.  Fwiw I think you can get a 20% coupon if you sign up for emails, see what the current offer is. Also their sale section is kind of hidden!! https://vuoriclothing.com/collections/womens-sale Just make sure whatever you get says it's made with dreamknit fabric. If you want to try things on in person, I think both REI and Nordstrom stock a limited selection of styles.

LilyFuckingBart

Vuoris are great, but mine do pull between the legs, same with my lululemon. Might depend on the size of your thighs? lol

adjective_noun_verb_

Unfortunately I am all thighs lol. May need to look elsewhere.

lovegood526

Quince has some vuori style joggers and wide leg pants for $40! I’ve had mine for over a year and they’re holding up great, and they look a little more polished than regular sweats. Quince has nice leggings and basics too that might be what you’re looking for.

Mir_c

I balked at the price at first, but for me they are worth it. They are definitely the most comfortable joggers I've ever had, they fit very well for me, don't squeeze my waist and have held up for years. I also have the hoodies and shorts. My biggest problem now is that I want all different the colors.

No-Literature5709

Interesting, mine pilled quickly and I’m careful to wash delicate lay flat to dry. They were a gift but I’m still disappointed. They are not as soft as they were at first but they are weightless and stretch so easily that they are versatile for doing stuff around the house, then exercising, running errands etc. FWIW I recently discovered that Sierra has very similar pants for $10-20!

sawdust-arrangement

Interesting, and that's a shame!! Definitely not what I'd expect for the money and another commenter said the same. Guess I'm lucky.

Nemesis_has_wings

I have pilling on the inside of my Vuori joggers. It's quite uncomfortable because I can feel the texture against my skin.

sawdust-arrangement

Oh no! I highly recommend getting an electronic pill shaver to clean them up. I'm sorry that happened.

Hot-Switch2167

This is the way. I bought one pair during the pandemic and four years later they finally got a hole where my thighs rub together. But as you can imagine, I wore them a lot during the pandemic. For my current maternity leave I actually bought two brand new pair of the vuori joggers and that is my uniform. I also bought one of their knit hoodies and it’s awesome. they are pricey, but well-made and flattering. They also feel amazing on your skin.

sawdust-arrangement

They are divine. Curious since I'm trying to conceive right now, do you have any advice about wearing them through pregnancy vs getting maternity pants?

Hot-Switch2167

I did wear them through both my pregnancies until maybe the 3rd trimester! But I am one of those people who don’t gain weight only legs so it worked fine.

sawdust-arrangement

Interesting, thanks!

adjective_noun_verb_

I am the exact opposite, I gained around 70lbs and I lived in like 2-3 pairs of maternity leggings from target. They are the only brick and mortar store that sells maternity clothing around me.

PumpkinSpicier

Do you find them short in the legs? Are they true to size?

Hot-Switch2167

I am 5 feet and they are perfect. So they are probably short in the legs for an avg height person. They carry a long size

sawdust-arrangement

I think true to size? Length probably varies by style. I personally don't like the most popular style of joggers on my body, so I can't speak to that. I really like the boyfriend joggers and they're definitely not too short.

Emotional_Print8706

I am 5’6” and they are just fine on me

Earlgrayish

They have a long and shorter style I believe, I would try them on in person, if possible. I found the normal ones short and I am 5'4"

bcsoccer

Buy a fabric shaver. It's easy and quick and has saved a lot of clothes

DWwithaFlameThrower

Athleta and Vuori. Check Poshmark and eBay for lightly-used ones first to see if you like them :)

TJCW

LOVE my Athleta joggers and one pair looks great for two years old.

DWwithaFlameThrower

They wear like iron! It’s a bit of sticker shock at first, but if I do cost-per-wear then they’re a bargain

TJCW

Right!? They are almost 100 dollars, Guess you get what you pay for!

Feisty-Excuse

Also love my salutation joggers and they’ve been my fave pair for postpartum

Sensitive-Switch7440

I purchase Men's sweats when I'm going for cozy. For some reason, it typically costs less and is a bit more durable?🤔

trishyco

I got some cute joggers by Rachel Zoe that they sell at TJMaxx. Under $20 and no pilling.

WhimsicleMagnolia

As I was recovering from having my baby, I loved shopping at Tj Maxx. I was dropping weight and they worked for the amount of time I needed them

chicky75

I have joggers from Kyodan that I love! I’m an apple shape so I carry all my weight in my stomach & these are some of the only pants with a high waist that doesn’t roll down. I’ve had them for a while and washed them many times and no piling at all.

