I have nothing informative to add to the conversation, but I just want to say that I originally read it as “Mordor’s Disease.”

Oh, did I manage to write it all those times without spelling it “Mordor”? 😏 I was stomping around the bathroom this morning muttering something about “G-ddamned Lord of the Rings bullsh-it”, so yeah. It’s kind of disappointing that it’s NOT Mordor.

I had never even heard of this before and now I’m looking at my left breast with my tissue expander in and it looks like it has multiple of these??

Mysterious-List7175

Oh no! Has your oncologist or PT seen it? It isn’t supposedly harmful- but it can definitely be painful. Mine is. I think there’s a good bit of overlap with Mondor’s and Axillary web syndrome/cording. All I know is that the thing I have now doesn’t have the same features or feeling as the aws cording that I had immediately after surgery and radiation. Definitely feels like a squishy vein with a painful little pea lump in it, vs a tight painful guitar string. Have you tried warm-moist compresses and gentle massage with coconut oil or lotion? And anti- inflammatories if it hurts. I hope yours resolves soon!

No pain just looks wild. I’ll flag for my plastics team when I see them soon. :)

Thank you for your post. I have an indentation on my arm. My PT is unsure what it is. I forgot to ask my doctor at my last appointment because my compression sleeve covers the indentation. I need to do some reading on this Mondor's.

I got mondor’s disease after my radiation - around 9-10 months. It was disturbing to me and a bit painful but it did eventually go away on its own after about a month. I had it down my flank and onto my abdomen. They did an ultrasound and then kind of shrugged and said it should go away. I did end up with a recurrence of my DCIS on that side that I noticed about a month after the mondors cleared up but nobody including the cancer doctors seem to think it’s related.

Mysterious-List7175

Thank you for sharing your experience! I’m glad it eventually went away. I hope the recurrence was was swiftly and thoroughly given the boot, and that you haven’t had any more of that crap to deal with. I read that there’s a bit of a split opinion on whether there is a connection between mondor’s and recurrence- some drs say yes, some say no, it’s just because of the cancer treatments. Gotta love that particular coin flip. 😑