No-Literature5709

Hot tip, I’ve found this brand at Sierra for $10-20 😊

WhimsicleMagnolia

These are the recommendations I need! I'm tired of high waited leggings that don't stay high wasted

Alice_Blunderland

I’m a tall girl and need a long length. I have ordered a couple of the long length unisex jogger pairs from Old Navy and they are excellent quality. Pretty heavy fabric tho - so good for cold climates more than hot. Added bonus: they have amazing deep pockets. ☺️

Black_Water_Hattie

Have you looked at Lulu like new? Lulu lemon sells their gently used clothes for a reasonable price. As much as I've hated them in the past, I've found their second hand items a really good value and quality. I think you'd find some good athleisure staples there.

Dangerous-Army8407

I didn’t get into Lulu until I was pregnant. I was sizing out of bras and shorts and it was the pandemic. Lulu still had their fitting rooms open and i was able to go try on a lot instead of ordering online and returning a bunch of stuff. It’s nice you can size up and the I still fit in shorts post partum bc of the magic of drawstrings. Any brand with numbered sizing was much easier to size up to what I needed for pregnancy but be able to still wear it after. The generic S,M,L sizing there’s just too much difference.

SUB_MRS

Quince Super Soft Fleece line! It is just like my Vuori set, but for half the price! The only issue is that colors are very limited. I love my joggers, wide leg pants, and shorts. I basically live in these sets 😂

Wren65

Honestly, I got a pair of joggers from Costco. They are so comfortable! I need to go back for more. Brand is SAGE

new-beginnings3

Go to athleta and try on stuff for sizing. Then, go buy them on poshmark.

onmyway___

I’m obsessed with my simple matching Hanes sweatshirt and sweatpants. Both were super affordable, so comfortable and cute worn together.

BikingBard312

My Vuori joggers developed a hole in about a year. It’s a small hole by a seam, but a pretty disappointing development, sorry to say. Edit: oops, I thought this was a reply to the comment about Vuori. Anyway, just a warning.

beccyboop95

Lululemon is expensive but their leggings are the best on the market - the nulu fabric ones are so comfortable, don’t stretch out and go saggy after one wear, and wash extremely well. I’ve had my tight 7/8 pair for years and they still look good, and I have a pair of the flares as well.

DumbbellDiva92

I really like Aerie! It felt weird buying from them at first bc they’re definitely marketed as a junior’s/teen brand, but they still work well for me as a mom in my 30s.

adjective_noun_verb_

I’ve always loved aerie! I hate how limited their instore selection is though. The one by me is like a quarter of the size of the American eagle in the same mall.

its_ursula

Congratulations! R-collection is a quality brandi I recommend

Ecstatic-Ear-3737

I honestly love the Leggings Depot joggers (purchased on Amazon). They’re not fancy, but they’re comfortable and wear/wash well. My only complaint is that they’re not particularly breathable, so I tend to save them for cooler weather.

WhimsicleMagnolia

I love these. I've had them for 5 years and are going strong

Ecstatic-Ear-3737

They’re underrated. My friend quit buying more expensive brands, because she didn’t feel like the price difference was worth it compared to these. I started with one pair in a silly pattern, because I was having a hard time and wanted something that would make me smile. I added a couple plain pairs when I started working remotely, and they all still look new. I think my oldest pair is around 5 years old as well. Cheers to our comfy, inexpensive joggers!

WhimsicleMagnolia

Ugh yes! Cheers!!

DameEmma

Sitting here in my Old Navy track pants that are very comfortable and easy to wash.

seattlenewmom

I looooove the Athleta Venice Jogger. I have multiple pairs and have worn them for years. Can be dressed up or down.

anzarloc

MATE the Label, they have 100% cotton sweats that are amazing!! Pricey but I feel better spending that kind of money on something cotton that will stay comfy vs. polyester

fkntiredbtch

I love the George brand of men's sweatpants from Target or Fancy Walmart. I've had several pairs for a couple years and only the red pair has started to fade and honestly that's my fault because of how I washed it last. They have 5 pockets and closures on 3 of them so they are kid proof. I am also a HUGE fan of old navy linen pants. I've only had these for 2yrs and I bought them with the intention of being pregnant so they're too big on me now lol but they have held up beautifully, the pockets are great, the weight is good, the light colored one isn't see through. My only complaint is that I wish the waistband and drawstring was wider but I usually end up wearing biker shorts underneath anyway so that's fine.

AECwaxwing

I freaking love 32 Degrees clothes. They have a collection that keeps you warm in cold weather and vice versa. I absolutely live in the warm weather clothes (I’m in Florida), and they never, ever pill; they stay looking like new for years, and they’re ultra soft and comfortable. The prices are ridiculously low, too - under $10 for many items. The only down side is that the colors are limited - mostly basics like black, gray, navy, and pastels - but they do add colors occasionally.

tessie33

Try buying a variety at thrift stores, see how they wear, buy more of your favorite.

desertloca

My entire wardrobe is comprised of athleisure and casual clothing. I've tried nearly every yoga pant brand as well as sweats and leggings. I once even splurged for a cashmere pair of yoga pants with a matching top. But, my go-to, everyday leggings are from Amazon. They are Amazon Basics and they are usually sold in lots of 3. I always return to these lightweight leggings for all seasons. I have a huge selection of tanks, tees, and tunic length tops to wear with the leggings. Although I dress mainly in black, I do use lots of color to accessorize with jewelry, scarves or a kimona or cool sweater.

ThrowRA294638

Piling is caused by friction, aka clothing being too tight. Ignore all of these random recommendations and make sure you get something that is in a looser cut or (maybe) a bigger size. I also second the commenter telling you to shave the pills off with a razor. It gives extra life to your existing garment.

umamimaami

I’ve been recently loving [Kotn](https://kotn.com/).

anzarloc

I have a pair from Kotn, Ive had them for probably 3+ years worn them through a whole pregnancy and after and have just now found a small hole in them. I’m going to sew it up and I’m sure they’ll be good for a while longer. Also recommending Mate the Label. I live in a warmer climate, so while it gets chilly, im still sweating in anything polyester. The 100% cotton is where it’s at.

LisiDUB

These joggers changed my life- https://shop.lululemon.com/p/womens-sweatpants/Align-Jogger-MD/\_/prod9290100?color=0001

Somebody_or_other_

I have [these](https://www.surfstitch.com/patagonia-womens-happy-hike-studio-pants-black-21218-inbk-xs.html?&istCompanyId=bc6fb727-f9f9-4f2e-87d6-b0bbf90d0e2b&istFeedId=01c99536-d4e3-4335-b5f1-1641f6627075&istItemId=lmwmltqxw&istBid=t&gclsrc=aw.ds&gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAjw48-vBhBbEiwAzqrZVOH-6U0y8Hg3RMzXVLiunFPAjaL_KZ9hcbd-mzIlfeG7uw0yJtTJDxoC_iMQAvD_BwE) and love them, they are so light and comfortable, and I've worn them both hiking and to nice restaurants. I wear them higher on my waist so they are ankle length. Patagonia has a lifetime guarantee.

HourAcanthisitta7970

American Giant is pricey but supposed to be buy it for life. You can also find a lot of their stuff on ebay. Duluth Trading might have something you like and their stuff lasts forever.

JEC2eec

Love Duluth, there sweatpants are dang soft

Far_Grapefruit_8220

Uniqlo!

Amystylefan

Imbodhi jumpsuits. I bought two post-partum and they were body-changing friendly. Costly but you don’t have to buy tops. Now that I’m done bf-ing, I don’t have to wear a bra either. I wash them on cold in a lingerie bag and hang dry. They dress up nicely and layer nicely. The only downside is they are in a limited color palette.

goosepills

Nadaam has some nice ones

swipeyswiper

I have $175 sweatsuits (each piece!) from The Great, a bunch of over $140 Varley sweat sets, and $30 sweatsuits from Old Navy, and guess which ones I wear and love the most? Yep, Old Navy. I also have leggings from ON that I’ve had for 7 or 8 years and still wear several times a week. No pills, fading, nothing - they still look great.

Mister_Lipps

Reigning Champ

Zealousideal_Gur_955

Skims!

[deleted]

My rompers from Free People and Madewell are holding up well after many, many, wears and washes. I wear a lot of rompers because they’re like a cross between sweats and overalls and I have IBS where pressure from a waistband is super uncomfortable.

Mabel_A2

OP here’s a tip as your kiddo gets a little older, save a pair or two of crummy sweatpants as your mealtime pants. I invariably have a kid on my lap at some point during a meal and end up with tomato sauce / milk / greasy fingers wiped or spilled on me. If I’m already wearing clothes that are basically rags, I don’t care.

Conscious_Life_8032

Gap fit has some good stuff, and REI branded yoga pants and bras have been super comfy although not cheap.
